Razes Hell #2
Everybody Knows
Going on tour with your favourite band is every girl's dream, right? But what if that dream has the potential to shatter your heart?
When Lucy Hayes bags an invite to join Razes Hell on their Europe and U.S tour, she is under no illusions about where she fits in Jason Brooks' life. She is - literally - the girl next door. Nothing more. Unfortunately, her heart didn't get that memo.
Lucy always knew Jason's bad boy persona wasn't for real, but as he struggles to deal with life on the road, she realises it isn't all an act. In fact, the stories she'd heard about him and his wild ways are starting to unfold in front of her eyes.
Can she risk getting closer to him, knowing it could be her downfall? Or is Jason Brooks’ destined to remain a love song left unwritten?

Disclaimer: This book was sent to me by the author, Kyra Lennon, for an honest review.
This is book 2 in the Razes Hell series by Kyra Lennon, and it is GREAT! After reading book 1, Nobody Knows, I wasn’t sure if I was going to really enjoy reading book 2. After book 1 centering around Ellie Hayes (the best friend of the lead singer and drummer of the band Razes Hell) and her blooming relationship with her best friend Drew, I wasn’t quite sure if Everybody Knows was going to center around Ellie again. Let me just say, I am very excited that the author decided to take a different direction for this book and have it center on Ellie’s little sister, Lucy.
In book 1, Nobody Knows, readers followed Ellie Hayes as she traveled with the band Razes Hell and was swept up in the drama that comes with being in the public eye. Due to Ellie living next door to two of the brothers from the band, they all became very close and involved in each others families and lives. Soon Ellie starts to develop feelings for the older brother and drummer Drew, even though she had had a small past with the lead singer Jason when she was younger. Nobody Knows eventually wrapped up with Ellie and Drew fighting through several hardships to be together, including Jason’s addiction to cocaine. Now, about a year later, Lucy Hayes has been given the opportunity to follow in her older sisters footsteps and go on tour with Razes Hell. Though Lucy’s parents and her sister are worried that her “secret” feelings for Jason might cause problems during the month that they travel, they agree that it is an amazing opportunity for her. But soon her feelings for Jason start to become more than a secret crush, and Jason finds himself having to fight harder to overcome his addiction.
This was a definite improvement compared to book 1, Nobody Knows. I had found Ellie and Drew’s relationship to be rather dramatic and annoying. It was very hard for me to stay with a lead male character that seemed to be winning and needing attention the entire book. So obviously, I was a little weary about reading book 2, Everybody Knows. Well thank goodness I put my weariness aside and went for it, because I really enjoyed it! I loved the characters of Lucy and Jason and that I was able to get to know them more. Though Jason and Lucy are the younger siblings of Drew and Ellie, it is QUITE hilarious that they are much more mature and level headed. The character of Jason has come a long way since the selfish addict he was in Nobody Knows, and I found it refreshing to know that he could prove so many people wrong.
The relationship between Jason and Lucy plays both on being a fondness for each other that stems from childhood, as well as an attraction and connection that they share. Lucy is one of the few people in Jason’s life that actually believes he can overcome his addiction and change, and I think his character really latches on to that support. I found Lucy to be endearing, sweet, and very mature for a woman of nineteen. The fact that she is more accepting and forgiving than her older sister is kind of surprising, but that made me love her charter that much more. I think the story wrapped up perfectly and I am so glad there wasn’t a completely similar conflict like there was in book 1.Though the age difference tween Jason and Lucy becomes a conflict in the story, I didn’t mind it what so ever and thought that it worked for them.
The pace in this story is perfect, nothing is rushed and nothing feels left unsaid or forgotten about. I think readers will find it very easy to become attached to Lucy and Jason, and will be sad when the story comes to an end…just like I was! Please to be aware that there is one adult scene in the book, but it isn’t highly graphic and shouldn’t make you uncomfortable if you don’t like that in a story. Compared to book 1, this was an absolute improvement and I think the author is really coming into her own with her writing style. i am interested to see what else she comes out with!

