There’s no limit to what’s between us...

Marlena
Everyone has their limits. Mine? It's one that should have never been crossed. Now thanks to my ex-boyfriend, all of Hollywood thinks the only way I get my roles is by way of the “casting couch.” You can imagine how my auditions go these days. This town has enough real scandals without him adding fake ones to the mix. But I have a plan. And it was going so well... until Jude Fisher came along.

Jude
When my ex-wife sold the footage of herself cheating on me with another man, I was done. With scandal, with her, with all the fakeness this industry thrives on. Finding her as the only actress up for co-lead in my new movie was the last thing I needed. Then Marlena Taylor auditioned, and I found everything I need. A gifted actress, a natural in and out of character… and a woman I can’t resist.

All she’s missing is knowledge about the lifestyle—my lifestyle.

I'm more than happy to tutor her—to show her the ropes, if you will. I’ll teach her everything about the games. The rules. The dynamic.

I'll teach her everything, but I refuse to become intimate. That’s my hard limit.

But we’re quickly finding out that there’s no limit to what’s between us.

Katana Collins is a USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels, novellas, and comic books in a variety of genres. She is most known for her sensual contemporary romances and her wildly popular comic book— Batman White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn with DC Comics.

When she was younger and stole her mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight, she wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse … she wanted the bad boy on a motorcycle.

An avid animal lover, she lives in Portland, Maine with her kind of mean cat, derpy lab-pitt mix, mellow chihuahua, and very not mellow cairn terrier puppy. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband somewhere in that mix, too.

She can usually be found in a coffee shop with her nose buried in a laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.

She loves connecting with book lovers like herself, and fellow sassy storytellers, so feel free to drop her an email, visit her on her website. She also loves connecting on Instagram, Facebook or in her reader group, Kat’s Kittens!

Callback is my first read by Miss Collins and I am loving it. The BDSM romance is nothing new. But Miss Collins done a good job bringing a uncertain Dom, Jude.

Although I love Jude' dominate side, I also love his vulnerability. How he approached Marley with uncertainty. Their chemistry is hot and sizzling. The banter is fun and sassy especially from Marley.

I am looking forward to read another book from Miss Collins.

Sexy, sultry, and a bit of sweet is the best way I can describe Katana Collins latest offering in Callback. One of my favorite authors because of her fun antics on social media and her willingness to always try something new in her writing, she hits all the marks for an author who I have no doubt will be around for a long, long time.

So, grab a fan and a box of salted caramel for one sexy sweet read!

This was my first book by this author and won't be my last. Callback was hot, funny, cute, and sad. Marlena got on my nerves a little bit but when she was Poppy I loved her. Jude was amazing and I really hope we get Ash's story.

DNF at 73% - but, I skimmed to the end. Does that count....?
My opinion is clearly not a popular one, so don't let my thoughts sway you. You may like it. This is merely my opinion after I "read" it.

I always love meeting a new author. It's always fun to fall in love with their characters, their storyline, and their vision. It's also a gamble sometimes, because you don't know their characters, their storyline, or their vision. Sadly, as good/hot as everyone said this one was, this one did not work for me at all .

A number of reasons influenced my decision about this one, allowing me to mentally chalk it up as a loss. In the beginning, it was the heroine that got off on the wrong foot with me. We are in her head a bit, but she was upset about all these men taking advantage of her in her casting calls/auditions that she was doing for her roles in the industry. Ok, I get it....there are jerks out there. I am not denying that one bit. However, stop repeating that!!! I don't need to hear it all the darn time. I don't need to be constantly reminded about a problem....set the stage, let me know, but don't repeatedly work it in to the conversation, because it gets really old really quick.

