This book was sent to me by the author, at no cost. As were the previous books, Crossroads of Canopy and Echoes of Understorey. Because I am very lucky indeed.
This trilogy isn't quite your standard trilogy because it doesn't follow the same main characters throughout. Although the focal character is in the next two, she moves to the background; and the same happens between the second and third books. I think I'm truly at more of a 3.5 on this one; it took me a bit to get back into this world (my fault! I didn't reread beforehand!) but once I did, I was completely absorbed. As ever, the world of the Titan's Forest is incredibly lush, and being able to peek into the surrounding lands was great. It was great to see more of Dyer's beautifully constructed world. Leaper, this volume's protagonist, is infuriatingly lovable, and I enjoyed the blend of traditional and modern fantasy. A fine conclusion to a brilliant, imaginative trilogy.

This volume wrapped up the series nicely. There were exciting moments, sad moments, moments that made me want to strangle most of the characters, moments I wanted to hug many of them. It ran the gambit as far as reasons to keep reading. This series closer really checked all the boxes for the genre of epics!
