This one was a DNF for me about 36%.
So first there was nothing wrong with the writing here at all, this just wasn't my overall bag.
The premise of this sounded rather intriguing on paper a totally anonymous room where anything goes and for me, I think this is one of those reads that Might have worked better if it was shorter in length.
Each chapter reads like its own individual story from a particular character's POV leading on into the next chapter with a different individuals perspective; almost like a series of interconnecting stories.
Really neat idea but in retrospect I felt an overall disconnect with each person involved.
Flitting on so swiftly to the next raunchy adventure stopped me from getting emotionally invested with anyone here.
I read I think four of these instalment chapters overall but did ultimately find me self-skimming as there's only so much bedroom Olympics I could read without getting eventually bored.
There was also a kind of profound message at the end of each of these encounters that the patrons of The White Room Seemed to take away; that was a charming touch that I did like.
So, Yeh, this wasn't really for me, not enough of an underlying storyline to hold my actual attention.
I'm not quite sure what I expected here but this wasn't it.
I will say this was excellently narrated with a flowing lyrical style but for myself, that just wasn't enough to overcome the lack of a deeper connection here.
I will not be ruling out this author in the future because as I said the writing was fine just not for me.

What intrigued me from the very start was the synopsis and the cover. There is really not a lot said specifically in the synopsis, yet it’s easier to understand it after reading the book. Although the story is fairly short, we get to see a variety of characters and how they all somehow connect. Without revealing too much of the story, The White Room is an invitation-only place where no personal information is exchanged and what happens in the room stays in the room. It’s a place where people go to explore their wildest fantasies without being judged. But when things start to get personal, the members of The White Room begin to explore the idea of wanting to reveal their true identity to those that they want to see again. It was interesting to see how the characters were connected by their lives outside The White Room and how they interacted while they were in the room. It was well developed and the ending fit the story really well, it came full circle in the end. The White Room is one of those stories that you just have to read it without knowing too much about it. I highly recommend reading this story, it’s worth picking up. :)

Even though this is a steamy novel right from the very beginning, C. M. Albert’s soulful writing shines through and delivers growth and happy endings. There is a little bit of content here for everyone who enjoys this genre. Chapters could be skipped if the subject matter isn’t in the reader’s interest without getting too lost in the story line. This is a fun, quick read and the concept of the White Room a refreshing change from common romance novel tropes.

This is a book that what the description or blurb describes is pretty much the book. At times the author may take you into the character's mind if they are thinking something about a difficult day from work, or someone may like the person they are with but because of the rules, they are not allowed to exchange personal information. The only real character you find out about is the owner and that was interesting. The scenes are steamy some more than others, but overall not a bad book. There were definitely characters I enjoyed more than others and honestly you could skip them and not miss out a lot on the storyline at all. I felt like I didn't get much story at all until the end of the book. The last five chapters or so maybe.
If you are looking for quick and dirty...well yeah, you're in the right spot. But if you are looking for a book with a ton of story and a lot of angst, I don't think this is it. However, at the end of the book there was a hint at things to come with the characters I liked best. I will definitely be reading that because I was intrigued with them so much. Not a bad read at all, just wasn't really what I thought it was going to be.

Wow! This was a completely different read to C.M. Albert's previous books...and I loved it!
If you love a bit of smut or kink, then you'll love this book.
There are 13 chapters, and each chapter deals with different characters and what they get up to whilst spending two hours in The White Room.
A different concept, but it really worked. Best thing she's written, so far, IMHO.
And I was glad to read that there will be more books, each focusing on a different character.
Bring. It. On.

Wow, just wow! I'm not even sure where to start here... let's just say this is one absolutely scorching hot erotic book! I recommend you pay close attention and may even want to read the book more than once. Fantastically well written and I cant wait for more from this author!

I received a free copy of the White Room in exchange for an honest review. This book was composed of short stories that were all linked to the club,"The White Room" where fantasies come true. Some of the scenes were better then others, but overall this book was a great find for erotica.

The White Room is more than a steamy contemporary romance. The synopsis of this novel intrigued me as it takes you to a place where you masquerade your fantasy out in a sequence of events. Told in multi-pov which gives you a better picture of the characters personalties and ambiance of the narrative. A sheer scorching, torrid sexy read that will keep you captivated until the end needing a cooling fan. This is a escapade, read with kindred characters. The unrivaled writing style and concept of The White Room gives this genre a revitalizing novelty. The banter between all the character's is witty & piquant. I absolutely cannot wait to read the spinoff novels/series about the character's in this balmy read.