This heroine, it sounded like the author was trying to make her sound like a feisty and strong-willed woman. Unfortunately, she came across as whiney and shallow, almost insipid.....but why? I think a lot of it had to do with her wishy-washyness. I didn't like the "Oooh, I want to learn this lifestyle for my role", and then turn around and roll your eyes when your Dom commands you to do something. Most definitely, do not make some snide comment about not being treated like a child. Uh....? Did you forget that you signed up for this? You wanted to learn? Did you forget that he is your Dom and you are the sub??? He is supposed to tell you what to do. You are supposed to learn to trust him with your desires, your needs, your pleasure. Not give him attitude at every turn, learning or not. You have to immerse yourself and learn, not be a brat every single time he says to do something. Ugh...she drove me absolutely insane. I couldn't with her...not even a little bit. She was completely disrespectful.

Oh....and you tell me what sub gets away with smacking her Dom across the face? Go ahead, I'll wait.

Jude.....ah yes. HE was a sweetheart. It was a little different in the fact that he wasn't exactly dominant and commanding, but he was a softer version of one. Not really bad, but not my favorite. I like a man in touch with his feelings, but I like my man strong, too. He didn't come across that way in the very beginning when he hid from some people on a studio lot tour. Uh....hello? A.) You're an actor, so people want to see you in your "world" and B.) She jumped in and was there to deflect and protect him. Why is she protecting him? I just didn't understand that little exchange at all. In some aspects he felt insecure to me, and he wasn't exactly as assertive in this role as he was seemingly written to be. His personality didn't seem to fit that of a dominant. So, while I actually enjoyed Jude as a character, I didn't fully connect with him in every aspect of this story.

The cover is absolutely gorgeous. The synopsis grabbed me immediately and made me want to read it. Unfortunately, that's it for me. The rest just didn't work....and it sucks when a book that sounded so good fell so short.

My safe Word is: 🍒Popping

This book was amazing!

And after reading, I feel schooled on many things in the BDSM according to Jude & Marly.

From the beginning to the end of this book, it gave me the feels, angst, plenty of sexy times, and the anticipation of what was going to happen with these characters.

I was entranced just like Marly into the world of BDSM through her eyes as well as Jude's.

Loved this book has duel POV from the main characters so us readers were not left wondering what each one was thinking.

Just go One click this book and find out why being curious is the best recipe for sinful fun times.

This book. You guys… I hope I’m able to convey my love for this story in my review. By the end of the first chapter, I knew I was hooked. I didn’t want to stop reading. Days later and I was still thinking about it.

Yes, Callback is a love story.
But it’s so. much. more.
It’s a lesson in trust. It’s about letting go.
It’s a passion-filled journey and an education about a certain lifestyle.
A story that made my heart feel full & satisfied & so happy.

The chemistry between Jude & Marlena was strong, sizzling, delicious. From the first chapter I was captivated by Jude. He is just so... I don’t even know how to describe him. Of course, caring, generous, and sexy AF, but he’s more than that. He just DID IT FOR ME. The intensity of the looks he gives, the things he says, and *how* he says them. Seriously. *fanning myself* When Marly got chill bumps from a soft touch or a simple command, I swear *I* got them. It’s as if I could hear his voice… that smooth, velvety goodness... and I felt it all the way down to my toes. I could feel the power of Jude. And even though he is the definition of a sexy, alpha man, he also comes with weaknesses. When his vulnerabilities made their appearances, it was heartbreakingly beautiful. I couldn’t help but love this man. Jude has stolen my heart, and I don’t want it back. #masterjudeisMINE

Marlena…I absolutely adored her. I admired her. I could relate to her in so many ways. She is so organized, always in control, and unwilling to trust anyone. I loved watching her transformation from having control, to giving it up. From being afraid to trust, to giving her heart completely.

The love between these two is powerful, intoxicating, and it made me crave every single page of their story.

Ms. Collins’ flawless writing pulled me into this book. I couldn’t get enough of Jude and Marly. Scenes were so vividly written, making them so easy to imagine, making me FEEL everything. Full of heart-pounding goodness that left me breathless. Callback gave me all the right feels in all the right places.

The salted caramel scene? Such a simple act, yet the way it was written was pure perfection. To evoke those feelings in me…pure genius.

BDSM is usually not my cup of tea. But this. The way the author so eloquently described and explained things…absolutely perfect. I am in awe, really. Thank you, Ms. Collins, for opening my eyes.