Audiobook re-read.
Everyone deserves a second chance.
Jason has lost his way but is trying his best to be a better person for everyone around him. Unfortunately he isn’t completely forgiven for his mistakes and it’s hard for him to find his happy place.
Lucy has always had a crush on Jason but never expected it to come to anything. When she goes on tour with the band she gets a glimpse into Jason’s hectic life. Can she handle the one guy everyone else seems to have lost a little faith in?
This is the second book in the series but can easily be read as a standalone.

11/02/15: Read the epilogue to Every Body Knows last night. This story is as amazing, if not more, than the first one. Kyra's Game On series has as special place in my heart, but EK could actually be my favourite of her books. Jason Brooks is my new book boyfriend!
11/24/15: I'm going to try and not make this review all about how amazing Jason Brooks is. I don't know if I'll succeed.
Fangirling aside, sequels are often tricky business, and especially with books as magical as Nobody Knows is. But this is Kyra Lennon, and if there's one thing we should know by now it's that she's awesome at continuously writing gripping, realistic stories with relatable characters and touching romances at their core.
Everybody Knows proves once again that Lennon is the master at creating page-turning stories that examine the human condition.
Aside from my love of Jason Brooks, the other reason I connected so deeply with this book is the characterization of Lucy and her struggle of everyone seeing her as a child. Going from being a teen to an adult is a difficult time, and often those around you think they're acting with the best intentions, when actually, they're coddling you and refusing to let you grow and make your own mistakes.
This was exemplified in the narrative through Lucy's voice, and her struggles felt very real. Her frustration of having almost everyone in her life telling her what she should and shouldn't do made me want to scream and tear my hair out, because I've been there and experienced Lucy's struggles.
Lennon described them so perfectly, you could easily imagine yourself in Lucy's place.
The characterization with equally as strong with Jason, and the side characters (like the reappearance of Ellie and Drew and the other Razes Hell members). Even if the character was only in one or two scenes, their voice was distinct and their motivation clear.
I know I keep banging on about Jason, but that's because I think his story is the perfect example of a bad boy redeeming themselves, and through Lucy's eyes, you see him battling with his cocaine addiction and becoming a better person. It's great to live through this transformation with the characters, as all too often this is something authors gloss over.
Lennon didn't. She didn't cut any corners, and wasn't afraid of showing her characters as flawed.
Another thing readers should start to expect from Lennon is heart-wrenching twists, and moments that make you slam the book shut and shout "NO!". Everybody Knows has one of those moments, and it's expertly written, with a fantastic depth of emotion.
Over all, this is an amazing sequel to Nobody Knows, and my original statement still remains. Everybody Knows is my new favourite Kyra Lennon book!

Jason and Lucy
Lucy is finally getting her chance to go on tour with her sister whose best friend happens to be Jason who is the front man for the band Razes H*ll. Even though Lucy is ten years younger she has always had a thing for Jason. With going on tour with the band she’s seeing everything that Jason has to go through.
With everyone against them they fight through to get their HEA but it isn’t without all the trials and drama they have to endure to make it. For me this is a new rock romance author I will follow.

This story broke me. It had me on the edge of my seat hoping Lucy and Jason would keep fighting and follow their hearts. We get to see a different side to Jason in this book and I loved him. He was trying so hard not to let anyone down, but they then let him down when all he asked was for them to trust him and support his budding relationship with Lucy. Poor Lucy is the one who has everyone's back and is also the only one who sometimes speaks sense. She thinks everything through carefully and has never given her family any reason to doubt her choices, but when it then comes to her choice of who she wants to be with, they see her as naive and treat her like a child. It was at this point that I disliked pretty much everyone apart from Lucy and Jason. I desperately wanted to jump into the story and defend two amazing characters who were perfect for each other. I sat reading the second half of this story with my hand on my heart as it hurt for this couple.
Everybody Knows deserves more than the 5 stars I can give it. I'm in awe of Kyra Lennon's talent. She's an author who fast became one of my top authors after reading just one of her books. Each book has consumed me and taken me on a journey that I'll never forget. I love each one I read and I wish I had more time so I could sit and consume everything else I've not yet read by this author. She's one of those authors that you wish others would discover because she deserves to be a bestseller, but you also don't want others to discover her because you want to keep her all to yourself.
I'm pretty sure the series is now over, but I feel like Joey needs his own book. I don't want to give anything away, but something major happens in this book and the consequences change a lot of things. We don't know much about Joey, but I'm left wanting to see what happens to him and if he also finds his own HEA.

Lucy is headed on the road with Razes Hell. Using it as a summer project for her journalism classes. Not that her having a crush on lead singer and her sisters best friend Jason Brooks had anything to do with it. Besides she has known him her whole life and knows how he is. Jason is ten years older and has been through so much, he would never look twice at her in that way. She was just Lucy, Ellie's little sister that lived next door. Can't blame a girl for dreaming though. Jason sees Lucy as Ellie's little sister, but he enjoys her company and her attitude towards life. On the road she is becoming the one person he can hang with and she keeps him centered. takes his mind off of the cravings. Until the day they take it one step farther and it ends up the kiss that shown around the world.
We got to know Jason in the first book Nobody Knows and the struggles he had with cocaine addiction. It about tore his family apart and ruined his friendship with Ellie. Now he is trying to turn his life around. Lucy admitted she had a crush on Jason, but knew he was a player and had issues in his life. She was willing to be his friend. Lucy was mature for her age and you tend to think she is older then she is. Wonderful read and had a real tear jerker part. Didn't see that coming. I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lucy Hayes is heading out on a summer trip to end all trips. She gets to go on tour with Razes Hell, her favorite band, and write about it. Having grown up next door to two of the members makes her even more excited, especially since she has a huge crush on Jason Brooks, the lead singer. He's a recovering cocaine addict, though, and sees her as the sweet girl next door. Yet as Lucy stays strong and helps Jason keep his addiction in check, he sees her as a woman and they grow closer. But can their relationship work with not only the media against them but their family and friends as well?
Another incredible contemporary romance from Kyra Lennon. I'm a big fan of her easy-to-read style that makes me laugh out loud, breaks my heart, and has me squirm in my seat as the heat is cranked up. What I love the most about the author's books is the how likable the characters are and how realistic the relationships are.
Lucy is young and figuring out her life. She still has to finish uni and has a bright future ahead of her. She's also not immensely experienced when it comes to guys. Jason, on the other hand, is older and knows exactly where his place in the world is. He's also an immensely sought after ladies' man. Two very different characters that weave together so well and make each other better.
Here's to hoping next year brings us more awesome stories from Kyra Lennon!

I had to compose myself to write this review.
This is the second book in the Razes Hell series, the first book being about Drew and Ellie. This book is about Ellie's sister, Lucy, and Drew’s brother, Jason. These two families have always been entwined with each other as they were neighbours and best friends. The boys went on to become a very popular band, Razes Hell.
Lucy has always had feelings for Jason but couldn't see anything happening as he didn't think of her that way. That, and the 10 year age difference. Lucy is 19 now and she gets a chance to travel with the band for the summer while they tour the UK, Europe and USA which is a fantastic opportunity for her as she is studying Journalism when she starts uni. But everything goes wrong after a couple of weeks into the tour when their whole family disapproves of any kind of relationship between Lucy and Jason.
I really felt for this couple. The family was totally unreasonable and wouldn't listen. So infuriating.
I got lots of emotions reading this. I laughed and cried. The writing was spot on. I was feeling Lucy's frustrations and Jason's struggle.
Very good book.

This is the second book in the Raze Hills series.... the book focuses Lucy and her relationship with the band, mainly how she feels about her sisters best friend and Raze Hills lead singer Jason Brookes.....
So many emotions in this story for Jason and Lucy and for Drew and Ellie who we met in the first book, twists and turns kept me gripped from the first chapter!
I hope one day we hear more from Drew, Ellie, Lucy and Jason (although Lucy and Jason both appear in the Chaos and Consent books also written by Kyra)

Lucy has the opportunity to tour with the band (Old friends). She is now old enough to look after herself even though her family worry about her. The leading man of the band is Lucy's long term crush.
Jason has his own problems. He knows his life isn't filled with hard choices. He never thought he would have the chance to be loved by someone like lucy. She could be the one to save him.
I like this author and this was an interesting read. Love isn't smooth sailing and if you can save the person you want most it's worth the risk.

