Baby for the Kingpin

Rate this book
She was always off limits.
Forbidden fruit.
Her mob-boss father would kill to keep her pure,
But now I’m the kingpin of my family.
And her? She’s pregnant with my baby.

Bella

I should have told him no. I should have never gone a date with Luca Gallo. The smoking hot boy next door–the one who I always caught smirking at me across the pews while wearing his Sunday best. He was the boy I always wondered about, but knew I could never, ever let touch me.

The Gallos and my family, the Rielas, have wanted to kill each other from way before either Luca and I were born. Luca’s father is dead, and he’s ready to bury the hatchet–at least long enough to ask me out–but my father...and cousins...and uncles...and pretty much everyone else in my family wants to kill Luca and his entire family.

Even though I’d spent years cutting myself off from my family. From the families , from all the terrible mafia stuff that I grew up with...I couldn’t resist him. I thought it would just be a date. One date, then I’d put him behind me. But one date turned into one night.

And one night was all it took to get me knocked up.

Now I’m pregnant with the Kingpin’s Baby. It’s either going to join our families together, or destroy them both.

Luca

I always called her Princess. Bella Riela. She was the good little Mafia Princess, the only one who could ever make her stone-cold father crack a smile. I always wanted to get my hands on her, but I knew her father would probably cut mine off if I touched her.

Then we grew up. I inherited my own father’s Kingpin of the whole damn family and empire. That also means I inherited Bella’s father wanting to kill me.

So if he wants to kill me anyway, I might as well ask out Bella. She’s grown up too, and maybe it’s just because I know how bad an idea it is–that she’s forbidden fruit–but I need a taste. I need to know what her soft skin feels like under my rough hands.

So I asked her out, and one thing lead to another…

Now she’s pregnant, and her father definitely wants to kill me. The problem is, he wants to make the baby a Riela, and deny that I’m even the father. That’s not gonna fly. This baby is mine , and I’m going to do whatever it takes to be there as a father for my kid, and if I’m lucky, to get a real shot to be with Bella.

This is a full-length mafia romance novel with steamy sex scenes, a HEA, and no cliffhangers. Bonus books are included.

A mafia princess that wants nothing to do with the mafia. Bella ran after her brother was killed, and everyone used it as the "good soldier" sign. Bella was done. So she is in college and living on her own, when Luca the prince of the other side shows up. These two have heat coming off of them when they are next to each other. Luca has wanted her forever but she was off limits. Two sides of the same coin but her side thought his side killed her brother.

Two people destined to stay away from each, have one night that will change everyone's life.

Really enjoyable story! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

A nice quick read

Even though the storyline is like a majority of what we read, and mafia not wants to turn good, this book felt like it had some originality to it. Instead of what I would call big business he wants to expand his auto repair business. And Bella even though she broke away from her mafia family
in which coincidentally she was still being watched she was still doing it all on her own and you had to have had respect for her for that alone. Again some great drama and some parts that had me laughing pulpit in a couple of spots. Well worth the time to read.

I received an Advance Reader Copy and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Water leaking into her room, realizing she has a final shortly, and now her car not starting. Great way to start her day. Bella has not had anything seem so dismal to her as her life feels at this very moment. That is until once her roommate gives her a ride to school, sitting in the commons area he walks in. Even better. She is cold and bitter towards him and yet he continues to be kind to her. It is not really his fault, but he is a part of them, and that is enough reason.

Watching her. wanting to know her better, wanting to be more than friends that is the hope Luca is holding on to. She has done things that he is very impressed with and now he wants his time with her. She isn't nice and doesn't give him any reason to want to keep pursuing her, but he does. He knows what he wants and he is going after it.

Years ago there were to mafia family that started a feud between themselves and for years it has been back and forth. After her brothers death she walked away. Left the money, left the glorious lifestyle, left it and went on her way. No longer a part of any of that, she was going to school, living in an apartment, earning her way. The true and real way. The he walks into her life and all the feelings started to come forward. Bella doesn't want that life and she aims to keep it that way. Luca is now the "kingpin" (leader) of his family now since his father's death. He is not really wanting to be that, and once he sees her again, he realizes she really is worth giving thought to leaving it behind too. He wants a fresh, clean start. Get away from the whole scene he has been living. Only because of his status it is not as easy for him to do.

