Reviewed by http://bookaddict.live, When Isabella arrives at a hospital to continue her nurse training, all she hears is Dr Roman is a miracle worker and saves lives no one else could. Roman notices Isabella straight away, and tries to keep his distance. Fortunately for us Dr Love fails and we have a hot romance between Isabella and Roman which soon becomes a serious relationship. This is an unusual book but I enjoyed every minute. This starts as an ordinary romance until Isabella discovers Roman is a werewolf. When the local pack starts causing trouble in the Bayou, we have action and adventure. Working with Isabella, Henrietta a voodoo queen as they try to save all patients in the hospital. I didn’t notice the narration, which is a compliment because I wasn’t pulled from the story once.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Taylor Haiden. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
I was provided an ARC copy of this book. What follows is an honest review.
When you get to read ARCs you get a lot of different styles of books, and even some mixed ones at that. This is one of those mixed ones. One part horror/fantasy. One part romance. I think you get the idea. While this is not my style of book, I will still give it a review based on the writing.
Isabella is a nurse trainee from a small Kansas town in a backwoods town in Louisiana to do her nurse residency. Dr. Roman is a doctor from there who, with the skill he seems to have could be practicing in the big city, but wants to stay right where he is at. All the woman seem to fall in love with him, including Isabella. He is what you call a player.
Everyone tells Isabella that Doctor Roman is not goodnews. You might think she would listen and pay attention. Might not be much of a story if she did. She just has to know how he is healing these patients who are incurable. Without giving too much of a spoiler, you might look at the name of the book for an idea.
The book is written well. There are no obvious plot holes. characters seem to be well written with a good ballance of self preservation and desire to be in a loving relationship.
While the book was enojoyable, there were several intimate scenes. If you do not mind that or can read around things you may enjoy the book.
Because I cannot half stars and it has one of the things I hate, I had to drop a star. I do not mind setting up for a sequel. It mind cliffhangers. Other than that, it was an enjoyablet story of a type I do not normally read.
Werewolf M.D.: A Paranormal Shifter Doctor Romance By:Taylor Haiden This is an Awesome Beginning... I love the unexpected twist this Werewolf story takes... A Tortured Soul, a Sweet Midwestern Nurse, a Voodoo Witch Doctor, a Hostage, & an Evil Pack all explode into healing, action, passion, & perceived betrayal in Taylor Haiden's "Werewolf M.D.: A Paranormal Shifter Doctor Romance!" Taylor Haiden's got a gift for storytelling, & this book sucks you right in from the beginning... You'll be happily flipping pages until the end to find out what happens, only to discover there's definitely more to come & the story's not quite finished yet... That's Right!!! You are going to be Panting like a DOG IN HEAT waiting for the next installment (Ohhh yes! The pun's intended. Lol!!)! I was gifted an ARC of Taylor Haiden's "Werewolf M.D.: A Paranormal Shifter Doctor Romance" via Booksprout; I enjoyed reading this 1st installment of what's sure to be an amazing series... I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens in the lives of these characters!! All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given. Until next time... Happy Reading!
Yes, paranormal romance – I was missing that actually – with a shape shifter. I actually do like these books and I like that forever mating and all these things we all Romance Lovers are already used to. This book comes with something that looks fresh but also overlooks some of the items I personally like.
Let’s take them one by one. Isabella comes to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana looking to put to good use her experience as a nurse and hopes to learn as much as possible from the doctor in town who seems to perform miracles. Little did she expect to be surrounded by so much impossible. Luckily, the good doctor is smart, handsome and so much more. The bond between them happens mostly because she just can’t stay away – even if warned. When a local pack seem to want more, things get crazier and crazier.
I liked the idea of using one’s abilities for good and as well Isabella’s persistence. She wants to understand how Doctor Roman performs his healing. When things heat up, she never loses faith. Roman is strong and knows to stand his ground. His mature character is more than visible. The romance between the two starts pretty well, but evolves pretty fast.
