Until We Are Gone

Rate this book
I wanted a family with Cash.

We had dreams –building a house, kids, a dog, and, yes, even the white picket fence.

Or so I’m told.

I don’t remember anything about my husband. Not the wedding or the vows we shared.

The past ten years were erased and with time, they’re supposed to come back.

But this isn’t your typical case of amnesia

What if I’m not supposed to remember?

What if I was meant to forget?

Maybe I don’t want my old life back.

Because if the accident hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have uncovered the truth.

Losing my memory wasn’t tragic.

Losing my memory was fate.

"The fact that I was locked inside my own body wasn’t enough; they wanted to torture me some more, and they didn’t even ask if I was okay."

This was more suspense than romance.
But at the same time, it wasn't a romantic suspense.

...but no cigar
This was a first from this author for me. Making a habit of trying new authors out this year, I feel like this is the first one where I've been actually slightly disappointed. The plot for this seemed interesting, and whilst reading - I couldn't help but thinking that the author had guts for writing this!

But then, I read on....

So up until the fifty percent mark, the story focused on two characters struggling with their marriage. The whole amnesia plot has been done plenty of times in the romance genre, but this story had a hell of a lot more to go for it. I thought this was going to be so daring for approaching a falling marriage because of a loss of love and alcoholism. Romance isn't the exciting genre we all know and love, if it weren't for the few authors out there always pushing the boundaries and coming out with something new that everybody wants a piece of.

"I was still coming to terms with the fact that a bottle of liquor was more of a comfort to Meadow than I was..."

Unfortunately, for this after being a great start - the plot started going downhill into the usual cliche love triangled route. It was almost as if it needed an out, like it had to explain itself in a manner. This is where I felt slightly disappointed because, a suspense novel is supposed to leave you hanging and guessing and constantly on the edge of wanting to rip your hair out. Then, the whole first part of the book passed and proved to be basically unnecessary as everything got magically fixed and understood in the last quarter.

The Romance
"Never in a million years did I think my life would come to this, a grown-ass man dressed in thin pajamas and socks, dropping two stories to the ground in search of his wife. I’d thought we’d already reached it, but this is our new rock bottom."

Boy oh boy, this could have passed for a suspense on itself. The chemistry was monotonous and I felt no spark between any two characters. Which is another thing that triggered me about this book, it had so many side arcs and side character storylines that it lost touch with its main goal. It would be harsh however to not give credit to the blatant originality that the author had to weave these all together and come out moderately okay.

The last part really got on my nerves though. I dislike when books villainize (not a word, but you know what I mean) characters just so they can have an antagonist or someone to blame for all the misfortunes. Even if that character has proved to be a decent character. It makes the book read like an artificial soap opera and not an actual novel. At the end, that was the cause (for me) that made this book unmemorable even though it had truck loads of potential.

“Could I have been on my way to heaven? Is that what dying feels like, cartwheels in the air, no gravity holding you down?”

I love discovering a new to me authors and I especially love it when I enjoy what they produce immensely. This is my first book by Gia Riley and after reading Until We Are Gone, I can assure you, it won’t be my last. I can’t wait to discover what other treasures lie within the imagination of this talented author. I found it captivating, thrilling and suspenseful all at the same time. The storyline and characters drew me in and I couldn’t wait to find out how this story would end.

My heart positively broke for poor Meadow. I kept putting myself in her shoes as I was reading and was constantly thinking how would I feel if one day I had no memories and no recollection of who I really was and the life I’ve once led? It would be devastating I would imagine.

When Meadow wakes after an accident, she is reminded of whom she is meant to be and a life she cannot recall. The last ten years have been completely wiped from her memory and she is left to trust and believe the memories she is being shown, especially by her husband Cash. Something just doesn’t feel right though. Can Meadow really trust Cash and was the accident just that, or fates plan for Meadow?

I actually can’t really go into too much detail about the story for fear of spoilers, because Until We Are Gone is full of so many twists and turns, unexpected events and scenarios that will have you guessing until the very end.

This story had so many unforeseen circumstances and unpredictable situations and it kept my heart beating at such a rapid rate. Thanks to Gia Riley, I was constantly on the edge of my seat, reading surprise after surprise with each turn of the page. This is one book you simply won’t forget. If you are a fan of suspenseful plots, intriguing characters and a thrilling ride then I definitely recommend you one click Until We Are Gone.

