Very thorough as in "I'll teach you how to drive the car, but you have to let me teach you how the car works a bit".

I'm not sure it would be the best option for an introduction for a beginner since I think he goes a bit too deep too fast, but it was perfect for me after completing some introductory video courses. I'm sure I will use this book frequently as reference.