This book consumed me, left me breathless, and satisfied me on so many levels. It will definitely be a top read of 2018.

description
Holy hell this book was hot. It's a story of betrayal and learning to trust again. Letting someone into your life and your secrets can be the hardest thing after you've been used and hurt. This is the case for both Marley and Jude, and they make an excellent couple.

The chemistry was top notch. What got me the most was Jude's vulnerability. He just wanted someone that he could live and trust, but he was certainly jaded by his history. It was damn hot when he gave his commands. I loved that Jude took Marley in to show her the lifestyle of BDSM in order to prepare for a role she was auditioning for. Jude was an amazing dom, and his time teaching Marley proved that.

Oh my, Marley. She had her own secrets, that weren't only hers. She never spilled that secret until her best friend encouraged her to. She was an amazing friend, and I loved watching her come to the realization she was submissive. She has her own trust issues from a betrayal. All auditions turn into her being hit on. This new audition is huge for her and she finds herself loving her introduction into the lifestyle and the dom teaching her.

This was my first book by this author. She did a wonderful job as a storyteller. I loved her descriptions and details. She had it pretty well nailed. From the beginning Marley and Jude had chemistry and the more they learned about each other, the more they found they had in common. They each needed someone they were able to open up to and showed that with the right person, it's easy to be vulnerable.

3.5 stars.

This was a bit of an atypical 'entry-to-BDSM' story in which the whole basis around our heroine's introduction to that lifestyle is in the spirit of researching her newest movie role. The hero, however, is a seasoned professional in that way of life and assists her in the only way he knows how - having her reside with him at an exclusive BDSM club for a week.

There's the prevalent layer of unease as is typical for newcomers, but as the kinky acts progress, the story becomes pretty insta-lovey. A week, to me, is a really tough line to traverse if you're trying to establish a lasting and believable relationship, and a majority of said week, the two characters hardly trusted each other to reveal their secrets. Didn't work for me.

However, the lead up to them becoming physical was just the right amount of 'delayed gratification'.

Not. For. Me....

Ok,didn’t like Marley ,I was trying ,I was sooo trying here, even though in this situation personally I’d be in the Domme role,NOT not the submissive role...
And while I too have been to Fetlife ( 1st time I went there, whistles , well let’s just say the things I saw about gender fluidity and a woman who seemed to want to cuckhold her husband in some rather extreme ways and furries and etc.,deep sigh, it blew my mind at seeing some of the stuff out there and I joked for weeks I would need a good therapist and some puppets to work out what I saw there) and I liked the ideas and research that seems to have gone into this but I couldn’t get past chapter 8, one) I feel Jude was in the wrong to be drinking one martini ok, I guess but two ? Even light play needs to have a clear head you should NEVER drink and play, neither the D or the s,it’s throws of reactions and responses and judgement ,things that any good Dom. should be monitoring to stay on top of and controlling as needed...
That plus my dominant heart just couldn’t take the thought of a woman sitting at ANY mans feet and eating food off his pants leg especially with others watching and her enjoying it...
This is just me but that’s not sexy to me, it makes me want to punch someone ...
And every time she got excited by this man she barely knows calling her a “good girl” , I wanted to scream...
I don’t care if I were a 109, you wanna tick me off or make me angry ? Call me a “good girl” and my first thought will be wanting to smack you... O Hell, no...
I usually only read books with male subs, because female subs. effect me like this but the story sounded soo interesting and intriguing I wanted to give it a try, but I was having a hard time connecting with Marley from the get go,and then when we see her plunge into this w/out seeing her discuss this w/Omar and then lying about reading the contract for the club ( which of course is VERY VERY important) and then basically enjoying the humiliation of her treatment , I knew this just wasn’t for me...
Think is all D/s relationships need to certain rules ,safe, sane, consensual, respect for one another, and no matter your role be it D or s both are there to serve the others needs....
Both have power and control ,just in different ways...
And personally that scene in the lounge there wasn’t my thing, while Jude did have to step up and set limits and boundaries and take control that had been given,I wouldn’t have been sitting in a chair with my sub at me feet like that....
To me that’s rather an old school thing, that unless my sub. requested that sorta thing I personally wouldn’t do...
But then again male subs are usually very big on humiliation, why ? It varies from person to person...
This review isn’t to sway and I’m not sure if I’ve informed ,I just know this wasn’t for me and I needed to get this out to move on...
If BDSM w/female submissives is your thing, then you might enjoy this,if not ?
Then well it’s KU....
Thank you Ms. Collins, all the best..