Arc Book Review
Release Date-28/7/18

I Really enjoyed this one like a lot, but I am struggling slightly to classify it as it crosses over into genres with a little bit of everything.
So this had such a unique voice when it came to its narration giving us the POV from three individual important players; this, in turn, helped portray them all so realistically with flaws and all.
I found this style of narration so intriguing and it did help me get a handle on why certain individuals behaved they way they did and all through certain actions were in no way condonable it did give me a certain insight and almost unwanted sympathy into why things occurred the way they did.
Human emotions can make us behave in such unfathomable ways that are just beyond our comprehension sometimes.
This is essentially at its heart a mystery with romantic elements and how one woman's memory loss can impact and steamroll into so much more.
When events started to slowly come to light I felt so much empathy for Meadow and completely understood how she had managed to spiral so out of control in her distress and confusion.
Her memory loss having an almost snowball effect so far did the cause and effect ripple outwards.
Her husband Cash I could also empathise with and I could understand somewhat how he had arrived at the crossroads he had.
I also felt extreme empathy for him as he tried to traverse the daily battlefield that is now his marriage.
Meadow was an absolute nightmare for him to live with as she fell deeper into the bottomless pit that was her despair and utter desperation; using Cash almost as her own personal whipping boy.
This story also dealt with alcohol addiction and the debilitating impacts this dependence can have on the people surrounding us.
I didn't really think anyone in this story was truly innocent except maybe Logan all else portrayed were imperfect and flawed in some way or other.
But what I did ultimately take away from this, was there were no baddies and goodies here just misguided actions that though essentially wrong were actually done initially for all the right reasons.
And I essentially wanted everyone involved to find some sort of personal HEA regardless of there misguided and imprudent undertakings.
I adored that "Until we are gone" gave everyone a piece of that pie.
This is one story that I was glued to throughout and enjoyed immensely.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of "Until We Are Gone " of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions are entirely my own.

This is a dual POV book. The viewpoints are indicated at the beginning of the chapters and really work for Until We Are Gone as we need to see the situations from the perspectives of our main two characters, Meadow and Cash.

This book opens up to a powerful scene. Meadow is coming out of a coma after an accident and it quickly becomes apparent that she has lost a significant part of her memory, this includes bereavements and her entire relationship with her husband Cash.

The story then jumps forward 6 months into the future and opens through Cash's viewpoint and experiences. In an attempt to cope and escape from the pain, confusion and pressure Meadow has turned to alcohol, by this point in the story she is an alcoholic and Cash is at the end of his tether. He want's his wife back!

Cash wants back the woman he married and seems willing to do everything in his power to get her back.

This isn't your average love story As the story goes on we see a darker side to Meadow and Cash's situation.  As the story develops there is a surprise that is both heartbreaking and happy at the same time. The characters are at times frustrating and not particularly likeable but given the nature of the book that is exactly how it should be.

This is a romance with a difference hugely emotional and with a definite taste of suspense and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Thank you to Gia Riley and Social Butterfly PR for granting me an ARC copy of  Until We Are Gone. This is my honest review.

"Our house is as dark as her mind."

I chose not to rate this book, for a lot of reasons. It wasn't because I hated it or loved it, it was simply because it had hints of a trope that I do not care to read about and I was caught off guard with that. When I seen the cover to this story and then read the blurb, I had high hopes that it would be about something else entirely or taken more seriously (the topic, I mean). I don't like how the author romanticized it and I don't like how this story line as a whole, turned out.

Up until about 60% I was semi-enjoying where this book was going. I thought this was about a husband, wanting the best for his wife who had suffered tremendously. But I felt like I was blind-sided throughout the whole thing. Or maybe the author was just showing me what she wanted me to see and then flashing the worst parts in front of me at the last second, when I was already invested.

The pacing was...all over the place because as I would be enjoying what was happening and find myself getting pulled in finally, I would turn the page and the momentum I had finally gained would be lost because of the next chapter. The ending was rushed and not what this story needed. Not to mention the way the incident is explained to us was very lack luster and didn't have a lot of emotion. For a book building up on the grounds of "emotional" I feel like it should have been presented better to the reader.

"Sometimes, you don’t need words to hear a person; you just feel them through a look or a smile."

Although the premise of this book was interesting and caught my attention, as well as the cover, it didn't play out how I would have liked for it to and I think the characters were to blame for that. They weren't attractive and they never really grabbed my attention. I had a hard time understanding the concept this book was portraying and the reasoning for the actions the characters were giving us. It was just all rather odd for me.

