First to flee were Ted and Dupree, then Tessa Turtle, Poncho and Mousy Dundee. Not far behind was the smallest of all, the teeny tiny reindeer that Jacob called Paul.
Jacob tells his mother that he is too old for soft toys and he wants to give them away. His mother washes them and hangs them on the line to dry. But wild weather sets the toys free and sends them on an exciti

I love drawing and creating things with mixed media so I spent time experimenting with different mediums. The characters are hand drawn and the scenes were created using a variety of materials including paint, clay, sand and even jelly! Thanks again for your comments xxxx (less)

Jacob’s Toys is a gorgeous collage picture book for ages 2+
Jacob decides he is too big for his soft toys so before finding them a new home they are washed and hung on the clothes line. A storm blows up and the toys are blown off the line.
We follow the toys, in a melodic rhyme and repetition of the six toys names, as they go on a wondrous adventure.
Each page is beautifully depicted in colourful collage materials and hiding on each page is a special insect

Purchased this book as a gift for my niece (7) and nephew (5), I read it to them last night for the first time and they LOVED it - as did I. My neice was singing "the teeny-tiny reindeer that Jacob called Paul" in unison from page 2 and my nephew was completely immersed in the illustrations and bonus bug hunt.

I love every page in your book Miss Claudia even the scariest with spider in lawndry room. I wish i could be as talent as you with rhyming and art. This is my new favourite children's book, even better than Gruffalo and Broom with Room even.

I found this absolute gem of a book at my local ABC Shop on the NSW South Coast of NSW earlier this month and it is the new family favourite. The simple rhyming and creative use of colour and font within the text and the extraordinary and truley one of a kind illustrations make this book a pure joy to read again and again.

Perfect for reading aloud to 3 and 5 yr olds - and the exciting story and bonus bug hunt have made it a hit with my 7 yr old boy also.

Can't recommend it enough 5 STARS

What a find! I bought this fabulous book for my Kindergarten class to discuss alliteration and rhyming and they have absolutely lapped it up! It has become a favourite 'read again' book with its exquisite and realistic illustrations and catchy chorus. The children each have a favourite character and the adventure they undertake has sparked their imagination. I am a very happy teacher!

What a delightful read and beautiful illustrations. My grandchildren absolutely love Jacobs Toys. If you love books like Hairy Maclary or The Hungry Caterpillar where they encourage children the opportunity to join in with the story you will love joining the teeny tiny reindeer that Jacob called Paul and all his friends.

Hello, friends! Our book today is Jacob’s Toys by Claudia Woods, the tale of six cuddly toys going on a backyard adventure.

Jake decides that since he is a big boy now, he no longer needs his stuffed animals to play with. His mother agrees, promising to give the toys a wash then find them a new home. Put in the spin cycle then hung out to dry on a line, the six friends – Ted and Dupree, Tessa Tu

What a wonderful book! I read this to my infants students who fell in love with the story and the characters, but especially Paul. It is such a lovely story to read aloud and the illustrations are wonderful to explore. Another little treasure for our school library! My students and I can not wait for the next adventure... Thank you Claudia 😊

I purchased Jacob's Toys as a gift for my nephews and they absolutely love it, not just the story which is fun to read, they like to bug hunt so we go through with a magnifying glass to find the creepy crawly friends. Jacob's Toys is always their first choice.

Woods has written a great story not only about the adventure of lost toys, but also one about maybe not being quite as ready to grow up as you might think you are. When Jacob decides to get rid of his toys he doesn’t realise it is about to send them on a dangerous journey through the wilds of the backyard.

It is a story about the various perils the toys face and what they must endure to get back home. The story is told with repetition and rhyme,