And time to mention some items that I did not enjoy that much. Starting with the basics, I do not like the cover – I apologize as well to the young man (probably same age as mine), he is good looking, but I would have expected something different. I missed the fated mate trope, it would have fitted perfectly (I am a fan of tropes, if done properly and in this case I think it could have been very easily included and could have justified how fast these two fall in love). Lastly, I would like to mention that I did not particularly enjoy the narration. I did not dislike it, but the difference between Isabella and Roman was too little when it came to voice acting. Other than that, not many complains.
All in all, I was left wishing to know more of the story and that is a great thing. I cannot wait to start with book two and see what else happens next. We are left with a good cliffhanger so beware! Happy reading and stick around to see more. 3.5 stars for now.
>Book review – Werewolf M.D. >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Paranormal Shifter Doctor series and ends in a cliffhanger. Roman is a playboy shifter ER doctor. He is described as a man whore, but there aren’t any instances of any of his ex’s causing problems or being jealous when Roman dates Isabella. Isabella is a student nurse in her residency. She is warned away from Roman, but they are both attracted to each other. The ominous warnings from Isabella’s roommates come across as silly, rather than serious. The warnings are about weird goings on in the town, hospital and with Dr. Roman. >Once Isabella learns about shifters, she is amazingly calm. The universe this story is set in does not have humans knowing about shifters. A witch, Henrietta, is the daughter of an ex of Roman’s. The most shocking part of the story comes when Roman forgets that Henrietta is the daughter and not the mother. Once again, Isabella is forgiving. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. There is a lot of action, but the romance fell flat. There isn’t any chemistry and Roman destroys any positive feelings with his actions. Even though the book ends in a cliffhanger, I don’t think I will want to read what comes next. I am giving this story 3 stars.
Mr. Bradley is a pretty good narrator. Can’t think of him as a voice actor since while listening to him I just couldn’t picture the female characters. You can’t miss that it’s a male reading the female parts. That didn’t stop my enjoyment of having him read to me though. He had me hoping to take a road trip and taking this book with me – looking forward to playing tourist.
I loved how this story feeds into my belief that we don’t know anything about those around us. We pass by people all the time and since they’re a stranger you have no preconceived notions about their life story. That also includes the people you work with. That’s what I enjoyed about our author. Makes the stuff we don’t see believable. Although I would probably freak out if I came into contact with one of her minor characters. The epilogue was very easy to picture how our main characters were acting. The narrator does a great job when it came to the foreign language you’ll hear spoken. And that ending had me ready to get my copy of Werewolf Epidemic to see what’s going to happen – especially since both the author and narrator left me hanging.
The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
kindle unlimited, have read some of this writer's books, written under different name, so wanted to give this one a look. HOWEVER, I am not a fan of twilight etc or 'romance' or pseudo romance so think what you will about the rating. To me, with that in mind, would normally say 3 but since amazon considers that NOT really 'okay' but bad/negative, sticking with the 4 until amazon changes ok being 'negative'
His medical miracles are too good to be true. This aloof doctor's methods are less than conventional. What better way to save a patient, than by biting them?
Fresh out of nursing school, Isabella struggles to save her dying patients while vying for the attentions of a doctor who is too hot to handle. Will Isabella fall for the charm of this hard-body physician with a kind smile and the “Miracle Doctor” reputation?
Can anything stop the double-edged virus as it courses through the small hospital in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana?
Contains bonus content, high-heat scenes and action-based violence.
Dr. Roman Bellvue was considered the “Miracle Dr.”; everyone wanted to work with him and be him. But there’s only one Dr. Roman at Breaux Bridge’s hospital, St. Martins. Naïve nurse Isabella DeVaughn arrives and is immediately fascinated and attracted to Dr. Roman. But Dr. Roman is extremely secretive as to his “miracle methods” of saving terminal patients. That is, until one night when it all goes wrong…. Isabella is determined to discover his secret, and when she does… well…. All **** breaks loose. Despite the catastrophic outcome, Isabella overcomes her fear and forgives Dr. Roman for his mistake. Falling ever deeper in lust with the gorgeous doctor, Isabella finds herself threatened by a local gang: The Black Claw. But Dr. Roman is determined to protect Isabella and the town from the gang, and desperate times call for desperate measures...
Fast paced and complex, this book races from scene to scene. The ending hints as to the next book in the series. All in all an enjoyable read.