Until We Are Gone is a beautifully captivating story about a woman who loses her memories and discovers that it wasn't tragic, but rather fate. This is a tale about discovering who you are without the memories and remembering things might never be the same every again.

My heart wept for Meadow as I witness the struggles she endures after the accident that wiped her memories. I couldn't even begin to imagine the pain I would feel deep inside if I was unable to remember the life that everyone is telling me I once lived. She is the mere definition of a beautifully tragic character that readers can't help but love.

Gia Riley has continued to surprise me time and time again with each new release and damn the girl can do no wrong when it comes to her storytelling ability! This story was dynamic and truly unlike anything I have ever read before. Holy crap I was totally not expecting some of the twists that the author threw in, but let me tell you that it took me completely by surprise and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end!

Until We Are Gone will leave readers speechless and they certainly won't expect those little twists and turns around every corner. This is the kind of story that you need to dive in headfirst and not look up until you've devoured every piece of it. Readers make sure to pick up your copy of this incredibly phenomenal story today and fall in love with Meadow's journey!

This review contains mild spoilers, read at your own risk.

I'll start this review by saying that despite the few issues I had with this book, the premise was truly intriguing.

Until We Are Gone was suspenseful and a little dark (as in there were some darker themes such as addiction) and very different from what I expected going into this book.

I won't lie, it was quite a heavy read. I don't usually shy away from books that deal with addiction, but I do prefer not to read them too often because, like I said, they tend to be very heavy and affect my mood. But anyway, that's beside the point. I just thought I'd be honest so that if alcoholism or addictions are a trigger for you, you'll know not to read this one or to read it carefully.

I think one of the best things about this book was that Gia Riley definitely succeeded in keeping me guessing the whole way through. I kept trying to figure out 'who', 'what', 'when' and 'how'. It's not often that a book manages to make you suspicious of all the characters, but this one definitely did.

However, in doing so, the book also made me not like any of the characters, which sadly, is the biggest issue I had with it. I did not manage to find it in me to care for Maedow. She was violent, both mentally and physically with Cash in the months following the accident, she kept making decisions and saying things that did not make her any more likable and in the end, despite the big reveal, it didn't change my opinion of her. I had no connection or understanding of her. The same goes for Cash. Although I didn't hate him the way I hated Meadow, I still wouldn't say I cared. I kind of just felt bad for him. As for our two side characters, Teddie and Nolan, I just felt kind of meh about both, unfortunately.

All in all, what I'm trying to say is that the premise was good, but the characters are what made me not like this book at all.

With that being said, me not relating or liking a character doesn't me you wouldn't either. So definitely give this one a try!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Well my goodness, this was a thriller book to read!! Kept me turning the pages just so that I could figure out who was the one doing everything to turn poor Meadow’s life upside down.

Waking up in the hospital, Meadow is surrounded by her loving husband. Cash has been there ever since the horrible accident. Waiting patiently for his wonderful wife to wake up.

After waking though, Meadow is suffering from memory loss. Memory loss of the last 10 years! Doctors say her memory may return someday…
Cash has brought his wife home and is trying so hard to have Meadow remember things. Photo albums, music box, conversation…

Something doesn’t fell right though.

When Vodka becomes Meadow’s best friend, coping mechanism, she devours the liquid until passing out. After an escape that leads her into a rehab facility or face jail time, the dreams become more and more.

Totally enjoyed reading this one. I love when a book keeps me guessing until the last page. Although once the secret was revealed, it fell flat for me. Just a here’s what happened and done. Would have loved less of the build-up and more of the reveal. More explanation…. Just really didn’t do it for me how it currently stands. Otherwise, a good read!

Until We Are Gone by Author Gia Riley is an emotionally compelling romance novel.

I feel like every time I open up a new novel by Gia Riley, I find a fresh facet of her writing that I had no idea existed. As a reader, this always keeps me coming back for more. As a lover of words, this puts me on an extreme high.

“There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to win someone’s heart twice, especially when it was so easy the first time.”

Meadow and Cash are at a crossroads in their lives. Tragedy has brought them to this place of confusion, and the future is hazy. Only knowing the past can bring clarity into the picture.

“I never knew you could want someone so bad that you couldn’t breathe. It’s like being drunk without the pain of hurting someone to get there.”