Luca finally gets Bella to agree to "just dinner." But they both realize there are feelings and it isn't going to be just dinner. Heat of passion causes unclear judgments to be made. Luca thought if he could be with her once he would get it out of his system, only it makes his hunger stronger. Bella is feeling angry mostly at herself for allowing it to happen at all, and then a reminder she was supposed to have isn't there. It is confirmed and she goes to talk to Luca. Surprisingly he wants to be together with her still, and for many reasons, none of which include the family rivalry.

There are things that happen all along the way to prevent these two from trying to make a life together. From this point there is more to prevent them from moving forward that reasons to go their separate ways and forget about everything. But there is a truce called. A rogue event happens and now it is scrambling to pick up pieces and find out what is happening, who started it, and how this will eventually be traced to that truce. There is a lot of people suspected, people showing loyalty but then turning their backs on the ones they shouldn't.

A call comes in, just when Bella and Luca decide enough is finally enough. Then a cover up lie, a brief meeting that ends with an ending that was not they way it was supposed to, Luca tells Bella, and a fight happens. Now it is time for the two to pack and go. Luca realizes that family really is still important to Bella, even though she will not admit it. He decides it is time to do something a bit dangerous but something that needs to be done. It is time to face it. Luca meets with Bella's father. They come clean with one another, and things are good, but it is as Luca is leaving that the big thing happens. Luca had to make this right, he had to do this. When he tells Bella, she is furious, but he tells her anyways and they come to terms with it. He saved her dad. Now, and only now is it when they are able to leave all of this behind and build on their future together. When they come back for a visit, there has been so much that has changed, and all for the better! They did it, they walked away from all the bad and darkness surrounding them, together. A happy ending for both of them that was always wanted but neither thought they would have.

This is a wonderful Mafia love story about Bella and Luca who are from rival Mafia families. Luca and Bella have known each other since they were kids and as they got older they realized they had feelings for one another and keep them secret. As Bella got older she decided she wanted out of the “Family” and walked away and started living on her own and paying for her own college. Luca grew up working for his family and once his dad passed he became the Kingpin for his family. Luca finds a way to run into Bella here and there and one day she is having a terrible day and she blasts Luca with her day and all her bad luck. Luca does what he can with his strength and power to help her behind her back. Things between them start to get heated and their connection and chemistry is explosive. When they finally get together it surprises both of them! With them having been together will their families find out and cause more issues with their feud? Can Luca do what is necessary to leave his life as the Kingpin and be the man Bella deserves? Who and what will cause them road blocks to move forward? I enjoyed how this beautiful story ends!! Luca and Bella are from rival mob families, who have been feuding for many many years. Bella left her family behind because she was sick of all the bloodshed, going to school and making it out on her own. Luca has had a thing for Bella since he first saw her when they were kids and now that she’s an adult, he can’t stop looking or wanting. She doesn’t want anything to do with Luca the new boss over his family and as he wears her down she finally agrees to a dinner. That dinner leads to more and consequences, now she has to decide does she want him in her life, a life she turned her back on.
A great read with some steam and like Romeo and Juliet but with a happy ending. I enjoyed these two and everything that Luca was trying to do even before Bella and I enjoyed his bad boy side as well, he can’t change that and shouldn’t. Bella got on my nerves a couple of times, but it was understandable, she wanted out of the life and she was serious about and I finally liked how she stuck to her guns, not allowing her attraction to change her mind, thinking of the baby’s welfare. I also enjoyed the constant suspense of who did what, who was innocent and who wasn’t when it came to the feud.

Bella is a mafia princess, but when her brother dies and revenge is sought after against Luca's family, Bella knows she has to cut all ties and try and escape. She leaves the family and goes to school and lives in an apartment with a roommate she can afford, she does this on her own. But when her apartment is less than ideal and her final is coming up, she is struggling. And that is the moment that Luca decides to stop by the coffee shop and "help". Luca just wants to take Bella to dinner, but is that wise? She gave up her family for a reason. But after spending time with Luca, she knows she wants more from her and for her future, but is the man she needs away from the family? Or will he always be the Kingpin? Will Bella having his baby change his mind? Will the baby bring the families together after all?

