I read this book quickly and enjoyed every page. I've read other books in this genre and this is one of the best. I was glad that Precious had some honorable goals--especially more education-- for her future education. Despite the fact that her man DaVon was a drug dealer, he was a very nice guy and he literally did treat her like a queen. I was surprised when their "best friends" Keisha and Quincy betrayed them and I am glad they got what they deserved. I hope that in the second book in this series, we find out who killed Precious's father. I was also very glad she found out her mother had attempted to be in her life and glad that her twin sister showed up when she did.

Saundra’s A Hustler’s Queen is urban fiction at it’s finest. The novel is a genuine page-turner. Each page leaves you anticipating the next.

Precious Cummings is a young woman quietly living in South Central, Los Angeles with her father, Larry. When her father is killed she discovers a disturbing secret that he has kept from her for years. Feeling depressed and lonely after her father’s death, Precious starts dating DaVon, a drug kingpin introduced to her by her friend, Keisha. Precious and DaVon fall in love and are living the high life. Though she has been sheltered, Precious adapts to the dangerous, but lucrative lifestyle. Unfortunately, her happiness is short-lived, and DaVon is killed. Precious no longer knows who she can trust. She is surrounded by her friends, DaVon’s drug-dealing crew and the twin sister who shows up on her doorstep unannounced, but can’t tell friend from foe. Precious is now faced with the option of letting the circumstances get the best of her or rising to the occasion. Having learned the drug game from her deceased lover, Precious puts her knowledge and skills to the test and becomes a drug “queenpin”. Will she be able to outmaneuver her enemies or will she become a victim of the game?

A Hustler’s Queen is very well-written. I appreciated that the characters were fully developed and believable. The unexpected plot twists and gritty dialogue held my interest from start to finish. A Hustler’s Queen has something for everyone: love, lust, lies, romance, revenge, betrayal and plenty of street intrigue. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

My thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Precious Cummings and only child, so she thinks is left with some big decisions and hard choices when her father is murdered in their dry cleaners. precious is left all alone with no family until she hooks up with Keisha a frequent client of her Fathers dry cleaners who introduces her to the love of her life.

I really enjoyed A Hustler’s Queen it was nothing like other urban booksI have read, it was not the typical stuff you expected. It was not predictable and a few things happened that I did not see coming. I did think some things were not realistic but I like that also because that is why I read to escape some of the things going on in the real world.

Full of mind-bending drama and animated characters, A Hustler's Queen upmarket urban fiction at its finest. Touching on a father's betrayal, Precious battles more than the ever present Grim Reaper. Chronicling her cyclical experience with love and loss, the story flows smoothly.

As a reader of urban fiction, I found this story to be reminiscent of Joy Deja King's Mafia Princess series. In her unique style, Saundra employs a different plot line than King, making for a truly unique story.

If you like the "hood to riches" trope, Saundra's latest release is sure to please.

3.5 STARS!!!
A Hustler's Queen is the first book I've read from this author and it was a good read but I thought the beginning of the story was a little slow. I absolutely loved DaVon's character, he was my favorite out of all of them but Clip was runner up. I hated how everything played out for them. Precious was okay but Keisha and Buffy were full of jealousy and there was not doubt about that. They betrayed those that trusted them in the worst ways. This book had it's moments of sweetness but there was a lot of drama, revenge, jealousy betrayal, and surprises from both family and friends. Money and power truly is the root of all evil when it comes to this read. I wished the ending was a little better but overall it was still a good read.

This my first read from the author and the read started slow. Precious didn’t know her mom and daddy was murder so she didn’t have anyone but Davon drug kingpin that took care of her until his death so she took over operations. Precious found out that she had a twin sister and her mother didn’t abandoned her but was killed by her boyfriend. Precious thought she had close friends which turned out being her enemies. I didn’t expect the ending about her twin sister.

😳🔥

So I read A Hustlers Queen after reading part two but I had to know the backstory on who Precious was and I wanted to know the man that Davon was. I truly couldn’t get enough of this story. The drama was off the chart but rhe betrayal and jealousy of so called friends is what had me puzzled. Like, precious was so nice to everyone but her friends weren’t it!! The author really told this story! I felt every emotion possible with this read. Great job!
