Dylan tries to bully Nicole into giving up her seat on the school bus. How should she handle the situation?

This book gives a practical example of how a child should deal with a bully. I like how Nicole’s mother and the bus driver try to help Nicole resolve the situation as soon as she tells them what is happening. Unfortunately, the reality is that the child often doesn’t speak up. The language in this book is simple enough for children to understand on their own, but reading it together gives p

At the end of each school day Nicole boards her bus to go home. But one afternoon when Nicole boards the bus and takes her usual seat an older boy named Dylan asks her to get up from her seat because he wants to sit there. He becomes angry when Nicole tells him it is her usual seat and he could sit elsewhere as there are empty seats. When the bus driver reminds the children they must all be seated but he can drive, the boy angrily tells Nicole that tomorrow he will sit there.

3.5 STARS. In A BULLY ON THE BUS by Dr. Mildred D. Peyton, readers are taken into an all-too-familiar scenario of when a bully targets a particular child for no reason. Initially, readers may speculate it is a one-time incident – Dylan’s having a bad day and acting mean. No harm done, right? As is often the case with witnesses to bullying, they watch and don’t get involved. Even as Nicole may be talking herself into that very same conclusion – it’s a one-time thing – just below the surface, ther ...more

A Bully on the School Bus Offers a Realistic Bullying Situation. The author does a great job choosing an all too common bullying situation that many elementary school aged children face. This short, easy to read children's book presents a typical school bus bully and presents the emotions and situation very well through both written words and colorful pictures. Readers will clearly see how the bullying made Nicole feel with the emotion filled illustrations. This book offers a great starting poin ...more

This book takes a very common situation, shows how it's not fine to simply accept some actions and offers practical tips on what to do about it.

Nicole enters the school bus and sits down in the same seat she always does, but Dylan wants to sit in the seat that day and demands that she move. Nicole refuses to give in, and Dylan finally sits down behind her but insists that the next day, it's his turn to sit there. Nicole tells her parents about the situation, and their suggestion on how to deal w

Every day Nicole rides the school bus. One day, Dylan tells Nicole that he needs to sit where she is sitting and bullies her into a different seat. The next day Nicole chooses a different seat, but Dylan still insists that he needs to sit where Nicole is sitting. Nicole talks to her mom and the bus driver to help solve her problem.

“A Bully on the School Bus” deals with what bullying might look like at a young age. There was emphasis on how something that seems like a non-issue, such as switching

A Bully on the School Bus is a good story for school aged kids to read. Little Nicole becomes frightened and bullied by another child on her school bus on the way home from school. She struggles to know what to do and how to handle the situation. Poor young Nicole does not know how to react or what to do. I agree with what she does and what it leads to in the end.
A Bully on the School Bus is one children’s book that I believe every parent should give to their children. It would be a perfect opp

- I received this book free though iRead Book Tours.

The first book in by Dr. Mildred D. Peyton and it feels like it. Phrases are awkward, and the flow of the book just seems off. The illustrations are amateurish and while they are expressive they just don’t seem professional. This book has a great idea, but really needs more polish.

This is going to be short and sweet. This book, like the one above is on bullying and what Nicole does about her bully.

Author Dr. Mildred D. Peyton really knows her stuff and the way to best but this subject into the hearts of all concerning Bulling.

And as like the book above I recommend all schools should have this book for all the kids to read.

So for the reason above I will be giving this book a Breath of Life rating of:
