A gift from my little sister, I enjoyed reading the words of wisdom of women.

Rate Procedure:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I loved the book so much I would reread it again and would recommend to a friend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Thoroughly enjoyed the book, could not put it down, would recommend to a friend, but do not need to read again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Probably a good book that I enjoyed but there was something about it I did not love (e.g. The writing style, the POV, etc.). I would only recommend to a friend if it was their "type" of book.
⭐️⭐️ - A book I have below average feelings for and it would not come with a recommendation from me but I would mention it in conversation if related to the book topic at issue.
⭐️ - I finished the book but I hated every second of it.

This book has some really great quotes in it. I have bookmarks throughout the book to mark my favorites. Here's the first one I marked (not because it's the first one with any merit, but it's the one that made me so frustrated I hadn't been marking them that I got out my bookmarks and started using them from this point on). Here's the quote:

The fact of the matter is that you can use your beauty and use your charm and be flirtatious, and you can get people interested in your beauty. But you cannot maintain that. In the end, talent is the only thing. My work is the only thing that's going to change any minds.

Any idea who said that?

If you guessed Madonna, you were correct.

This book could really use an index. As it's arranged now, the quotes are divided into topic sections, but the quote authors are only noted by name in the primary section, and then there's a Contributors section (starting on page 112) where you learn who that person was or what she did. But if you have any favorite people, there's no way to go back through and look up what they said. That makes me sad.

Otherwise, a really good book.

I really enjoyed the empowering, inspirational, and very relatable quotes from these brilliant, strong-minded, and mindful women. I like that the quotes are sectioned by type/topic, so they're easily searchable when looking for a particular type of inspirational reminder, and reference this book often.

Embarrassed that it took me 2 years to read the last 2 pages of this book. It is a collection of quotes by theme by historic/influential women. I remember feeling empowered in my new role as a mom when I read the majority of these quotes 2 years ago. Definitely felt uplifted by the company of great women offered insight and advice for life’s trials and tribulations.