Another great story from Kyra Lennon. I loved the characters, the tension, the behind-the-scenes at a rock concert stuff. Lennon pulls you into the book from the very first page, and makes you root for a happy ending. As always, you think you know how the story will play out, but Lennon throws in a dramatic twist that makes you gasp!

3 5 stars
Good points-
-UK authour & some of the book is in the UK
-strong female lead who refuses to let her family baby her
-fast paced and mid length
-1st person POV
Negatives
-my copy said book 1 in the series but it isn't and it misses huge amounts of world building
-Ellie, Drew, Lucy's parents
-very few references to music
-much lower angst & steam than I expected
I was expecting quite a dark, angsty rock romance where maintains sobriety was dominant and I just felt it fell short it's potential. The age gap, as discussed if she was a random groupie st 19, shouldn't be an issue as Lucy is a 19 year old university student, unless some background was covered in the previous book to explain why?
I expected a series starter and felt like I started watching a movie midway through. I believe this was written in 2014 and my copy didn't indicate any revisions which niggled me as I thought it was a new book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Disclaimer: I haven’t read the first book. And I’m kind of glad that I didn’t.

Disclaimer: I haven’t read the first book. And I’m kind of glad that I didn’t.
The “I loved him before he was a celebrity” trope is one of my favorites to read. And this greatly reminded me of Backstage Pass and Remember When.
Since I haven’t read the first book, there were some references that I wish I knew more about like the Nobody Knows song and the story between Ellie, Drew and Jason. But overall, I really enjoyed Lucy and Jason’s story.
Their chemistry is just spicy and even though their age-gap is a bit big, they act like very mature adults.
If there was a 3rd book that focused on Lucy and Jason, I’d definitely read it.

Lucy was happy to be going on tour with Races Hell, and the man candy lead singer she’s been crushing on since puberty. Jason is gorgeous, talented and a recovering addict rockstar. He and his brother Drew have been her neighbors for some time, Drew is her older sister’s boyfriend. Jason is ten years older than Luce which I find a little pervy.
So far I don’t feel any connection to these two characters. It’s like I’m reading her journal. There’s no emotion, just light talking and some sightseeing. I actually feel more of connection with Ellie and Drew. This is a short story with lots of ups and downs. I liked the ending, I’m giving this book four stars and recommend it.

June 13, 2019This story is something of a hidden gem. I don't promote it often as it's a sequel, even though it can, in fact, be read as a standalone!
Lucy is the sweetest thing ever - I loved writing about her and her first foray into the crazy world of fame and relationships. And Jason - he was an absolute dream to write because, let's face it, who doesn't love a tortured hero?! ;)

I liked this book! I wish we got to see Jason and Lucy grow more as a couple rather than the focus be on the drama of them being together. But all in all, it was good!.

This was Jason and Lucy’s book. While most women see him as a rock god, Lucy knows the real Jason. But will that be enough to make him see her as an adult, or is she destined to remain the baby sister of his best friend? An intriguing read. And am voluntarily leaving my review.

Would recommend this series. I think more could have been added to the story but it was a good read.

