Rate this book
Dalila has energy, passion and perseverance--so why can't she dance? No matter how hard she tries, the steps don't make her legs feel lighter than air or as bright as a shooting star. It's not until Grandma takes her to a performance of the West African Troupe that Dalila discovers her own powerful soul of dance. Full color.

My daughter has picked this book out over and over at the library and it’s by far one of our favorite dance books. It gives a great introduction to different types of dances. I usual follow each page with a video of the types of dances mentioned in the book.

This book is about a girl who struggles to learn how to dance different dances and she finally learns how to dance by the end of the book to African music. I would love to include this book in my classroom library.