This book is very intense and interesting. It has chapters that you can skip if it doesn’t strike you. But it does show what an imagination the CM Albert has. She is one of the best writers that I know and will continue to keep reading. She tries different genres and I have found that she can hold her own and actually succeed in the genre she is currently writing. She will not disappoint. Congratulations Colleen and it was well worth the wait.

3.5-4/5 - I honestly don’t know how to rate this book.
It’s basically 13 separate stories with some characters linked in various ways. It’s 260 pages of different sex scenes. I’m a smut lover but it almost got boring the amount of sex in the book. The personal stories were cool. But it’s just sex for the most part.

I have to admit. I thought Fifty Shades was hot. The White Room is Hotter. I loved it cause it keeps you edgy and squirming in your seat. If you know what I mean. C.M. Albert did a great job putting this book together. I hope she makes this into a series cause she definitely has a future in the romance book world

This is not a book you binge read. It’s meant to be savored, read chapter by chapter when you’re in the right frame of mind… ya, sorry, I can’t even type this with a straight face.
This was erotica, pure erotica. It is beautifully written, and tastefully taboo but my goodness. *fans*
Let me be very, very clear, this book was 95% sex. Had anyone asked what I was reading, there’s no way I would have been able to dress it up and make it appropriate for public conversation.
I think I should start at the beginning. The White Room is a place where men and women pay a steep fee to spend two hours acting out their naughty fantasies. There are fake names and the expectation you’ll never see that person again. The characters are free to enjoy themselves without worrying about anything else.
There was some relationship and character building in the 5% that wasn’t naughty shenanigans. The author did a remarkable job at letting me empathize with the characters.
The whole concept of The White Room is quite taboo. It’s one of those things, most people wouldn’t admit to using. No doubt such an admission would be met with judgment. After the first chapter, I even thought “not for me but I’m glad they enjoy it,” and “that’s a lot of money to spend just to get laid.”
So I have to give the author credit, by the third chapter I was empathizing with the characters and my thoughts were more along the lines of “I’d be there too if I was in her situation.” Considering how little of the book she had to do this in I have to applaud her.
My favorite part of this book is the way each chapter could stand on its own. Each incorporated different fantasies and play. They could skip the chapters or read out of order to suit your fancy.
That goes hand in hand with my only real complaint, I wish there were headings telling the reader what fantasies are featured in each chapter. Some things don’t work for everyone…
Anyway, The White Room was a well-written piece of erotic literature. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new bath time read. I would also strongly encourage you to lock the door before you turn your Kindle on.

This was such an interesting book. Each chapter is a new couple and a new experience as they take on their fantasies. Some people are brought bought with new partners and different experiences and some of the characters are interconnected. It was a little confusing to keep track of all the names, fake names, and how each one related to each person or experience, but overall a great read.

This is such a brilliant read! It’s full of spicy moments, with all the fantasies we all think of wanting to try, but never do. The White Room is the perfect indulgence and the rules are there…but we all know rules get broken.
I loved the characters and the way there was a shift between the characters and their assumed White Room personas, to show us a variety of the encounters that are experienced. It really built up the feel for what it was all about and just what each encounter gave the people.
The descriptions we were given, by the author, were excellent. From what they were wearing to the positions and locations, each encounter was given to us in a way that meant it was very easy to really feel a part of the moment. I loved it!
Overall, this was a hot read and one I definitely enjoyed, from start to finish. I highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for something to get your juices flowing ;).

This title needs to be relabeled THE WHITE HOT ROOM.
Holy Cow! I was grabbed and not released until the end. I loved the interactions with the characters and it was white hot heat in all the fantasies. A must read for anyone who likes the naughty books. I didn't want to put this book down.
The white room allows someone's fantasy to come true with another member, but there are rules. Rules to keep everyone anonymous and safe, at a cost. But what happens when someone wants more than two hours with the same person? That seems to be the case in more than one of the white room fantasies. Hopefully the owner will make some changes with the rules.

This book is definitely spicy!! It’s a fun read and takes you into the fantasy of the white room!! If you’re lucky enough to get in you can fulfill all you desires. This is a different take on the private sex club!! It is steamy and fun! I loved the characters and enjoyed the fantasy!!

This story is unique, unlike anything I’ve ever read. I loved it, it showed many different POVs and how they all relate to each other. Oh, also this book is entirely smut so that’s another plus on why you should read this book. It’s a good quick read that is enjoyable, pleasurable, and interesting. Every story is captivating and it’s really cool to see how the character connect and what their kinks are and how who fell in love with who.