I have not read the first book Nobody Knows. Glancing over other reviews, I would not recommend to read this as a standalone. Maybe reading the first book is a must to truly enjoy this book. I would highly recommend you read the first book to get the full picture.
I thought Everybody Knows would be more dramatic. Compared to other books I’ve read, Jason and Lucy were a little lackluster. If you don’t like a dramatic over the top love story, then you might love Everybody Knows. This is personal preference. For me, I would have liked more hurdles, more hurt, more angst.
Spice level (1-5): 🌶️
Lucy has been in love with her neighbor Jason for many years. When she gets to go on tour with Jason and his band, Lucy jumps at the opportunity of free travel. Everybody knows she’s in love with Jason and her family and friends are all concerned for her heart and feelings of what may be apparent during the tour. Jason is 10 years her senior, he’s a good looking guy in a band, he has fans. She knows she’ll probably see some things she would rather not. But Lucy is determined to enjoy the trip. Being in close quarters with the guy you’ve loved since you can remember is bound to change things, right?
I would recommend Everybody Knows to rockstar romance die hard fans. If you like rockstar romances, forced proximity, age gap, bad boy next door, recovering MMC, low spice or no spice, you may love Everybody Knows. This book does contain a MC struggling with sobriety, and death of a loved one. To the readers of age gap with a troubled MC this one is for you!
Warning: Reading Everybody Knows may make you think about someone’s gigantic steely balls. May make you tell your loved ones your feelings. May make you think about road safety more. May make you look at your neighbors differently. Read responsibly.

3.5 stars

Amazing, Heartfelt, Breathtaking and beautiful. These are the words that come to mind when I think about Jason and Lucy. Overcoming his addictions isn't easy add to that the fact that those he loves the most don't trust that he can? Even worse. But when they try to steer him away from what could possibly be the best thing to happen to him in a long time, because of his past? Yeah that's when he fights even harder. Lucy is worth it all to him, and to her well she has loved him for forever.
She to seems she has to prove to her family and friends that she knows what she is fighting for, that Jason is worth more than all of their opinions ans important to her.
I love the feeling that Kyra conveys in this story. Jason's history with Lucy's sister Ellie, makes his loving Lucy harder. Harder only because her opinion of him is important but not enough to push him away from her.
I inhaled this story, it was breathtaking. Kyra I want more of Jason and Lucy I want their future. :)

This is the second book in the series Razes Hell and the second book I have read of this Author In the first book we get the story of Drew and Ellie but this one is about Ellies sister.
Lucy being her sister then we have Jason who is Drews brother yep all in the family kind of thing.
Lucy was finally old enough to travel with the band which was pretty cool, it looked like maybe there was a chance for these two but the family did not approve. This story is full of emotion and you heart just hurts for these two hoping things will work out. Of course you will have to read the book for yourself to find out what happens. It’s a great read I really enjoyed it. The story was good an I do love a good Rock Band.
I give this book 4.5 stars

A beautifully written story of a young woman trying to find her place and her voice within her family and friends. Her fight to be allowed to do what she wants, and, more importantly, be with who she wants.
This story is touching and heartfelt. Despite their backgrounds, the relationship between Jason and Lucy felt believable to me. The restrained behaviour. The tentative hope for more.
This is not an exuberant, shout it from the rooftops, type of story. This is quiet, subtle, seductive. I loved it.

This book was amazing, beautiful, and heartfelt. Jason and Lucy have a 10 year difference and their families are not too keen on the idea of them together. Lucy is now 19 and finally old enough to travel with the band. Lucy has always had feelings for Jason but kept them hidden from everyone especially Jason. This book is filled with so much emotion. It will have you rooting for Jason and Lucy all the way through hoping they can overcome all the things thrown at them and be together.

I was given an arc in exchange of an honest review. This was a great read. This book is a continuation of nobody knows but can be read as stand alone. The story between the two main characters kept me on my toes. I was going back and forth in my head about Jason. I love when an author makes the characters realistic and Kyra delivered. if u want a book that just makes u keep turning the pages to see what is going to happen read this book. I will be looking for more by this author. loved it #abfablynnette

This was my first read from this author. I loved the first person point of view which is always a deal breaker for me. The story pulled me in, made me laugh from the start. I will definitely read others in the series.

Razes Hell you can't help but love the characters. Their development is great, the book steady, and the author a great writing style. I LOVE the love interest!

Another stunner from Kyra Lennon. I adored this book just as much as the first. Whilst I am still very much a Drew fan, I did love reading more about Jason and Lucy (plus I got to enjoy seeing Drew and Ellie after their own story which was a mega bonus).