This is a great twist on a classic, the chemistry you feel between Luca and Bella is hot!! But their connection is more than that, they love each other and want the best for them and their baby. Can Luca take her away from all of the family business? Will he give up being the Kingpin and settle for Jiffy Lube? This is a intriguing, captivating book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every page til the end. The book is about a young mafia princess (Bella) who cut herself off from her mafia family, she decides to go on a date with the kingpin (Luca) from another mafia family. They spend some time together and after a few weeks, she discovers she is pregnant. What you will find in this wonderful book is: drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, mafia families, unlikely bodyguards, a interfering father, humor, action, family issues, feuds, obstacles, conflict, betrayal, guns blazing, attractions, emotional feelings, lust, passion, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have emotional feelings with wants, needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a good well-written mafia romance with a HEA

This is an interesting story line where Luca Gallo and Bella Riela grow up in two warring mafia families, always aware of each other but not daring to do anything about it. Bella is the daughter of the Riela crime boss. Violence became intolerable to her and she was determined to split off from the family by going out on her own, earning her degree, and working a job to pay her tuition.

Luca becomes the alpha Kingpin of his family when his father dies. As Luca and Bella are now adults, their attraction has heated up and they give in to it, Bella figuring that one date will help her get over him. But Bella becomes pregnant and her furious father wants to cut Luca out of the picture. Will Bella’s father retaliate against the Gallo family? Or will this baby be the catalyst to finally bring these mafia families together?

This is definitely a book you will want to read. Familiar story line, but intriguing and suspenseful, and handled in a way that will keep you wanting to read to the end.

What do you do when all you want is to escape the life you've grown up in but keep getting pulled back into every time you try to get out? Both Bella and Luca find themselves in this predicament. Bella successfully got away for awhile, that is until she got pregnant by her family's enemy. Luca is head of his family but is tired of the feud between the Rielas and the Gallos, and he wants Bella. I didn't have as much of a connection to Bella. She frustrated me at times with her back and forth "I'm breaking up with him, no I'm not thinking". I loved Luca though! He was a great guy who wanted to do right by Bella and the baby. The ending was a little bit of a surprise and has me wondering if we might see another Riela/Gallo pairing sometime soon. If so, I think it might be interesting.

I love a story that starts with action whether it's racy or mundane. LOL We meet Bella, a young Italian woman who's got lots of problems mostly with a water soaked apartment, to a test that she's got to take in three hours and she's so not ready for that test. Then to top it all off, she meets Luca, a nice Italian man, and the antithesis to her life. She left her family after her older brother was killed and refused to take anything from them, especially from her father. Luca has been the kingpin in his family's empire since his dad's death but has been trying to figure out ways to go legit. He's also been after Bella since they were kids...but both are from the wrong families--think Romeo and Juliet. Then one evening changes the course of their lives!
Fantastic story and read. Will grab your attention and keep you in it till the last page.

I loved this book about a Mafia princess and her Kingpin. This is actually one of the better Mafia romances on the market. Bella Riela and Luca Gallo are likable characters who have smoking hot chemistry which they give into one night, even though their families are enemies. The resulting accidental pregnancy could escalate an already tense relationship between the Rielas and the Gallos into all-out war.

The plot in lesser hands could have been humdrum but Melinda Minx is a talented writer who makes her characters and their story come alive. Bella, who has rejected the lifestyle, is a woman of strength and honesty; and even though Luca is cocky and arrogant, he is also a pretty decent guy and is caring and protective of Bella. I enjoyed this book a lot and couldn't put it down. 4.5 stars.

Hot hot hot. This story susprised me in the most positive way. It is very well written and flows nicely of the pages. The storyline and plot is great. Characters are well described and develops nicely. They are likeable.

Twists are unexpected and makes you sit on the edge. Very captivating because of the different theme.

I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. Enjoyable read. A fantastic romance and love story with heart and hotness. Opposites attracts. You can not fight it when fate comes in the play.

The story has mafia, drama, passion, hot chemistry, steamy scenes, family issues and lots of emotional ups and downs.

I enjoyed this book because it caught me with the different story and the use of words.

A mafia modified Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending this time. They are from rival families. A member of her family is killed and his family is blamed for the death.