I really don't know what I was expecting from this book, really I didn't but I KNOW I wasn't expecting THIS!
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
It's basically wall to wall sex, and I makes no apologies for loving a book written as such. It lands itself firmly on 3 shelves: erotica; over 18, and fan yourself its a hot one! Cos ooooeeee is this a hot hot HOT one!
Dom is given a visit to the White Room as a birthday gift. Avaline uses the White Room when her husband becomes terminally ill. Lexie visits after her divorce. Asher visits to get his Mrs Robinson fantasy played out. Simon likes to get his desk signed underneath by those he had sex with on top. Austin wanted to be pampered but he couldn't leave his dominance at the door. Vironica is a widow, but still a woman. Arianna wasn't even supposed to KNOW about the White Room. Alec likes to play with his food. Callum can't be in a relationship, not with his job. Baron is a preacher, and a widower, but still a man. Adelaide had a 2 man fantasy.
And then we come full circle back to Dom and Avaline.
Each chapter is well told from a single point of view, the person whose chapter it is. Mostly male/female pairings but there are some FFM (contact between the females) and a MFM (NO contact between the males) pairings. There are repeat visits by most of these characters, is some way or other. We get each and every emotion about why they are using the White Room, and why they are so affected by this particular visit. And just why they are all so pleased with the changing rules.
I saw no spelling or editing errors, and each story flows well from one to the next, but pay attention, they use different names in the White Room! You should read all the stories in order.
I really REALLY loved it!
This is, as far as I can see, the first I've read of this author, I hope it isn't the last!

I saw no spelling or editing errors, and each story flows well from one to the next, but pay attention, they use different names in the White Room! You should read all the stories in order.

Yes, this book is filled with chapter after chapter of sex, passion, desire, and lust but it's also filled with much more than that with the numerous characters you meet in each one. I will say my favorite by far was Callum and "Summer". Something about their chemistry on the page really came through in their storyline and I would LOVE to read a full book using only them.
While each chapter does contain different characters, you do see how everyone is connected, in a way, adding to the storyline and keeping my attention throughout. I highly enjoyed reading each intimate experience with these different characters while seeing them also display true human emotion. It's not ALL about the sex, but boy is the sex good! Many of the fantasies and experiences are ones used in other books however it's the characters that I grew attached to and liked seeing how they interacted with each other. The types of sexual acts performed and role playing shown in each chapter does, in my opinion, require the utmost in trust, so the fact that each one starts out as strangers is fascinating. You get to see how even though these people start out with different intentions or feelings, how these interactions can and do change them individually.
Yes, it is a lot of sex. Yes, it is very fun to read. Yes, I would read this again and hope to read more about some of these characters in the future! Gran a glass of wine, or whiskey, and indulge in this book filled with intimacy and raw human feelings.

There is a satisfying happy ending in which the story comes full circle. Additionally, this book introduces two spinoff series that detail the lives of the characters.

Well, HELLO, Miss Colleen.
I must say that I’m pretty surprise with this book. It’s the first one I have the pleasure to read by this author and I can honestly say that I loved it. Although, I do see this is not a book for everyone and that’s ok. However, I really enjoy books that not only can offer a good writing but also a storyline that is out of conventional.
This book in particular, was something totally new to me.
Each character has skeletons in their closets. All of them have a reason why they visit this exclusive place that is capable of making all their fantasies come true, even running away from their cruel realities, but they also go there to be themselves.
The White Room is a place where no one is going to judge you because of your past, present or future. You can feel accepted and desired without giving any explanations. That’s how a palpable connection is form between the characters. But at the same time it makes you feel like this book is just an introduction for all the stories that are yet to come.
The writing is flawless. The pace can seem rushed but, again, I don’t think this author is going to stop here with the ending she wrote. There is so much more to see outside The White Room and I’m pretty sure were are not prepared for it.

I picked up this book based on the intriguing blurb and I will admit it took me a little time to get into it but overall I thought it was a good read. There were some good twists and turns – it is also one of those books that is hard to review without giving spoilers away! The characters were well thought out and I liked trying to guess about them. The story is quite a short read but I didn’t feel as though I was missing anything, everything was explained well and I thought that the ending was perfect. I think it is probably worth going in to this book without thinking about what it might be about, with no preconceived ideas. It’s pretty steamy in The White Room and these scenes were well written and not over the top.
I know this book might not be for everybody but overall I quite enjoyed it and I would definitely like to read more from this author in the future.

I enjoyed this book. Each chapter has a loose link to the next with some characters turning up a couple of a times. I liked Avaline she has a lot on her plate but manages to come through to the end with a HEA.
There's lots of male/female with one female/female story and a MMF menage. Like a lot of this genre many of the folk are tortured souls. I prefer the sunnier natured ones ;)
I certainly will look out for this author again. Its a quick read so I'd suggest you dip a toe in and give it a go!
