"I’d be shooting someone who hasn’t done anything yet." Professor Wells put his hand on my shoulder. "Such is the dilemma of time travel, Ted. A world where reaction comes before action. Where you as the chrononaut knows what the future will be like because you’ve lived it, even if it hasn’t happened yet."

If you could go back in time and change the course of history, would

Shelves: sci-fi
There is no doubt that Claus Holm knows how to write good and engaging short stories, and this collection is another example. In the span of the 172 pages, he successfully presents us with ten narratives centered around the idea of time coupled with science as well as the supernatural. Despite the title of the book, not all the stories are about time travel as such, but what they do have in common are main characters who all face a challenge and, often, a dilemma – and how they choose to deal wi ...more

A 4.5 star review.

It's funny - I'm usually not a big fan of short stories. Unless I'm already familiar with the universe, it seems like too much investment for too small an output. Which means that as a rule, I tend to stay away from short story collections.

All are original and very clever. The standard of the writing was excellent and the descriptions were detailed and very clear. I loved the story about how time travel could have changed WW2 and found the differences inspiring which was then followed by des ...more

This book is a fabulous, intelligent and completely mind-twisting collection of 10 short stories. After reading it, I was both puzzled, intriqued and wanting for more.
Although I felt that a few of the short stories were a bit misplaced in the context of time travel and advanced technology (i.e. sci-fi), these stories were still very good.

All in all a book that one should mark 'need to read'.