Sexy with a WOW factor that I can’t explain! A love story with so much more. Ashley @ White Hot Reads

I am finding lots of new authors this year and this is one of them. This will not be my last book by Katana. Katana made me fall hard for both Jude and Marley and I did not want to put the book down. Not only did I love the story but I learned more about the BDSM world. Learning from the characters about how the BDSM world is not just about the sex but about the control. The pull to loving these charters and pulling for their relationship is what kept me reading. I didn’t want this book to end! This book is not just about the BDSM but a true love story that shows how two people will react to all the trials and tribulations that are thrown at them.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Right now, I'm perplexed by the number of glowing ratings/reviews.

I get BDSM is not the same for all, but the 'declarations' of what it is in this book gives me pause. I'm no expert, but I find it hard to believe most Doms start as subs, especially when the statement comes from a man. But hey, what do I know? Perhaps dominant men like to bow before women before realizing they'd rather whip them, and submissive women suddenly want to crack a whip. "Shrugs"

Considering the entire premise isn't working for me right now, I'm going to shelve this one for another day.

And once you've had a dog called Poppy, the nickname is just...

EDIT to above. I finished the book but skimmed so much, I can't fairly rate it. But it would be fair to say, it wasn't a winner for me.

Wow! This is a great exploration of the BDSM lifestyle. Marlena and Jude explore what a submissive/dominant relationship means. He teaches her why people crave this connection, why women surrender but still in fact have all the power. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the respectful way the lifestyle is explained. Great page turning read. Seriously hot. Also have to say I am excited to read Ash's story next.

I received an arc of this book.

Callback is a steamy, sizzling erotic blend of deliciousness that will hook you from the first page in. This was my first book by Katana Collins and it will not be my last. Ms. Collins takes the reader on an emotional journey with Jude and Marly. We get to see their ups and downs and how they handle everything together and separately. They have both fallen for people in the business and have been terribly hurt. So when they meet each other, they resist the deep attraction. BDSM features deeply in this book and let me just say WOW. This is one of those stories that is intense, raw, deep, intense and sizzling hot. It’s more than JUST a BDSM story, its all about the emotional journey, the exploration and the depth the main characters. It is a story that stays with you long after you finished reading. Marly is sweet, fun and fabulous. Her quirks will endear her to the readers. Jude is one sexy alpha male who can make any woman sit up and take notice. Their on page chemistry will most definitely set your kindle ablaze. This is a book that is sweetly dark, excellently twisted, and absolutely deliciously romantic. I loved everything about this book and I can't wait to read Ash's story.

It may only be April 1st, but I'm calling it now, Callback will be on my top 10 list at the end of this year. I was absolutely enthralled with this book from the first page. Complex, flawed, and just SO interesting, Marly and Jude have a story that makes you feel like a fly on the wall. The writing puts you into a trance, it just consumed me. I've lost track of time reading, but nothing in a long time has taken hold of me the way Callback did.

Mixing in real life current events, Callback is is the ultimate Hollywood romance. While preparing for a role, Marley and Jude go down a rabbit hole together. They have chemistry, wit, and a connection that cannot be denied. The plot was developed, the side characters are intriguing. Callback is going on my MUST READ list. This book had it all. It's well written and has love, friendship, an intense connection between the characters and so spicy.

