So let's talk Dravenites. If for a book titled Happy Ever Afterlife, you wanted to see Draven and Kiera in love, on their honeymoon, professing that love repeatedly, having plenty of sex with almost zero plot, fantastic! You got your wish and you will find this a five star book. You can stop here.

If like me you didn't need yet more sex scenes and professions of love because you felt that had been covered already and were looking for an actual plot, you will be bored. The plot is maybe a 10th of this book. The plot is this: something is wrong with Draven but he doesn't want to talk about it. Kiera also has evidence (but different then his) that something is wrong with Draven and she doesn't share. In fact she has his memories wiped. Because he's so darn overprotective and she's sick of it, she thought that be the best way to go. So yey for more secretes. Except when it finally explodes in their faces. Book ends.

Review time! Let me see if I can get in touch with my inner Pip for this... nope I'm afraid I can't do it without keeping this review somewhat PG. Sorry!
Happy Ever Afterlife, the only reason my head hasn't gone "pop" is due to the timeline of the book. Drama, drama, cliff hanger and more drama. (That's as close I'll get to giving anyone spoilers) Buy the book if you want to know what happens!
Stephanie can be quite wicked when she writes these books and I love her for it! Expect lots of sexy time, the book is called Happy Ever Afterlife, so duh. Prepare to laugh, and I do mean laugh out loud. So if your reading this in a coffee shop or in the car with family on a road trip...prepare to get weird looks and possibly a muttered "moms losing her mind" from the kiddos. Of course if you are a cryer and hopeless romantic grab your tissues, you will shed a tear. (Thankfully I have faulty tear ducts) And lastly, hurry up read the book because you don't have long to wait before part 2 is here!

Not one of my favourites

At times this series of books has been so compelling and full of unexpected turns and imaginative events but the endless sexual side to this, in some of the novels makes my lip curl and I end up skipping through 10 pages of yet more crude description. Reading it endlessly isnt the same as experiencing it obviously and I feel like saying "get a room!" to the characters , out loud. I dont overly like Pip because she has no depth, all I know about her is that she has amazingly tacky taste in clothes and she hardly talks about anything without sex coming into it. Draven is an abusive partner and again what can you say about him? Hes thousands of years old and all you can say is that hes rich and treats Keira like a possession not like shes a person at all. Hes moody and selfish. I prefer Lucifer and yeah he has a dirty mind too but he has much more substance. He treats Keira more like shes a person and hes there for her. He is much sexier and funny aswell. I really do like Keira most of all. She has lots of personality and i can see why she would draw everyone together as she has such a good heart. I like all the historical content and wish the author would focus more on the intriguing 'story' parts of her novels which are are endlessly imaginative and so well written but she bulks the pages up with sex sex and yet more sex. Those parts lose their 'steam' because theres so much of it and the crude description sounds more like a porn magazine story and just makes me cringe though some of it is imaginative. Wheres the build up, the smouldering, the intensity between Draven and Keira, sexually, the romance? They dont seem as 'destined' as they should do either. Spoiler: the part in the woods seemed intriguing after the first part of the novel was mostly about their honeymoon sex and i was just getting interested when the part came where the mysterious creature in the woods grabbed Keiras 'hardened nipple'. I mean...was that necessary? It seemed a bit out of proportion with the events and ruined the mystery for me. It was like the author thought, "i haven't stuck any crude bits in there for a while". Why would the mysterious figure do that and why is Keira so submissive when things like this occur, which is often? I can genuinely say that, if not for the too long and too frequent dirty bits, this would have been my favourite series and ive read a lot of different ones. As far as the main character is concerned, she is my favourite yet. I love that she is English (like me) and I love Afterlife and her sister and brother in law and that the story is set in the US and there are frequent visits to various destinations. Apologies for my grammar, its the middle of the night and Im typing on my Kindle which isnt easy. So, I may have been critical but im hard to please but as much as i have been honest, Ive hopefully made it clear how much I enjoyed the novels. Im nearly finished with reading this series and Ill miss Keira and her crew.

I want to give 4 stars but...

I really want to give this more stars but I can't. After the big battle, Keira kicking arse, and becoming more than human I was finally ready for the story to take a different turn especially since according to Janus and the fates previously saying she would basically get the life she had hoped for and her child would be the one to end the war. But no, book 11 and the story is exactly the same just a different protagonist.
Draven and Keira constantly lie and hide things from one another still, Keira is kidnapped again, and the book is more sex than story. The premise of these books are great but they're unimaginative, no evolution in the story or the relationship, and dreadfully redundant. I skimmed over most of it because there are only so many sex scenes one can read. The pertinent parts of the story, which are just finding out who will kidnapped her for the millionth time, makes up probably less than the entirety of the book. I wanted to finish this series so badly. I want to know the stories of the other kings and their chosen and if I'm guessing who they will be correctly but I just can't read one more line of the same story, different names, and sexaplooza. Disappointing is all I can say about. I love the characters but when a story doesn't grow or change it diminishes even the characters. Sadly I won't be finishing this world.

So if Adam is Lucius’ second in command/right hand man, why are he and Pip still living in the U.S. at Afterlife? It’s apparently been almost/over a year. Doesn’t he have responsibilities in Germany?

The first part of this book recaps the ending of #10 and then starts detailing preparation for the baby (who had already been born in #10) It’s pretty boring and who cares about Ikea furniture and baby poop.

Now wait a ding dong minute. Didn’t Draven decide in the previous book that Keira got pregnant when they commandeered Jared’s desk at Devil’s Ring the night of the stag/hen party? So why oh why in this book does he think she was impregnated by his younger self when she went back in time?