Sometimes stories feel too real and cause us to have a soul-deep ache for the characters.
Sometimes they make us so anxious that we take deep breaths in between the breaks in the emotional surges to insure our lungs are still functioning and that we can breath long enough to find resolve. I knew from the start of Until We Are Gone that I was going to feel like my stomach took up residence in my toes. I was also equally aware that my poor heart shouldn’t really roar at jet speeds after merely a few paragraphs were read.

Be that as it may, there was something so paralyzing and mysterious throughout this novel. Like if I breathed wrong, it would break open the clouds and the light that shone through would stop me in my tracks. There was good reason for this feeling. If I had fallen off of a one hundred foot cliff, I think it might have equaled the descending force that was present throughout the bulk of this story. Woah! I really had to hang on tight and white knuckle at some parts to keep from coming unglued.

Until We Are Gone became a non-stop read for me, one that consumed me from cover to cover.

This book was a total surprise I thought I knew where the story would go but the author totally surprised me.

When Meadow wakes up in hospital she has no memory of her life with Cash her husband. Cash has been at her bedside since the accident waiting for the love of his life to wake up.

From the moment she returns home the story changes because she's not coping. Like her I felt something was wrong I had an idea but could I be on the right track. Meadow turns to alcohol it becomes her best friend her coping mechanism. When things come to ahead she a given the choice of rehab or jail.

This was a twisty book it's part love story part mystery and it had me hooked. I found myself questioning everything and everyone. Is Cash a good guy fighting for his marriage or is he a sinister manipulator. Is Meadow losing her mind or is she right to be suspicious.

I enjoyed the twist and turns the story took it kept me guessing and wanting to know more.

Wow what a story. I’ve just finished and I’m speechless. So many times I thought uk ew what way the story was going to go and then the author threw a curve that I didn’t see coming.

This is Meadows story and what a story it is. She wakes up to Cash beside her but she can’t remember him. She can’t remember their time together. Once she leaves hospital she goes home with Cash. She tries to escape everything with alcohol. This leads her to a place she doesn’t want to be yet it’s a place where she will find the truth, find herself.

Absolutely brilliant. This story is faultless. Eeeek the feels. Not sure how I’m gonna read another book after this.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I’ll start with, when I read the synopsis I became intrigued with it: Memory loss, dreams, family.

I was curious as to how the Ms. Riley was going to weave her tale.....I felt as some questions I had weren’t resolved; which I know the author can’t know what I am wondering. I believe that one issue I had is I just didn’t connect with any of the characters. Meadow, in my opinion, was mean; Cash, I wish he had been a bit more endearing....

I would preface a trigger warning that addiction is present but also the recovery as well.

Until We Are Gone by Gia Riley
“Mind blown, 5 stars”

I read Until We Are Gone twelve hours ago and I’m still trying to figure out what in the flip I read. Riley is known for books with twists but this one was something else. The whole time I was reading I was trying to figure out what I was missing, where was the story going, and what in the world was happening. Then the ending happened and BAM! All the pieces fell into place.
When the ending fell into place I was feeling way too much. I was ticked off for Nolan and Meadow. I wanted Cash and Teddi to go down. I wanted to know details of what happened to Meadow and Cash before. I just had so many questions, but my brain was basically mush.
Twelve hours later and I still don’t know how to properly review Until We Are Gone. I can’t tell you anything from the story in fear that I will give something away. All I can say is if you want a book that will send you for a loop, blow your mind, and make you think what in the flip then Until We Are Gone is a book for you.

Certain authors keep you on edge, it doesn't matter the genre, the feel of the book, or the blurb. Some authors just make you expect the unpredictable. Gia Riley has created a monster. After the Broken Wings duet, I can't help but be paranoid. Like Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory, I start drafting charts and venting insane theories to everyone within messaging distance. Straight up Cray Cray! It's not my fault.

So Until We Are Gone became a crusade to prove I'm not going crazy...but as the crazy person I am...it was hard to prove. Until We Are Gone is definitely going to drive you a bit batty. Connections are made and a bond you have makes everything difficult.

Choices need to be made. And this journey isn't going to be smooth...
It's cornstalks smacking you in the face and falling out a window kind of crazy but in the end it's worth every cuticle destroying minute.

