Dating the Prince is a light-hearted read which if you take it for what it's supposed to be it fits perfectly. It's cute, sweet and fun. Katie our leading lady has a great personality and is hard working to make her dreams come true. She wants to break Hollywood and become a star. She is living the realistic lifestyle. Her waitress job pays the bills, she auditions whenever she can and works a tv job that is basically just her foot in the door.

Alex is going to be King. He's stepping up to the r

This was a cute book with a lot of promise. Katie is a young woman who has a chance meeting with Prince Alexander. Their interest in each other is almost immediate and an adventure is on the horizon.

I enjoyed the premise of the book. A small town actress trying to make it big in Hollywood catches the eye of a Prince. That is the stuff of fairy tales, a "rags to riches" story. The biggest draw to me was the character of Katie. She is down to earth and not at all pretentious. She takes people as t

I really, really wanted to love this book. The premise is right up my alley--Hollywood meets royalty--and is loosely based on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's romance. I'm all things royal, celebrity, etc and had such high expectations, but it fell a little short for me.

It seemed like just when there was a part of the story that I wanted to know more about, it would cut away, completely leaving things up to my imagination and when there were times when I wanted to skim, it would go on and on in

Cute story with likable characters. Katie O'Connor is a Texan living in LA, aspiring to be an actress. Prince Alexander is visiting the states before being coronated as King. He needs a guide and makes her an offer she can't refuse (even though she really wants to).

Overall, I liked the story (we went from Los Angeles to small-town Texas to England), but the story was confusing at times. It easily could have been 1/3 or 1/2 the length it was and it would have been a better story.

Katie O'Connor is trying to make it in LA as an actress, so far though all she has had is a couple of extra roles and a permanent position as a Lucky Briefcase Holder Model on a game show. Think Deal or No Deal. One day, she finds herself running late and bumps into a handsome British guy. She knows he's familiar, but thinks he is an actor she has seen around the lot. Turns out though that Alex is, in fact, a British Prince who was at the studio helping film a documentary about his mother who pa ...more
This was a good story that I enjoyed reading, but there were several times I was confused about being on their road trip from Hollywood to Katie's hometown in Texas. (view spoiler)

The romance happened suddenly, but that's typical of a lot of romance books. I didn't really get why the Queen disliked Katie so much and the ending didn't really clear that up.

Dating the Prince is a very fitting story for our current pop culture (what with actress Meghan Markle having married Prince Harry this past weekend). I didn't follow the real-life "actress marries prince" story very closely, but non-royalty marrying royalty is a fun idea and made for an interesting novel.

The depth of the relationship in Dating the Prince seemed to come on very fast. I liked the characters, but was caught off guard by how fast it went from two people in a business deal, to datin

Dating the Prince (2018) by Alina Snow is the first novel in her What If series. This book was recently released on May 8, 2018 by Petal Pot and Pink Ink Press, and can be purchased wherever books are sold. This novel comes in eBook form, and is 326 pages in length. With a full-time job and a very lively six-year old, this book took me two days to read. I received a review copy of this novel in eBook form from the publisher via Kathy at I Am a Reader. In no way has this influenced my review. The ...more

Such a royally entertaining love story that'll make you swoon and wish you were actually dating the Prince of Wales!

Prince Alexander of Wales and his security detail were in LA for some pre-coronation "mission" and bumping into beautiful Katie O'Conner might just had been the best thing that ever happened to him. From one chance meeting to the next royal proposal of a tour around the city, aspiring actress and game show personality Katie got more than she had bargained for. To be part of the pri

A chance encounter changed the course of Katie's life. From early on she had been chasing her dream of being in films and getting noticed. She worked hard and learned how to take advantage of breaks and overheard conversations. Like most people, she also made mistakes and had some regrets. Being the only child of a Texas sheriff, and moving to Hollywood to follow her dreams, she did not tell her parents everything. Would some of her secrets come back to haunt, or possibly hurt, her?

This contemporary romance is a Prince Harry type spin-off romance with the next crowned monarch of England meeting a small-time actress in Hollywood and being impressed enough with her to make her his guide on his undercover adventure. The premise of this book was a good one, especially now with Prince Harry’s wedding, but it was a little difficult to get through for me. The writing was choppy and sometimes confusing. The idea for Dating the Prince came from the real life love story of Prince Harry from England and Meghan Markle, an American actress. If you liked watching the real life story that has happened, including the Royal Wedding in May, then this book will be intriguing to you.

This book takes place in 3 different parts or settings. It starts in L.A. California, then moves to a small town in Texas, and finishes up in London, England. I have to say I really liked their relationship best while they were

Dating the Prince is the first book I’ve read by this author. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this one. I liked the characters, the plot and the setting.

