This historical novel describes the natural history of wetland wildlife that inhabit Canan Valley, set against a background of major events that occurred from 1885 through 2002. It is the result of Dr. Michael's experiences in Canaan Valley, spanning some thirty years of work. Field research associated with the Davis Power Plant Project from 1972 through 1993 provided the opportunity to monitor wildlife. Library research conducted while working under contract with the Canaan Valley Institute provided the opportunity and inspiration to document the chronology of events experienced by Canaan Valley wildlife. Professional efforts, blended with personal interests, provided a unique and unparalleled knowledge of Canaan Valley wildlife.
