This book was a quick read with important information in an easy to understand format. I was able to implement some of the exercises the author suggests and continue to use at least two of them daily, which is a big win for me. Kristen's passion for energy healing came through clearly in her writing. Highly recommend it if you are curious about energy healing.
3.75 This book is exactly what the title describes it to be. I thought the concepts in this book would be new to me but after reading it I realized my chiropractor had been using some of the techniques in this book to help get me back into alignment a few years ago when I was having a lot of pain. It worked so well I haven’t seen him in years.
If you’re interested in this topic and want a patient and straightforward author to help get you on the path I think this is a good book to start with. I read it straight through the first time and then skimmed back through it and took some notes. I do plan on doing some of the exercises. I was also surprised that there are some things I did know about. Things that had been passed down from elder members of my family and my mother while nursing sick family members back to health or shaking off illness. Sometimes I think we disregard too quickly some of the old remedies and methods other cultures and generations use/used to address illness and fatigue. I’m grateful to have both modern medicine and alternatives to modern medicine in my toolkit, and this book was well worth the time and effort to read.
One of the characteristics that define me has always been “Energetic”, and I have been aware of the energy within me. As I get older, I appreciate this particular “gift” that God has given me; truly, my energy is a gift that is the starting point and sustainment of self-development and moving toward a better future and better version of me, not so much of perfection. This book tells simple and easy to follow practices (such as tapping method, releasing anger by writing them down and acknowledging them until they fade away… I have used this particular technique previously!) In the end, it is about breaking from the patterns of debilitating stress, chronic blocks and paralyzing limitations; instead empowering yourself to be free and to flourish!
A decent beginners introduction to energy healing. It is helpful if the reader has seen or experienced some type of healing work previously, but not entirely necessary. What I like about this title is that it does give some basic instruction that can be used right away for those with no experience without overloading them with too much detail. For those looking for an in depth study, this is not the book for you but should not be completely dismissed.
Audiobook duration: 4 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds (The couldn't have just made it an even 5 hr?) Narrator: Kris Ferraro (the author)
This was a well rounded introduction to energy work. It's not too "woo-woo". The author narrates the audiobook and does a good job. She also relates the material to her own experiences for context and examples. It reviews multiple types of "energy work", so if you're wanting to know the difference or feel confused, this is a good place to start.
It was kind of hard to follow at first and then dense with scientific information. However, the wording made it bite size for non-science majors like myself. Overall, the plot was interesting, and there's a separate chapter in the back of the book that explains the "how to" with detailed steps. In the end, I'm going to have to buy a copy of the physical book. 🙃
This was a good book but not exactly what I was looking for. I wanted information on being an energy healer not healing your own energy. I can see where I got confused! Anyway, if you are new to the idea of energy healing (for yourself) this was a very informative book and I did enjoy skimming it.
Really is a very good starting guide if you don’t have much experience or knowledge about energy healing. Some stuff was repetitive, some new to me. All great things about healing the mind and body and how powerful energy is. Great exercises suggested.
This book gives several methods of healing, but focuses on one the author knows that works. However, a lit of the healing was for oneself, not methods to use on others. Well done.