Luca has spent years wanting Bella and he finally gets a chance to make his move on her. Proving to be more prince than frog, Luca shows what kind of man he can truly be at every opportunity. Bella just wants to be away from anything and everything "family" related. I loved Luca's reaction to the baby and his determination to be a father and part of the baby's life even if it means sacrificing everything his family has built. It is a great story with some intrigue and action. It is an enjoyable and easy read (no "too stupid to live" moments).

I have to say that I have never been disappointed in a Melinda Minx story.

A Kingpin and his Princess!

The Gallo's and Riela's have been in a standoff with each other for a long time; the two Italian Mafia families have modern day ' Romeo and Juliet' story going on with their offspring, Kingpin Luca Gallo, and Bella Riela - A.K.A Princess. Luca has always wanted to get closer to the forbidden Princess, but the funding Mafia families made that a difficult task.
Now, both grown and on their own, running into the source of his obsession, what will one night of leaving the mafia worlds behind bring them?
What a passionate, harrowing adventure into the future! Loved the characters ( especially Luca! ) ( ** I just wish Bella would not have been so whiny haha )
A fast-moving, mobbed-up sexy tailspin that was not only enjoyable but left me in a better place than when I started!

Bella Riela is a mafia princess that cut ties with her family. She lives frugally instead of a rich college student at NYU. Currently, Bella is experiencing disaster because her apartment flooded ruining most of the stuff she owns. Bella doesn't need any more problems especially Luca Gallo. The Rielas and Gallos are feuding which Bella wants nothing to do with period. Luca can't take his eyes off Bella Riela. He knows that she's trouble but so worth the effort. Luca just wants a shot at her sexy body in his bed. Will Luca get what he wants? Will Bella let Luca in? Your answers await you in Baby for the Kingpin.

The characters and story were complex, complicated, unique, rich, real, raw, honest, compelling, and mysterious too. I thought the relationship had special meaning since knowing each other for years. You really couldn't hide the relationship from others easily. Definitely enjoyed the story and characters.

Luca Gallo is a mob boss and he does something very wrong by getting involved with his enemies daughter and getting her pregnant to make things worst. Bella knew she should have never got involved with him but she could not help herself. Now her father wants to kill Lucas and make his grand baby a Riela like Luca never even existed, but that won't fly for Lucas and he is out to claim what is his.

With tempers and wars going on around them what will Luca do will he give up his life of a monster to protect his girl and their unborn child. Another great read for me and I loved how Luca was willing to change once he found out he was going to be a father. I would recommend this book.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Luca Gallo and Bella Riela. Luca and Bella have an attraction like none can match. However there are things that stand in their way. For instance their families, their family businesses. The fact that Bella wants a life completely away from the life he is in. However one day everything changes and neither are sure if it is for the better or the worse. Can they make it to the HEA or will all the reasons that kept them apart be thing that ends them forever?

This is an amazing book. It has it's twists and turns I really want to tell you all about. I however don't want to ruin the book for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. I love Mafia romances and this one did not disappoint. I loved Bella and Luca’s story. These two have known each other forever and both had feelings for the other, but for whatever reason neither one ever acted on them. They went their own ways, Luca working for his family and Bella couldn’t get far enough away from hers. When they come together again, the chemistry is off the charts and they finally give in. One night, consequences, and an expected surprise. Obstacles galore stand in their way, families at odds, a war brewing with the surprising news, will Bella and Luca survive their families to have one of their own? Loved this book, it’s a must read especially if you want to know how their story ends.

Oh the Gallos and the Rielas....always at war. Now it’s time to stop, well it will be over if Luca Gallo has anything to do with it. Only one problem ... Luca has always fancied Bella Riela.. daughter of his enemy..oh boy.
Now the fun begins.
Luca tries to help Bella with a few mishaps, flooding in flat, broken car etc but he does win her round BUT they get both more than they ever bargained for,. Their chemistry is off the charts and it only takes 1 night......a baby. If that isn’t enough, family disputes start up again. Even through all the mayhem, Luca will do anything to protect Bella.
A fast paced story of mafia links, feuds, control, romance, passion and so much more. Loved it.

Can two rival mafia families be brought back together by an unlikely romance and a baby?