•••••••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--CALLBACK is the first instalment in Katana Collins’ contemporary, adult SILHOUETTE STUDIOS erotic, BDSM romance series. This is Hollywood star Jude Fisher, and actress Marlena ‘Marly’ Taylor’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jude and Marly) CALLBACK follows the building relationship between movie picture star Jude Fisher, and actress Marly Taylor. Marly’s reputation in Hollywood tanked when her ex-boyfriend launched a smear campaign aiming to destroy our heroine’s career. An audition to star alongside one of Hollywood’s leading men in a new movie focusing on BDSM meant a resurgence in self-esteem but an education into a different side of the Hollywood life. Enter Jude Fisher, Dominant, Hollywood star and the man with whom Marly would fall in love. What ensues is the ‘education’ of Marly Taylor, and the potential fall-out as Marly’s issues of trust, begin to affect her relationship with Jude Fisher.

Marly Fisher’s last relationship destroyed our heroine’s ability to trust, and with it, her ability to accept praise and commendations. With Jude Fisher, our heroine will begin to blossom in her role as a submissive, and leading Hollywood star, a role she questions when fear begins to bloom anew. Jude Fisher is no stranger to scandal: his ex-wife’s betrayal devastated his faith in love and romance but meeting Marly Taylor meant a second chance at a happily ever after, a second chance that will be destroyed by Marly’s inability to trust and let go of the past.

The relationship between Marly and Jude begins as a professional arrangement. Marly must be educated in the ways of a submissive, and a temporary membership at a high-end BDSM club means Marly will be exposed to a lifestyle that has her questioning her desires, actions and emotional fall-out. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense; the BDSM scenes include some bondage, discipline and spanking.

We are introduced to fellow Dominant and Hollywood director Ash Livingston, Dominant and club member Chloe, Jude’s ex-wife and actress Layla Hutson, CEO of Silhouette Studios Richard Blair, and Marly’s best friend, roommate and actor Omar Blake. Ash Livingston’s story line is next Role Play.

CALLBACK is a sexy, spirited and decadent story with familiar scenarios ala 50 Shades of Grey. The premise is imaginative; the characters are realistic and energetic; the romance is emotional and captivating. CALLBACK examines the BDSM lifestyle; the emotional relationship between Dom and sub; and the ramifications of falling in love against the odds.

What a great story! Callback brings two unlikely people together for a movie about BDSM. But when the scarlet that is the front-runner for the lead doesn't really know what she is getting into, the leading man decides to help her out.

This book is such a well-written story that I couldn't put it down. I loved the chats and the storyline. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

I already lost count of how many books I've read by Katana Collins but I can honestly say that she never ceases to amaze me. The books may come from the same mind but they don't resemble each other in any way. They are fresh and completely different from its predecessor and it makes me fall in love with her writing all over again. Is there nothing she can do? She's a mastermind in my eyes and I would love to delve deeper into her brain, for completely selfish reasons. I'll never get tired of Katana Collins and this book has officially won her a spot on my all time favorite authors list.
HOLY. SMOKES. THIS BOOK WAS EPIC.
This book follows Marly, who is auditioning for the lead role in an upcoming BDSM movie. Jude is going to be the main male lead in the film and ends up helping Marly by teaching her all she needs to know about the lifestyle. Of course, things pick up from there and I won't say anymore about that.
I'm not going to lie, Jude drove me completely insane. He ensnared me into his web and refuses to let me go. (Even if he did let me go, I wouldn't leave. No thank you.) The things he said and did had me eating out of the palm of his hand. The way he made his feelings shown had me swooning to no end. He wasn't afraid to show his vulnerability and boy did I admire that in him. So lovable, ugh! He acted nothing like other male characters I've read about and I can only hope we meet again... Maybe in real life too. That would be great.
Marly has turned into one of my favorite female characters ever. (Of course, Jude owns most of me but she has her share too.) Granted, I didn't think this was going to be the case in the start. At first, her naivete made me want to apologize profusely on her behalf. I've never had a character make me feel so ashamed of the things they were spewing. Thankfully, her character development was so beautifully done that it made me toss away my first impressions of her and fall madly in love instead. She became a feisty thing that I couldn't get enough of and she had me eating out of the palm of HER hand in no time.
This book was the perfect blend of humor, heart, and steaminess. It had me laughing out loud more times than I could count and smiling like crazy. The chemistry between these two was so palpable that it had my heart racing wildly. I was so scared it was going to beat out of my chest and splatter into the pages but only because it would've interrupted my reading and I wasn't having any of that. These two were adorable together and they've become one of my favorite couples ever.
I've never read a love story like this one. I've read books about this taboo subject before but Katana's writing made me experience it in an entirely different way. My world was blown away by these 300+ pages and I can't stop thinking about it. I fell deeply and madly in love with every word. It wasn't even about the fiery hot and sizzling chemistry between these characters but about the fact that Katana made this a pleasant learning experience for me. I didn't even notice that Kat was teaching me things until I finished it with knowledge that I didn't have before. She wove it into the story in the most subtle way and I can't appreciate it enough. As far as I know, which is not much, she made this lifestyle justice.
I desperately needed this novel in my life. I was tired of so many brutally devastating reads that this book was heaven sent. Jude and Marly made me feel so calm and secure, which is something I don't think I've ever experienced before. I loved being immersed in their world so much that I found myself feeling hollow inside after reading the last page. I was actually at work when it hit me that I was depressed over the fact that I wasn't with Jude and Marly anymore. It was an extreme loss for me and it still is. This is a book I'm going to be rereading a lot in the future for sure. I can't wait to own this one in physical format so I can sleep next to it and pretend it's Jude... haha.
The sequel is a super highly anticipated read for me now especially after reading that tease at the end of this novel. AH! I need it now!

