کتاب «وودی آلن» نوشته‌ی «مارتین فیتس جرالد» است. این کتاب از مجموعه‌ی «کتاب کوچک کارگردانان» درباره‌ی فیلم‌سازان بزرگ جهان است که در این جلد به وودی آلن می‌پردازد. مطالب کتاب در مقدمه‌ای با جهان کلی آثار فیلم‌ساز شروع، سپس به‌تفکیک، فیلم‌های آلن مورد نقد و بررسی قرار داده می‌شود. در ذیل هر فیلم در ابتدا اطلاعاتی از شناسنامه‌ و داستان فیلم را می‌خوانیم. در ادامه جنبه‌های فرم، ایده‌های تصویری، درون‌مایه، حاشیه‌های فیلم و... مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار می‌گیرد

کلا مجموعه کتاب بدی نیست اما واقعا ترجمه و ممیزی از لذت مطالعه اش کم می کند. وقتی کل داستان فیلم خلاصه میشود در [...] یعنی بی توجهی به مخاطب. اگر وقت دیدن کل آثار یک کارگردان را ندارید و یا با سیر فکری و فیلمی کارگردانی قصد آشنایی دارید، این کتاب و مجموعه اش کتاب های خوبی هستند و به شما کمک می کنند مخاطب بهتری برای سینما باشید.
