A gay friends to lovers romance.
I’m Aaron. I’ve got a crush the size of Europe on Joe, who lives across the street, and when he’s around, I transform into a prize idiot.

The rest of the time I’m a trainee plumber. On Sundays, I play in the amateur football league. In all, a confident, well-adjusted guy. For a 20-year-old virgin who lives with his parents and falls apart

I've gotta say, I didn't regret getting to the last page of this one.

To be around 300 pages, I thought that this story could have been told using considerably fewer pages.

Apart from the fairly-slow pacing, it felt that there was just way too much on-page sex for my liking.

I did like both MC's, but guys, get on with it. And by that I do not mean get on top of one another. Dicks away, please.

If the book had been pared down to around 200 less horny pages, the book would probably be getting 3.5 star

As has often happened for me, the audiobook of Streets Apart: Hearts Apart increased my enjoyment of the story from when I first read it. It's the first book I've listened to by Piers Ryman and the first one where the narrator uses a pretty heavy British accent. I don't know the proper term for the regional accent used but many of the characters in this story were plumbers and construction workers and I expect

💓What could it harm if 🔧plumber 🚽Aaron comes 🚿 clean about his attraction to neighbor Joe?

🔥👬 A well-written story that brought back memories of the heady days of young love. Lots of young adult hormones running amok as two young men who are neighbors and friends admit their attraction to each other and act on it 🔥every chance they get! Some angst as apprentice plumber Aaron works up the courage to come out while Joe, the object of his affection, is proud, gay,

Streets Apart, Hearts Apart, a bundle of two previously books, is a classic friends to lovers romance. As I am addicted to this genre, I love this book by HJ Perry.

Joe and Aaron grew up across the street from one another, but their upbringings were vastly different. Joe has grown up surrounded by a family who loves him and accepts the fact that he is gay. Aaron, meanwhile, works in the macho world of construction, plays the macho game of football, and his doctor parents aren't around most of the

British fun

It's a very cute, fun read with realistic fears and expectations anyone might run across anywhere in the world. The writing could use a little polishing, but overall it's still pretty good. The author notes he's hoping to have it "translated for American English" and I sincerely hope he chooses not to. Not all British humor translates well to American modes of speech. I really think it would take a lot away from the story, and I'd hate to see that. Besides, there's plenty in this stor

These lads are nice and likeable. There is a decent amount of sexiness, but Lordy it’s not well written. Everybody sounds the same and nobody sounds like 19-20 year old gay man. There’s little drama or angst and it all trundles along happily enough but a book like this I would normally read in a few days. This took me much longer because I simply couldn’t be bothered so left it alone for most of the time and then picked off odd chapters to get through it.
DNF at 26% - skimmed ahead throughout to the end but couldn't get hooked. Maybe timing wasn't right for me to read this one. ...more

Okay, this is a nice story about two young friend-ish neighbours, one openly gay, the other one in the closet, that decide to give it a try to a relationship.

The good in this story is that present realistic fears and expectations, particularly for a young man who, even if he has been aware of being gay for some years, has never acted on his feeling, nor has come out to anyone. It has too many sex scenes for my liking, but that's only my taste, not something bad by itself.

I liked how supportive A