Katie is a really fun character! She’s an actress, sort of. She’s working as a game show model as well as a waitress while waiting for her lucky break. She was also really loyal to her family. I loved that she was a determined person and not willing to let anything mess up her plans. And then she meets Alex. Their meeting is class

A suitcase carrying game show gal meets this prince... sounds familiar right?! Oh no, this is a whole different fun, addictive and adventurous romance.

Katie is a struggling actress in LA and literally bumps into Alex, the prince next in line for the throne. Alex wants to escape his life that is set in motion for him just for a while, just to experience a life outside the crown. Katie is hired to show him around town but then Alex plans a more expanded adventure.

It was a fast paced and fun read.

-‘Keep your head up and don’t do anything stupid. Prince Alexander isn’t a god, no matter what the English monarchy would like to portray. Any magic to be made, it’s done in a studio. Stardust is another word for lighting. Out there, it’s a combat zone. Make your folks proud, Ms. O’Connor. Not many people get a chance like this one.”’-

Dating the Prince is my first introduction to Alina Snow’s writing. I thought it was pretty good. Kate and Prince Alexander’s story is so sweet, clean and romantic, and full of fun, adventure and delight. The plot was a little confusing and slow at times and I did find myself start to skim a little bit. Overall, majority of it was enjoyable that made me laugh out loud at some scenes.
I give Dating the Prince 3 1/2 stars and I believe it is worth a read.

I was given a free copy for my honest opinion. I would like to give this five stars but I am only feeling 3.5. This had so much promise and fun moments but I just couldn’t get past the choppy story. It was like sentences were missing making me puzzle over how we went from square one to three. I really wanted to like this more. Even the intrigue with his mom was confusing. I feel like reediting could make this a five star easily. This is a clean, creative romance with great potential.

Dating the Prince was a fun, sweet, light-hearted story I enjoyed. With some humour, well developed and adoring characters it was easy to get lost within those pages.

This was my first book by Alina Snow and it definitely won't be my last.

If you're looking for a clean and very sweet romance story than I recommend grabbing yourself a copy.

I'm not sure about this one. First off, it was labled as a romantic comedy. Sorry, but I didn't find a lot that was comedic about it. I laughed a time or two, but it wasn't what I would call a comedy. It was cute on some levels, but it was so confusing at times that I didn't understand what was going on. The explanations and sometimes the dialogue didn't make sense. I also didn't understand what happened between the queen and Katie. One minute the queen hated Katie and was trying to get rid of h ...more

A cute, clean, mildly amusing and entertaining romance that didn't meet its potential

My first book by this author, the series (What If) is aptly named, as this is a slightly altered version of reality. I liked Katie, who had plenty of spirit and drive, and wasn't afraid of stand up for what she wanted. I had a harder time warming up to Alex but I did get there eventually.

While I liked the premise here, and some parts of the writing were good (the dialogue sounded realistic, for example), I had

Have you ever wanted something so badly you would do just about anything to get it? Katie wanted to be a movie actress so much she faked her way into an audition. That determination came through strong and clear in this story, and yet Katie was also a loyal daughter and helped her parents however she could.

Prince Alexander is the Crown Prince, but craves freedom, at least for a short time before his coronation. He ends up being a pretty nice guy for the most part, though Katie wasn’t sure if she

Katie O'Connor has been studying drama and theater most of her life. Now she's in Hollywood doing whatever she can to both pay the bills and get that long elusive role in a feature film. Then, one day, she literally runs into the chest of a man who is all too royal for her. He can only be a distraction that she doesn’t have time for.

I've always been a sucker for The Prince and Me, and this sounded like a story that would be a lot like that. It has the prince who's immature and unwilling to take his role seriously, who falls in love with the common girl who has her future planned and on schedule. At least, that was what I thought. The description for the book here on Goodreads depicts the prince in a little different light, as someone who wants to get to know his people and better rule through understanding.

I found this story a bit hard to believe. Alexander's accent didn't strike me as particularly British, nor Katie's as especially Texan. And it really bothered me that Alex was supposedly next in line for the throne, with so many blatant similarities to many recent members of the royal family, and yet he is so obviously not an actual person. That nobody through all the places they visited recognized this apparently world-famous prince, even with a dye job and some new clothes, struck me as rather ...more

So I read this book the same weekend that Prince Harry got married. I'd say odd coincidence but the author said that his engagement was the catalyst for the book. Unfortunately, this story has been told before. The basic plotline is royalty meets and falls for inappropriate American. Mean queen tries to thwart their relationship. I'd say that this book, minus the smoldering innuendo, could have been a Hallmark movie but they have already used this plot line several times. So this isn't a new sto ...more

I loved the premise of the book and received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

What I liked:

1) Katie is a fun character to get to know and I appreciated how well-developed she was and how she had self-doubts as well as courage to stand up for herself.

2) Katie's family relationship was strong and loyal and loving.

3) The romance is clean and light and fun. Once I decided this was a fluffier read, I enjoyed the relationship much more.

What I didn't like:

1) Alex's instant attraction to Kati