Prescription for Romance (Disclaimer: I was provided an Advanced Readers Copy of the book, decided to read it and provide my honest review.) Werewolf M.D., A Paranormal Shifter Doctor Romance by Taylor Haiden is a light cozy read meant to entertain and that it does. It is definitely a page-turner as I read it in one day – couldn’t put it down. One particular thing that truly endeared me to the story was the strong women. The author truly demonstrated his strength in an ability to develop strong women characters integrated into the underlying structure of the storyline. And as a woman reader, I loved it. The ending was a perfect cliffhanger for a book two. With fingers crossed and a lot of hope, I will be waiting for it to come out. My RECOMMENDATION if you enjoy danger and romantic sauciness buy the book, find your comfy reading spot and enjoy. You will not be disappointed. –Tex P.S. After reading, I bought the book. I may want to read it again.
This is an easy going enjoyable read that got better the further you read. The story-line was good and the action got better further in but the first part of the story just didn't have that special something that makes me not want to not put a book down. Then the end is the complete opposite and ends on a cliffhanger that has you wanting to reach for the next book to find out what happens next? In my honest opinion, Isabella character need work as she just isn't consistent. The book starts with her not fitting in with her new housemates and even though she doesn't actually spend much time with them for a friendship to build, later on, she is ready to put her life on the line for one of them? If you enjoy Paranormal romance and are just looking for an easy quick read and don't mind a cliffhanger ending, then you will enjoy this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow what an amazing twist on werewolf shifter doctor stories. Dr Roman is a shapeshifting werewolf he uses his saliva to heal people, Isabella is a new nurse at ST Martins hospital and she now works for Dr Roman and she is excited because he is well known for his miracle cures. Dr Roman talks to Isabella and he knows straight up that she is his mate and Isabella finds out exactly what he is and how he cures people. Isabella is warned that Roman is such a ladies man but she takes no notice, there is a werewolf pack that is out to get Roman and they make his life hell but all he cares about is keeping his mate safe. Action, drama, suspense, kidnaping and more is what you will find in this story and it will keep you entertained right up until the end but there is also a cliffhanger so bring on book 2 I can’t wait. I highly recommend this book.
I liked the plot of this book however I feel like it was kind of slow. I wanted a little bit more connection to Isabella and Roman and between them as well. I feel like there was more telling than showing. However, towards the end of the book things got a lot more exciting and it moved a lot faster but then it ended on a cliffhanger just as things really got going.
The narrator did a pretty good job on the performance. I'm not wholly convinced they were the best fit for the book as far as the sound of their voice in general, but I am not unhappy with how they performed. Overall things were clear and character voices were distinguishable and consistent.
I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
A Doctor you can count on. The characters and the story line in this book is interesting and will pull you in. You will not want to put it down. You learn the characters and even consider them as friends by the time you have finished the book . I have to apologize to the author of this book. I love Taylor Haiden's work and I had promised a timely review on the book. No excuse except I have been ill and my schedule was jumbled. I highly recommend anything written by Taylor. An wonderful talent.
I left this review voluntarily I did read an ARC copy of the book but the review is all mine and given freely.
A fun and entertaining story with a twist on the Doctor nurse love story. It's the story of how new nurse Isabella takes her first job out of school and ends up falling for the yummy Miracle Doctor. Add in the twist that the Doc is a werewolf and it makes the story that little bit different and highly entertaining. There were a few steamy love scenes that did not distract from the paranormal story part. Add in some action and bad guys and I got a good story that kept me reading to the end. Of course now I need the next one to see what happens next due to how it ended.
I liked this book, which was original and well-written. With great characters that really drive the plot, some great fight scenes, and some adult scenes (but only those that really fit within the story, not excessive ones for the sake of it), this is a great book that I would definitely recommend to all adults who like werewolf stories. And with the ending to the story, I'm definitely looking forward to reading book two in the series! NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
A bit of a twist on the medical profession. Roman is one of the hottest doctors at the hospital, and don't hurt matters that he also seems to have a miracle cure for certain patients. But just what could that be? Throw in Isabella, an up and coming nurse, just starting and wanting a change from her life in Kanas. And you find yourself with a bit of an interesting story. Not to mention a witch doctor by the name of Henrietta. Throw in a few people that want him to join their little group, and you have a very interesting little story.