"Not what I expected, in a good way." ~Misty, White Hot Reads

I thought in the beginning I would for sure be giving this book 5 stars but then something happened. I can't pinpoint exactly what but it's still a pretty great read. I haven't read a BDSM book in awhile due to various reasons so I was a bit hesitant going in this one but came out pleasantly surprised by the end. It wasn't all about the physical aspect of the lifestyle that so many books focus on but more of the emotional and psychological connection the characters have to engage in that had me hooked. It gave me so much more understanding of this world and maybe even why people enjoy it. The scenes were hot, the characters engaged and the story flowed pretty seamlessly keeping me engaged.

I loved Poppy. Due to the plight of the Hollywood life her confidence and reputation had been rocked but she really grew into herself throughout this book. Although from the very beginning you could tell she what side of the coin she would be on in the lifestyle she was still pretty strong and vocal about her feelings and questioned everything. Trust was hard for her but watching her find the strength to hand over control to someone who could ultimately destroy but you found only wanted her happiness was pretty powerful to be a part of.

Jude has his own demons so knowing Poppy was rocking his world from the very beginning was intriguing and I wondered how things would play out. There were so many things working against his true feelings and his the control he had over his emotions was almost mesmerizing. By the end of the book he was truly the one I was rooting for. I needed him to be healed and able to love again.

Finishing this book made me a bit sad but I have to say I think I am a bit more intrigued by Ash's story after meeting him in this book so I will be patiently waiting to read his story. Don't miss out on this book. It was a great start to what I have a feeling will be a great series.

The sexual tension gah!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 I could actually imagine smoke rising from my phone. And when they actually got in on? Whoah Jude & Marlena were incendiary.

Yeah they fell in love a little too fast but eh I don’t care. The characters are fully fleshed out and the MC’s are really likeable and when they got sappy at the end with their love I cried happy tears too.

Ash you delicious sadist I’m coming for you next.

This review is probably the most disjointed and crazy review I’ve ever written but I love this book so much, so just go with me here!

Sexy and sassy! Jude and Marlena will leave an indelible mark on your heart! ~ Heather, White Hot Reads

”Until we know our greatest weakness, we’ll never know our greatest strength.” <— AMEN

This line (and so many others) stick with me after reading Callback. It’s an emotional read, full of depth and exploration. It’s not just about what we think of in a BDSM relationship - lots of sex - it’s about so much more!

“BDSM is about control. It’s about the power dynamic between two people. It’s sexual in nature … but it’s not always about sex.”

