This book was sent to me by the author, at no cost. As were the previous books, Crossroads of Canopy and Echoes of Understorey. Because I am very lucky indeed.

This trilogy isn't quite your standard trilogy because it doesn't follow the same main characters throughout. Although the focal character is in the next two, she moves to the background; and the same happens between the second and third books. I really like this as a tactic because it means Dyer gets to explore the world of Titan's Forest

I think I'm truly at more of a 3.5 on this one; it took me a bit to get back into this world (my fault! I didn't reread beforehand!) but once I did, I was completely absorbed. As ever, the world of the Titan's Forest is incredibly lush, and being able to peek into the surrounding lands was great. I was most intrigued by the worldbuilding surrounding the Old Gods' bodies and origin, and I would have loved to see more of that expanded... and to see where Leaper goes next. ...more

It was great to see more of Dyer's beautifully constructed world. Leaper, this volume's protagonist, is infuriatingly lovable, and I enjoyed the blend of traditional and modern fantasy. A fine conclusion to a brilliant, imaginative trilogy. ...more

This was my least favorite of this series. I just feel like too much got crammed into one book.

This volume wrapped up the series nicely. There were exciting moments, sad moments, moments that made me want to strangle most of the characters, moments I wanted to hug many of them. It ran the gambit as far as reasons to keep reading. This series closer really checked all the boxes for the genre of epics!
