Book 2 in the Chasing the Harlyton Sisters Series and follows the story, Chasing Hadley. This is Not a reverse harem series and does NOT follow the Cursed Hadley series
Hadley Harlyton's life is getting more complicated the longer she remains in Honeyton. It doesn't help that her sisters aren't around, the one thing that's always helped her keep it together.
But she's tough. She always has been.
Still, when Axel and Blaise's dad come to collect on her father's debt, stuff really starts to get out of hand. While she may not want to admit it, Hadley may need some help. And the only person she may be able to turn to for help is her next door neighbor who drives her insane.
But the more time Hadley spends with Blaise, the harder of a time she has convincing herself to stay away from him..

I was a little disappointed, it seemed rushed with the names being mixed up a few times. I am really into the story and i will definitely be continuing to find out what happens but i didn't feel like there was enough that happened in the book, i.e. it was too short for me, maybe that contributed to it feeling rushed for me, and i'm not looking forward to waiting a long time for the next one.
This did not spend enough time in the editing room.
Okay, having said that (or typed it), the story is a good one. This is more of Hadley and Blaise and their connection. I have a feeling this is more a set up for what's to come. It definitely left me wanting more. I will definitely read the other books as well. I just wish they don't take too long to come.
This is good story and love characters especially the relationships of both sets of siblings, but starting to get a bit frustrated with with amount of questions getting unanswered even though we are two books in now. The writing is worth continuing to get the answers.
But still leaves you with a ton of unanswered questions. And it seems a little short too. I do like the Hadley and Blaise chemistry and hope that other relationships arise between the other siblings.
Hadley is a girl who isn't really afraid of anything and is willing to do anything to protect her family. Her mother died a few years ago in a drag race and her father (mel) used to be a detective until her mother passed and he changed. Hadley's father became an addict, cheat etc... anything and everything bad pretty much which left Hadley to look after her 3 younger sisters. They never stayed in a town for very long because of her father. But finally they ended up in Honeyton and this is where the story gets interesting and Hadley starts remembering things from her past. They moved into a house next door to the town trouble makers, which are 4 brothers. Hadley gets involved with their father who is the local mobster. Wel there are 2 mobsters in town and she finds herself involved with both of them to try an protect her sisters. I really wldnt mind reading the next book when it outs.
I hate Hadley's dad. How could you leave your daughter to take on your debts after stealing from a drug dealer! I like the developing relationship with Blaise but the writing mistakes drove me crazy. Too many times she mixed Blaise's name up with Rhyland. Also she obviously couldn't figure out how she wanted Amelia's name to be spelled so when she first introduces her it goes back and forth between 2 spellings. Though the girl seems to be the only one who may know this amnesia memory that Hadley is having. I think the mistakes are coming from Jessica spreading herself too thin. Too many stories going at the same time, slow down and focus on one or 2 stories at a time. You're a good writer, don't mess it up!
This review will be same for the first 3 books of series I wont be reading the 4th.
Book 1, Chasing Hadley was 4 stars, I loved the plot the characters and the flow. Was eager for book 2. Book 2, Felt rushed, had a lot of typos, had a character change names from Emelia to Amelia, had chapters told in 1st person that had parts of chapter written in third person. One sentence would be I was looking for my glasses and the next would be Joe found his glasses. Not I found my glasses. Then at the end of book there was like 50+ pages of added chapters for book 1. Why werent these before book 2 starts? Book 3. 7 chapters, 60-ish pages and the story doesnt conclude and book 4 will center around 2 diff main characters. NO THANKS>
This is the 2nd book in the series and I liked it okay. There didn't appear, to my eye, to be quite as many editing/inconsistencies as were present in book 1 or I had just became numb to it lol. A short quick read, the timeline is barely a 24hr period but a lot happens and things move at a swift pace. Although we are left with much more questions than we get answers. I do intend to read book 3 when it gets released as I want to see how the relationship between Hadley and Blaise develops and I want answers to the many many questions raised, however I'm not on the edge of my seat waiting desperately.
This one starts right off where the first one ends. Very enjoyable to read fast past but when I sit back and thinks this whole book happened in one day, yes ONE day! Crazy 🤯
All the characters are great, the twist and turns are fantastic. But I do feel like the over all story is rushed, we could have a larger book with just a little less happening. Book one and two could have been combined. It does need a edit and some of the names where switch which did throw be a bit (had to re read it ) now with that said i still loved the story and will be picking up the next one. I just hope she can answer all our questions in the next book.
What I read was great But when I bought it from playbook- though I also tried with amazon physical and ebook- ( it acc comes up as THE DEAL AND THE SECRET but I can't find THE FALLING OF HADLEY because I found it once and then it went off the app completely) and started reading the next book HOLDING ONTO HADLEY I did not know what was going on because the version it will let me buy doesn't have an ending or the version of events they say happened at the end, Can anyone help with THIS or has it been happening to everyone?
So many secret. Hadley is a bad A. I love her. She will truly do anything for her sisters. There is way to many questions left unanswered in this book. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. Really excited to read more. Blaise is such a mystery. He cares so much. Cannot wait for them to be together but I think the secret we will eventually learn will makes things hard. I am seriously pumped about this book and more to come.
I just don't even know. I wanted to love this book so much. It's just gets to a point where is ridiculous. I know that some things like these happen but I have such a hard time believing this story. And since it's not a paranormal one, it's even more difficult for me to get into it. I'll see if I can dive into the next but I won't hold my breath. I just wish the author wrote the Cursed Hadley series because that caught my attention so much more and the first book ended with a cliff.
What a great book. But from what I’ve seen there is a 5th book to this series that isn’t out yet. So I stopped reading. I hate when authors gets you invested then doesn’t finish the book series. This author is very very talented. From what other ppl have posted she does this a lot. Such a shame. The book is definitely 5 starts but only gave it 3. For the series not being finished!
I love this series as I do the others related to it but, what is with this place where all the girls.show up with gaps in their memory? No parents... If this was.one series I would have the but however there are three similar series. I enjoy them all but they are beginning to be repetitive with the need to keep reading. Have to find out what is next.
This book is good but confusing. It started out alluding to all these events that I never read about. So I’m not sure if there are several versions of this story or what but… it was weird that the mob guys son was suddenly taking her to a dance or something and now she has a brand….
I am amazed every time I read her work how she is able captivates me from the first page and leave me wanting more! Again and again I am an entertained from the Paige.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, was absolutely gripping and really can't wait to see what happens next. There are plenty of plot twists and the plot really thickens
I loved this book ,just like the first book and now I can't wait for the third one. I adored all the characters but fell a lil more for Blaise as he's broody ,sexy and so lovable .
Is this even an RH? Because I’m looking forward to it winc rhysand started liking Hadley now. The story gets more interesting and I can’t wait to read the next book!