Audiobook Review-

I had a truly surreal experience listening to Until We Are Gone. I originally read the ebook almost 2 years ago. (More then 800 books ago). I remembered reading it. I remembered being suspicious because yhe last book from the author left me in a tailspin but for the life of me I couldn't remember the story. i had a Meadow moment. I read my previous review. I went through PMs I sent to the author. I couldn’t find real clues to the book I had read. I had pictures/svreenshots and no recollection of what transpired. It was eerie. And then Sarah Puckett with her hauntingly raspy voice that made Meadow seem like a ghost gave me chills. I had a whole new vibe coming from this lost woman. I didn't have any recollections just tingles...until him.

It seems he is the catalyst I needed to remember bits and pieces. But still, I couldn't reform those connections. I was left to put them together as Meadow does.

Gia Riley and Sarah Puckett put me on edge. I was dangling from a ledge with deja vu the entire time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this "reread." It gave me a change to feel it all over again, to be confused, to be upset, to crave...to love.

Fall in love again...Until We Are Gone.

After reading the reviews for this book and the blurb, I was excited to read this book. I have to say, I was hooked in the beginning and then once I got half way through I was expecting so much more. The story line went down hill for me around the middle of the book. Cash and Nolan were great in their own way but I believed Cash more than Nolan. I seriously felt nothing from Nolan's character. I wanted to like this story but I just couldn't wait for the story to end to find out everything and just be done with it.

“What my brain forgot, my heart remembered.”

Until We Are Gone was a very different reading than I'm used to. I was interested in the synopsis, the beginning caught my attention, I confess that the unfolding made me hate the protagonist but when I was losing hope, there is a twist that left my jaw dropped. And from there I could no longer drop the book, wanted to unravel the secrets together with the character.
Meadow wakes up in a hospital a week after suffering a very serious accident, and although her clinical condition inspires care, what stands out most is the fact that she does not remember the accident. Nor the man standing by her side, her husband. Being diagnosed with amnesia, doctors are sure that she will eventually regain her memory. After being discharged, she goes home with her husband, but no matter how many times he tells facts from the past, or shows pictures of the two together, she simply can not remember anything. Even their house can not arouse a mere memory, nothing seems familiar. And no matter how much Cash tries, she does not remember anything. Month after month, and without any improvement, Meadow begins to become obsessive with her recovery, she can not understand why nothing brings her to a memory, and frustration behind frustration, she finds in the drink a consolation. Until the full and passionate young woman Cash has met turns into a cruel and destructive drunk.
Cash has lived in hell since the accident, his home before a happy place today looks like a prison. His wife, no matter how hard he tries, can not remember or accept and move on. He is caught up with her in this sea of memories and bitterness. Until a domestic fight will force Meadow to go to rehab or if she refuses she will be arrested.
And in this therapy, with a very reluctant Meadow and not fully contributing to the program, she ends up remembering many vivid, sexual dreams with a man who is not her husband. Without telling anyone that she is having these memories, or what she thinks are memories, and her therapist sees no improvement in her situation, decides to make her agree to hypnosis, where Nolan, the doctor responsible for this treatment comes on the scene. And the man Meadow has been dreaming about.
There is no way to deliver more of the plot without spoiler, but the book has a brilliant twist. I did not like Meadow at first, I understand her frustration at not remembering and feeling suffocated by Cash's expectations, but her alcoholic phase did not provoke me empathy, on the contrary, they made me hate her.
When the great secret is revealed, everything you think of her has changed. I understood and accepted her despair. Cash also presents an interesting plot, although I find Teddi's addition unnecessary. Nolan got me as soon as he appeared in the story. His willingness to help Meadow, to heal her, broke my heart.
I just thought that two characters should be punished at the end. One should be prosecuted for fraudulent information, for forging documents, and the other lied the whole time and nothing happened. It lacked justice.
It was an excellent read, where the key to everything was a lie, that with the intention of restoring the past ended up damaging the present and condemning the future.

This was my first time reading a book by Gina Riley. I loved the blurb and was excited to read this intriguing storyline. A story about a woman who loses ten years of her life and has to re-learn who she is now and who she was in love with; sounds provacative... but this story left me confused and underwhelmed.

This book's plot introduces us to Meadow who has been in a terrible car accident which caused minor injuries, but lost her 10 years of memories. Meadow doesn't remember getting married, her job, her husband, who she is at all! So her husband Cash sets a course of action to reclaim his wife's memories and affection. But his actions have repercussions that are far reaching and unknown.