Baby For The Kingpin is the first book by Melinda Minx that I've read. I very much enjoyed the book and will be looking to read more by her. This story was interesting and funny and don't forget the steamy sexy times. It's got that Romeo & Juliet star-crossed lovers theme but set within the mafia. I could tell you a bit about the plot but I'd suggest you read the book description because I think it does a really good job of giving you an idea of what you're about to read. I would definitely recommend you one-click or borrow Baby For The Kingpint with KU now. There's NO cliffhangers and NO cheating. And definitely a HEA! I really enjoyed reading this book. I really love the fact there is a mafia romance attached to the storyline. There is always intrigue, suspense, thill and danger and who would not love to read a book with all this entertainment? Bella is a mafia princess who has managed to seperate herself from that world and is going to school. She is a really determined women who wants to do the right thing. Luca has always wanted to be with her but has seen her as the unattainable women but he wants to be better for her. He is really tough guy but also really good. You will need to read to find out if he can win her.

Melinda wrote a very entertaining love story between two children of mafia families. Yes, they're of age. Ha ha! Bella longed to stay clear of her family, not wanting to retain ties with them due to mafia drama. Luca is the current head of his family due to his father's death. Explosive chemistry between the two main characters and next thing you know, there's a baby on the way.

The chemistry between Luca and Bella is believable. The humor provided by Gio is platable. This book is fast paced and very entertaining. If you like a quick read with interesting characters, a bit of humor, drama and mayhem, you will definitely enjoy this book.

Luca and Bella's story is not the norm when it comes to crime family storylines. It is a mafia story, that tells of two people falling in love, with Bella becoming pregnant, and how they try to make it work. Just how do you do that when you are Luca, head of a crime family, and the woman you are in love with is from a family you have been at war with? There is a lot of originality with some unexpected twists that the reader won't see coming. This was such an enjoyable story and a bit different from the standard mafia story, that I read it almost straight through to Luca and Bella's HEA. A book I would recommend. I would like to thank the author for gifting me with "Baby for the Kingpin". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4.5 Stars

Luca and Bella have been on each others radar for years but their families are bitter enemies now and they have denied the attraction. Now that he is the boss of his family, he is willing to take a chance on getting with the princess. It will make his enemies even angrier but he will not be denied her or their baby.

I really enjoyed this mob romance. Luca and Bella are perfect for each other in many ways. They work as a couple and certainly understand the lifestyle. I love how protective he is of her and his determination to keep them together.

A Review of Baby For The Kingpin by Melinda Minx

Luca and Bella - 4.5 Stars

What a wonderful storyline this turned out to be. Bella is the princess of her mobster father, but she does everything to stay out of that life and live as normal as possible. Luca now leads his family, after his father's death. Bella's father and the rest of her family wants Luca dead as well, so when they find out he knocked her up, the $hit is going to hit the fan. With the two extra books that are included, this is definitely well worth the price to purchase.

It's been a while since I've read anything by Melinda Minx. I hate that it's been so long because I enjoy her books. I wasn't disappointed with this one! The plot was interesting while being a little different that normal. The story-line flowed smoothly throughout. I loved the characters and how well-developed they were. I just wished things would have gone deeper between Bella and her roommate. That could have been some good drama there. I loved that they got their HEA. I can't wait to see what's next from Melinda.

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. I truly enjoyed this book. First of all, I loved the names of the main characters, Bella and Luca. Bella is a mafia princess whose cut herself off from her mafia family to be a regular girl. Luca is the newest kingpin of his family and he’s always had eyes for Bella. Finally able to get her to agree to a date and things get hit and heavy at Luca’s place. Bella learns she’s pregnant and doesn’t want her child to have anything to do with the mafia. She informs Luca and he’s determined to show Bella he’s changing his ways. Hot and steamy mixed with danger and deception. Great book!

Bella wants nothing to do with her old life. She's cut ties with her family and all that comes with that life. Which means Luca gallo. Her family and his have been at War for years. That's right War, a mafia War. Bella's been having bad luck and the last thing she needs is Luca coming around. But Lucas determined to have her at least once and so the Story begins. This is a good story there are few parts that are a little unbelievable but it is fiction. Luca and Bella are good together. Loved Gio, hope he get's a story of his own. Looking foward to what Melinda comes out with next.
