I have read all 4 Kings Valley books and enjoyed reading a continued series about the same people. Since I also live in NW Montana I feel a little in touch!
I was really looking forward to reading Jake's story. I liked him from the start back in Ethan's Bride, and he's appeared in every story. He's just one of those all-around good guys, a genuine, hardworking man who is loyal and kind to his family and friends. He's been in love with Annie McAllister since he first met her when he was 10 years old. Both of them are equally ambitious in life and equally stubborn. I love that Jake encouraged Annie in her dreams and didn't hold her back from pursuing ...more

I loved this book! I received and ARC book and I was so excited. After reading King's Valley #3 I was anxious to read #4 as soon as I could. Like I've mentioned in other reviews, I love the little community in these books. The place and the people are amazing. It was awesome reading about past characters and seeing how they're doing. :) Jake and Annie go through some challenges but who doesn't. I liked how the author, Margaret Desmond, unfolded the issues involved in their relationship. She was ...more

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book! I was warned that I would need Kleenex and that was proven true, although not for the reason I thought. This book is more introspective than the others in the series. It even takes you back in memories to help you understand the relationship between Annie and Jake. It’s definitely worth reading. There were some farmer swears in this one, but it fit the characters so it didn’t bother me.

Margaret Desmond has always loved all things romantic. After reading Gone with the Wind at the age of ten, she was inspired to take her own pen to paper. Epic tomes set in faraway lands gradually evolved into modern day love stories. She endeavors to find a new twist in the telling, but the age-old story of boy meets girl will forever be at the heart of her writing.