Meadow is a tough character to read and must have been tough to write. She has a lot of struggles and I can't even imagine how she feels. And poor Cash. Her husband has a wife who doesn't remember him or their wedding or life together. But the way the character development was uncovered made me very confused about each character's backstory, current status, moods, and motives.

This book isn't going to set your e-reader on fire from the heat between the characters. Which is totally fine, not all books need steamy sex scenes to keep the reader interested, and to me, this type of plot doesn't require them. But we can see Meadow struggle with an interest in her husband, and she has fragments of memories that contain a well written and passionate memory of ardor...but who it's with leaves her in turmoil and with more questions than answers.

I had a tough time keeping into this book. It took me over three days to make myself finish this book. I didn't get drawn into the plot at all. The pace was frustrating as I would enjoy and get pulled into one section, then the momentum would be lost as I got slowed down in the next section. I really wanted to like this book, and read a book with a similar plot (female lead in an accident with amnesia has to re-learn her life) which I totally loved so it wasn't the plot.

I didn't love this book and was so close to not even finishing it, but then I just wanted to figure out the mystery of what happened and who's in love with who. But when I finished, I was left confused and with questions and feeling very meh about the book. I didn't dislike the book, but I certainly didn't love it. I'm not opposed to trying other books by the author, this book just wasn't my cup of tea.

I grabbed this because I like a story with a good twist. And this one had that in spades. For the majority of the book I'm asking myself what is going on and who is the bad guy. Is there a bad guy? What's wrong with these people?

I will admit to being surprised by the twists in this book. What went down is not what I was expecting--AT ALL. And I love a good surprise.

This is my first Gia Riley, but I'm definitely interested in reading more of her work!

Sarah Puckett did a fantastic job giving voice to each character. It isn't often I listen to a multi-POV story and only have one narrator, but she did a great job with the different tones/voices to make sure I knew who's POV I was in.

description

This was an amazing story of heartbreak, memory loss, addiction, and learning to find your way. When Meadow wakes up in the hospital, she has zero memory of who the man is sitting next to her. She remembers nothing if the last several years. Going home with the man everyone tells her is her husband is not easy. When several months go by and she still doesn't remember, she turns to alcohol. Only the memories of her grandmother soothe her when shes blackout drunk.
Cash is at a loss as to what to do with Meadow. He doesn't know how to help her remember, and he can't stand to see her struggle and hurt herself even more. It seems his only option left is to send her to rehab and hope she doesn't hate him forever for it.
I want sure what to think at first when I started reading this book. Its told in three points of view, which I believe was helpful. I was thankful we didn't have cheating to deal with on top of everything else. This is one of those books that you're sure you know what's going to happen next, then bam! You couldn't be more wrong. This was my first book by this author and I couldn't have been more pleased by the experience. I was blown away by the cohesiveness of the storytelling from three characters. I felt it brought everything together beautifully, so while I still had one questions at the end, I wasn't disappointed at all.

Meadow wakes up in a hospital bed with the last ten years missing from her life. Beside her is a man that swears they had a good life together. Cash has photo albums of happy memories and they have a beautiful house. But no matter how hard she tries she can’t seem to feel anything toward him and their life together. Soon Meadow feels like maybe losing her memory wasn’t a tragic accident. Maybe it was fate.

“I want to be able to remember her, but even if I did, I’m not sure we have anything in common anymore.

I’ll never be that Meadow again. No amount of therapy could take me back.”

I really love a good amnesia story. Meadow wakes up with no memory of her husband and that just sucked me in because I needed to know the reason behind the mystery of her life before the accident. Cash just seems so sweet. When we’re inside his head all I could think is this guy would do anything for his woman. He really gave more than anyone I know would give to someone that didn’t seem to want help. Meadow pushed all of my buttons. I just couldn’t figure out why she was being so hateful and resistant to help. It was like she was falling down some black hole. I loved the twists this story took even though it took me a long, long while to warm up to Meadow. It was a very thought provoking story with some dark elements for sure.

If you go for emotional drama and secrets, you might just love this latest book from Gia Riley. You just never know when some accident will happen and you could wake up Meadow. You really just don’t know.

wowsers what an emotional read! I feel completely shattered from all the thoughts running through my mind.

Such a beautiful harrowing, devastating and poignant story of a shattered woman called Meadow.

One moment is all it takes to wipe your life. Like pressing that button "delete" and it's all gone. How would you feel?