Marly is fun and fabulous. She has her quirks that make her identifiable and relatable. Jude is super hot, yet flawed and scared. He’s real. Together they are an explosive pair who learn so much about each other and what they need - on all fronts.

My heart exploded from the feels in this book.
My body was on fire with the intense connection and moments that they experienced.
My mind was held captive by the connection and laughs.

Thank you Katana Collins for your words. I felt like I was part of Jude and Marlena’s story - without being creepy.

**REVIEWED BY CASSIE**

Callback was the first book I have read by Katana Collins and it won' be my last. I loved the Hollywood meets BDSM aspect... so much in fact that her teaser at the end for the next book is KILLING me. This book is scorching hot. I will never look at a scone the same way again.

I instantly loved Marly and her snarky mouth. Her story hits home so well right now with what is going on in Hollywood and that makes it all the more enticing to dive into her and Jude's thoughts. I always enjoy watching the planners/type "A"s fall out in the best ways. I think her developing the ability to let go and trust someone fully rounded her out as a person.

Jude is the type of Dominant I would love to read more about. For once it wasn't an overbearing, too much pain causing, over-the-top Dom (not that I mind reading those types). To see a man who wanted control to really love someone better was fulfilling. He was however intense just like I love them.

Of course with all good Hollywood themed books there had to be some press issues. I really enjoyed that these were minimal and it wasn't a long drawn out process of getting over the rumors/stories. Sometimes that severely alters my opinions of the book.

At the heart of this plot, it is a love story. The extra foreplay, dialogue, and plot make it sizzling and exciting... but I feel like no part got overshadowed. In fact, some of my favorites parts (although again SCONES) were when they laid themselves bare with their secrets and heartaches. It all came to be a cohesive story.  This book is for those who love well plotted BDSM books. This book is for those who want to try a BDSM book out for the first time (it gives you an introduction without too many whips and chains). This book is for anyone who loves hot and spicy scenes.

4.5 Star Review

Wow! This book was H-O-T! I was so surprised by this book. Usually, I'm not a fan of the movie star or rock star romance stories, but this one had BDSM in it, so I gave it a chance and I'm so glad I did!
I loved the story! It was hot and heavy into BDSM and I loved how the main character explores BDSM in order to become a better actress for her newest movie role she hopes to get. But through this research, she learned about herself, more than getting the insight into her character.
A very well written story that left me staying up two nights way past my bedtime in order to complete this story!

Callback is a steamy, smexy page turner and, after reading it, I feel like I took an online course on BDSM and I now have a Master’s degree in it. The class didn’t need any audio media material, it had plenty of explicit and descriptive narrative; I could picture every sizzling lesson plan in my head. It’s the first book in the Silhouette Studios series, and features Marlena and Jude, two actors that have been badly burned by their exes and are afraid of trusting anyone.

After Marlena Taylor broke up with her ex, and he accused her in the media of using him to get a part in the movie he directed, she got the reputation of putting out for a role. After being propositioned and/or sexually accosted at every audition afterwards, she and her best friend, Oscar, fake their engagement. This helped him too; he doesn’t want anyone to know he’s gay so they act like a loving couple.

With Hollywood buzzing about the Oscar worthy movie being cast, Marly really wants the lead. When she’s offered a chance, by the lead actor, to prep and get some inside info for the role before her next callback she jumps at it. After being cast in Rom-Coms, she’s anxious to break out of the typecast and she really wants this role, so she’ll take any help she can get to learn about the lifestyle. It’s not about “Burritos, Doritos, Snickers and M&M's” as she jokingly calls it.

“BDSM is about control. It’s about the power dynamic between two people. It’s sexual in nature … but it’s not always about sex.”

Jude Fisher’s ex-wife, Laylah, was apparently acting throughout their marriage. She fooled Jude into thinking she was a devoted wife while cheating on him to get cast in movie roles. After she was caught in a scandal and they divorced the last thing he needs is for her to be cast as the lead in the new movie his best friend, Ash, is directing.

