A great finish to a fantastic series.
This throws the zombie genre on its head and kicks it around for a while.

Incredible finale

This book was an intense and incredible finish to a story that has kept me captivated from the very beginning. Answers are given, forgiveness is won, battles are fought, and not necessarily in that order. I loved it.

I’m just a comic book artist, but for some reason, people listen to me.

What a series! What an incredible story! What a dynamic cast of characters!
The series was up to about book #6 when I stated reading it, with The Last – the first book. It was OK, but there was a subtle hook in the story and I picked up the second book, which was Anna’s story. And what a ride it has been, since then! The Light: As in the previous novels, this one has a powerful gripping narrative. A refugee convoy just east of

This entire series blew my mind!
The character were real and raw and easy to feel for...wether you feel love or pity or hatred. The plots twists and turns and shocks constantly!
I've never read a zombie series like this and I've read my fair share of zombie stuff!!
Grist creates a universe of real and unspeakable horrors. A world where the rich take what they want at the cost of 7 billion innocent lives. I can see that happening, no question! The main villian, Olan, i

Like others have said, this turns the whole zombie idea upside down, then kicks it around.

I don't normally go in for zombie stuff. I prefer my post-apocalyptic reading more realistic; you know, EMP and stuff. But, for 99 cents for the series, I figured why not. Then, this really grabbed me by the throat almost from the very beginning. And although about half-way through, maybe book 5 or 6, I was starting to lose interest a little, it picked back up and took me on a roller-coaster ride of action,

Awesome read

This was an epic finale! For Anna, Lara and Amo to drop so far and then to fly so high was a rollercoaster of emotions. I laughed and cried and was so happy when Anna was able to find Ravi again but when she died again it was heartbreaking. I had a bit of trouble trying to keep the storylines straight but they were tied up very well. I would recommend this series to anybody into apocalyptic zombie stories.

Like the other books it was hard to get through and understand what was happening but at the end all the storylines came together to explain and help you understand everything. Many os the characters were lost and new ones appeared and in some cases helped but in other ways did not. Even though I had a hard time reading this series I will recommend you reading it

From the heart of darkness comes the light.
A devastating end to the series that brought me to tears. Right to the last it had me gripped, as the lies are revealed and the lost are found. Incredible.
So long Amo, Lara and Anna, your stories will be missed.

A fitting conclusion to an excellent series. Grist promised answers by the end and he delivered. This is one of the best zombie (but not really zombie) series I've ever read. Definitely worth it to read all 9 books in order. ...more
