This collects the first two parts of The Volgan War , Pat Mills and Clint Langley’s brain-boggling A.B.C. Warriors epic!
Pat Mills, born in 1949 and nicknamed 'the godfather of British comics', is a comics writer and editor who, along with John Wagner, revitalised British boys comics in the 1970s, and has remained a leading light in British comics ever since.
His comics are notable for their violence and anti-authoritarianism. He is best known for creating 2000 AD and playing a major part in the development of Judge Dredd.
This is currently the last of the Mek files which contains the first 2 parts of the Volgan wars - I will aadmit that there are many more installements to this particular part of the ABC Warriors history however in this format at least it is the last.
I have incredibly fond memories of the ABC Warriors from my days at university where a friend religeously collected the 2000AD comics they were serialised in - years later I was able to read their adventures in the graphic novels made up of these installments. Sadly many of them have fallen out of print or are no longer available in their original format.
Their adventures to me summed up the 90s for me where I was learning so much more about what there was to read and explore from comics to manga to all the subgenres out there these were heady times and these stories epitomised them