The Oscar-winning actor would do anything to avoid working with her and when he’s told she and Marlena are both being considered for the lead, and have callback, Jude wants to make sure Laylah doesn’t get the part. He offers Marlena the chance to work with him, for a week, and learn the lifestyle of a submissive; almost like an intensive Method acting workshop, in a way. The lines they say while playing Dom/sub become a little blurry and they both realize they aren't acting anymore.

"When a bird sits in a tree, it never fears the branch breaking. Her trust is not on the branch but on her own wings. Believe in your wings, Marly. People like him...just want to clip your wings and keep you grounded. But you're not meant for the ground."

Lots of secrets and betrayals are revealed while they both get into the part. With both of them having serious trust issues, and not knowing if the other is acting or what is real, there are some things even the best actors can’t fake. The epilogue had me doing a happy dance, I loved it!

Wow! This book was fantastic! It is my first by this author and I look forward to reading more from her!
I am blown away by the unique storyline about an actress, Marly, who in order to get a role in a movie that’s a complete change from her normal roles, goes head first into the world of BDSM with hopefully her soon to be sexy costar,Jude who is an actual Dominant, in order to be authentic in the role. Considering all the BDSM books out there, I don’t recall this kind of a storyline. I couldn’t stop laughing with Marly’s take on the BDSM acronym and how that comes back around later in the sweetest way! I love how detailed and tastefully written the peek into this fascinating world is, but this is anything but just a book about BDSM. Don’t get me wrong the sexy scenes are hotter than hell, but this is at its core a book about two beautiful amazing souls who have been wronged so badly in past relationships. It’s the emotionally charged story of how they learn to trust and love again wholeheartedly while he also helps her explore his world, the BDSM world. Marly comes to realize how much she loves this world and being submissive to Jude and that just makes their connection even stronger. I love the back and forth between this couple, the wit, the sass and the fun, which is just as hot as their chemistry which of course is smoldering hot!
The epilogue is amazing and wonderful and so much more! Jude was swoon worthy before but really amps it up another notch!
After meeting Ash in this book, I am really looking forward to his book next!
I am thankful to have been able to read an ARC of this incredible story courtesy of the author.

Callback by Katana Collins is book #1 of the Silhouette Studios series. Both Marlena Taylor and Jude Fisher have been hurt by past relationships, personally and reputations in the industry. Marly is trying to change the course of her acting career and shed a false reputation she picked up, while Jude is trying to get away from a toxic fiance that used him to further her own career. When Jude sees Marly's audition for a BDSM themed movie he is starring in he sees both her acting talent and a way to have someone other than his ex co-star in the movie and her naturally submissive nature is something he can guide for the movie.

This story, while having strong and well written BDSM themes is more about the journey these characters take. Both have real trust issues and their own ways of handling them. The growth that they are taken through by Ms. Collins is very well written. Jude is masterful and confident, yet still vulnerable. Marly lives in her rules and her head and as Jude guides her she comes into her own.

Overall I very much enjoyed and recommend Callback by Katana Collins. Well written and dynamic it was a sensual, romantic and erotic experience. I can't want for more in the Silhouette Studio series and more from Katana Collins.

(I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

What an amazingly sensual read! I loved Callback whole heartedly!! It was erotic and seductive! When I read the blurb I just knew I was going to love it!! And from the very beginning I was transfixed, lost in the world of BDSM. I haven't read very many BDSM books so I really enjoyed how I was learning right alongside Marly. Every chapter was exciting and had my pulse racing. This books hotness level is like 10! I loved most that Marly and Jude had such a strong emotional connection before they ever become physically intimate. Both are learning to trust and for these two trust doesn't come easy. Marly is an actress trying to make a name for herself and keep away from scandal. Jude is a two time Oscar winning, heartthrob determined to do everything to keep from acting with his ex-wife. Their chemistry is electric, you can feel it running through you as you read. Callback is intense love story that will have you turning pages and biting your lip! This author is new to me, and enjoyed Callback so much I can't wait to see what other books Katana has written. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