Actually 3.5 stars.... A young woman comes to the Bayou area as a nurse intern and falls for one of the doctors there. Unknowingly she enters the dangerous politics of the werewolves of the area and creates a power imbalance. Luckily for her, she has a strong ally in a voodoo witch to help her in scary situations. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The story starts slow and like a typical teenage love story, but half-way through the story the pase picks up and it becomes a good read. Sadly the story's epilogue ends with a cliff-hanger...
Very well written paranormal story. Great storyline and plot. Characters well described and develops nicely through the story. The mix of romance, steamy attraction, paranormal, mystery and shifter makes it a story that is different. I like this mix, I was caught in it from first to last page. The story is of a nice length and the depth to the characters is fine. The heroin is strong and I like that. An entertaining story about a trainee nurse and a doctor. They have an overwhelming attraction but can they make it work?
This was an interesting story I like the overall concept of the story, I do wish that the chapters point of views were a little clearer than they were. The main female character had a lot going for her and I liked how she was able to keep a really clear head throughout the events of the book. Dr. Roman seems as dreamy as the others all state and I like how he is portrayed. He is very centered and down to earth, if not a bit of a whore before. I'm interested to see what happens next. check out more reviews at underthebookmark.com
After a relatively slow start Werewolf MD turned into a roller coaster ride of a story. The legend of the Rougarou set in a small town in the bayous of Louisiana sets the stage perfectly and allows for werewolves, voodoos, witch doctors and gris gris. The main characters are likable and hold your interest and the dual pov is well done. The story ends in a bit of a cliffhanger but the main storyline of this book is resolved. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Werewolf M.D. by Taylor Haiden is a first in series. I really enjoyed this read. I liked that Isabella, our heroine, is a strong female nurse with a backbone and our hero, Roman is a sexy were that is hiding in plain site. There is a lot of action, steamy sex scenes and a wonderful cast of secondary characters that you definitely want to learn more about. This is a first in series, so it does end on a cliffhanger. If you like Patricia Briggs, then you should give Taylor Haiden a try. Fun, fast paced and highly entertaining!
Got this because the title was so on the nose that I thought this would probably be horrible in the "so bad it's good" kind of way. It surprised me by having a decent story. It was also fun to have a story set in Breaux Bridge, a city I drive through frequently when going to Baton Rouge for work.
The narrator was pretty good with the accents. The only detraction on this first part was that in a few places, the story felt like it was doing a lot of telling instead of showing. I guess that's one way to keep the pace moving.
Sweet not so naive Isabelle finds that she's in a new town and a new job with a pull to the most sexy of men working in the same building. They work along side each other and the scent of desire is born. The legend behind the beings. The unseen turf war going on right under the noses of the people. The bayou was a perfect backdrop for this one and narrator Hugh Bradley did a good job bringing to life all the various Cajun accents and more.
A lot of problems to keep something hidden that you don't want to be known. Then you have a bad guy with a pack and you have no one to help. A lot of excitement, danger and loving. I don't LIKE cliffhangers. To be continued in Book Two in the Werewolf M.D. Series. I received an advance reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book. I liked Isabella immediately. Roman was a little more difficult to warm up to but eventually turns out to be a pretty good guy. There could have been more emotional depth to the characters; it didn’t detract from the story but would have been an enhancement. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book I have read by this author. If you are into shifters reads you can't go past this one it has action steamy scenes and one hell of a good plot. I'm looking forward to the next book because this one finished on a cliffhanger. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via booksprout
I was hooked from the very beginning of the book down until the end. It was captivating and entertaining. I loved it. The storyline was spot on and was well executed. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Dr. Roman is a hot doctor who has a miraculous cure for his patients. Isabella is a nurse who is falling for this hot doctor. Eventually Roman discovers that she is his mate and so the romance begins. The author provided great chemistry, a great plot, and a great lead-in for the next book in the series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book in the Paranormal Shifter Doctor series. Overall, I enjoyed my listening. The storyline is original, fast-paced, suspenseful and intriguing. Unfortunately, the story ends with a cliffhanger. The narration is good. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