Meadow awakes not knowing who the man stood beside her in the hospital is, why she's there or why she has no recollection of her past.

Cash the man stood beside her praying for her to come back to him, be his soul mate again and honour their vows they made to each other.

Hope keeps you going until the bottle is empty.  I was shocked and devastated for Meadow on her spiral but I understood her motives and for that I didn't judge her.

Cash comes across to me as caring, kind, considerate and compassionate and my heart bled for him along with a few stray tears.

I hoped she would regain her memories and the photo album of their past would be their future, and that she would no longer be the shadow of her former self, a ghost in an unrecognizable shell but would find her trigger to release her past self.

This book gives you everything in my opinion and it will set your heart and mind alight like fireworks in the night sky. Feeling are colourful watch the reds, the pinks and the deep dark colours.

Will there be a white for peace and tranquillity? one way to find out ....

Until We Are Gone by Gia Riley is a full length, standalone novel. A story of all the feels, told in a dual POV.
" How do you love someone you don´t know? "
Meadow lost her memories in a horrible accident and her husband is a stranger to her. Sahe spirals down into a dark place and when she hits rock bottom she gets admitted to rehab.
Cash, her husband does everything to get her better, so it seems. He loves her deeply.
But nothing is as it seems, nothing. What started out as the typical romance story turns into something different. The story has so many twists and turns, I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. Nothing had me prepared for this outcome. I was with the characters the whole time, I could feel their love, their hurt and pain, their confusion and desperation.
I loved, loved Meadow´s character and at the beginning Cash´s too. But that changed on the way and I really truly can´t understand how someone can act this way. I will not spoiler here, only so much I really, really despise him now.

Favorite Quote: " Sometimes you can´t repair what´s broken. You just have to toss away the idea of perfection and work with whats left. "

Until We Are Gone is a wonderful read. A beatiful second chances story. I recommend the book and give 5 stars.

I dove into Until We Are Gone by Gia Riley without reading the blurb or synopsis. I had no idea where she was going to take me with Meadow and Cash's story. Right from the beginning, you know Gia was going to take your emotions for a ride.

This isn't your typical boy meets girl, girl falls in love story. I felt Cash's loss of his wife even though she was right there in front of him. "Sometimes, you can't repair what's broken. You just have to toss away the idea of perfection and work with what's left."

Meadow's story is heartbreaking and powerful. Not only does she have to endure physical suffering, it's the loss of oneself that will pull at your emotions in true Gia fashion.

What also makes this story the Gia Gem that it is, are the secondary characters that surround Meadow and Cash. Each one of them play a pivotal role in determining their fate.

Well done Gia ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

3.5 Stars-Could Have Been More

Boy oh boy, I was ready to dig in to this book! From the blurb it sounded different, which I liked. Gia Riley Gives her readers a sad, yet suspenseful story with Until we are Gone.

Meadow was living her dream life, or so she was told, after suffering from amnesia. Days turn into months and nothing changes for Meadow, except for her attitude. Which is where Gia Riley did a good job with her characters. For the first half or three-quarters of the book, I wasn't a Meadow fan, it was team Cash all the way.

Cash. The devoted husband that keeps getting kicked in the balls over and over again by his sick wife. She can't remember him or the life they shared, but this guy wasn't giving up. He tried everything in the book to help her regain her memory, however it didn't work. Cash spent the majority of his time in this book heartbroken, however gets his come upping in the twist towards the end.

"Trying to force the future into becoming the past is getting us nowhere. There's no getting back the days we've lost."

Now the bad. I really liked this book in the beginning, however the story line with Cash and Meadow started to drag and even then, there was something missing. We weren't getting the full picture of thier past relationship. Then the twist. I appreciated it as well, but was so late in the book, it felt rushed and again, like we were missing some big part of the story to tie things all together.

The book is well written and I liked the characters individually, however not together. They lacked connection, all of them. Until we are Gone reads as a stand alone with a nice epilogue to finish it up.

Omg!!! Talk about a book that will absolutely blow your mind!!! Meadow, Cash, Teddy, and Nolan will hook you and you won’t know what’s happened or what you’ve read!! I’ve read this book twice in the last week and I’m still having issues wrapping my head around it! I just, every time I pick up a book by Ms. Riley it leaves me speechless. And wanting to pick up more and more and just keep diving into her work! She once again leaves me speechless but with a feeling of contentment and an ultimate love for her and her characters!