Okay, almost halfway through this book before the actual time and place of the conception is realized. Everything is fluff or rehashed up to this point. Something new to the plot finally occurs at a dinner the day after the wedding. Gotta admit I’m pretty fed up with the constant sexual innuendos and screwing at the drop of a hat. Get a grip, people. Do something different that might be worth reading about. Every orgasm Keira experiences is more mind blowing than the last. I’m surprised her limited amount of brain cells aren’t completely depleted.

Wasn’t there supposed to be a Council meeting which is why all the supernaturals hung around after the wedding? The day after the wedding Draven couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed (I’ll leave it to your imagination as to why) until the dinner at the hotel. Then he and Keira take off for his castle in Scotland the following morning. What about the meeting? Why mention something if you’re not going to follow through?

Let’s discuss Keira’s birthmark. Draven has washed her hair on numerous occasions so I’m pretty sure he must have touched it at some point. Why does it now cause him to become an out of control demon? What changed? I need an explanation.

I’m getting so annoyed at the uncontrollable lust between these two that I’d probably quit reading but I only have one more book after this so I’ll keep on keeping on. This volume was pretty much a waste of time to me.

Oh my, it’s been a long journey through the Afterlife saga, and I’m glad it’s not over yet! Now I usually tend to give Stephanie five glowing stars as her talent to describe—be it characters, feelings, landscapes or even clothes—and the rich content with which she created this huge, incredible saga are unbelievably good, but I had to cut one star because I found myself doing what I never do—I scanned over the book and skipped entire paragraphs.
I know that Stephanie has a very unique writing style. Instead of following the usual story structure, she likes to linger on scenes that, let’s say, don’t push the story further but are just there for the reader’s satisfaction, like overly long declarations of love or stupid banter. Stephanie “warned” about that in her author’s introduction at the beginning of the book, but I still have to say she overdid it a little bit here. The first chapters confused me because there were so many flashbacks woven together chaotically that I didn’t know what was present, past, and future anymore. The first time something really interesting happens is after about 40% of the eBook which is way too late. For example, the IKEA scene was funny, but I don’t need an entire chapter. There were also a few repetitions that annoyed me like Keira’s constant arguing about why Draven was so mean to her in the beginning although she got the answer five times already...
But when the story finally got interesting, and an enemy came into play, it played out really well and as usual, I loved the ending (well, not really ending as Part 2 will be released soon). Will definitely read the next book—I’m part of this saga for too long now to back out which might have been Stephanie’s plan from the beginning after all 😊

Where to start

i have lovwd this series so it is hard not to give this book a 5*, but the truth is, this book is just a stepping stone to get to where the story begins

it was nice to read how they go.on with each other without the worry of someone trying to kill her, just normal interactions that we all have, but it went on a bit, without anything really happening.

i feel that this should have and quiet easily could have been made much shorter and added the 1st and second together (i have not read the second yet) but i know she did thia with another book and i regrettably feel.it ia to do with money.

it is an expensive book when nothing really happens. i was flipping through pages as i got bored and i was beyond bored of all the sex scenes... i agree that yes with a man like draven you wouldn't feel the need to ever get out of bed, but in a book i need more than that.

i am going to move on to the next book and k know that more is going to happen in that one thankfully.

overall though it is lovely to have more of kiera and draven as i thought the last book was it and i am happy to continue reading these for the next however many yeara, but a stop gap book should be 99p in my opinion or juat make one big book please.

This story wasn’t what I expected, and it wasn’t my favorite. There were some amazingly sweet moments and moments of dying of laughter, but most of the story was looking pack at the past. They did have some fantastic moments of normalcy and even romance. Of course, this book includes steamy scenes and danger. This book ends on a cliffhanger.

This book comes with a warning for mature and explicit content. The book begins with a reflection from Kiera on the past and what she desires for the future and an understanding of what part is coming and why she is not surprised.

We get dropped straight into their new parenthood. This book jumps around on the timeline a lot; it then jumps back to before the baby, then baby shopping, then the wedding day. Omg, supernatural baby shopping had me rolling in laughter as I read the story.

Of course, just as you think they finally get happily ever after, some new atrocity pops up, threatening their comfortable existence. This book spends a lot of time remembering past events from other books.

I did enjoy the normalcy of the relationship in this book, but we seem to go back to a lack of trust, lies, and more danger. I was hoping it was more about her pregnancy which was covered very little in the story. The book ends on a cliffhanger, and the second part is in the last book in this series.

Not a fan of book eleven back to the frustrating female

I am not a fan of this book. The previous book ten was so good and filled with missing information from the other nine book. The author had wrapped up things so nicely. I did wonder where would book eleven and twelve go in their storyline? Well these two books happened before the end of book ten. Kiera is just back from the past and the couple finally gets married. So having this book out of sequential order was a struggle to accept from the author. Second the entire first half of this book is a repeat of what happened in previous books. What’s more confusing is that this fact was not mentioned at the beginning of this book like the author indicated that this is a cliffhanger. Of course, Kiera is kidnapped again, and like I mentioned in my other reviews, it is a bad ideas.

This was so drawn out and I feel like it's just unnecessary. It's a lot of just the same stuff and I feel like after 11 books the sex scenes were just meh and just added in to extend the book out. The last 2 books could have been one plus the details upon details of just stuff that didn't contribute anything to the story, I mean do we really need 4 pages of what a room looks like? I'm all for detail and setting a scene but I feel like at times it just goes way too far. I don't need 3 pages of what everyone is wearing every time there is a new scene it's just way way too much and just draws stuff out. Don't get me wrong the whole story and adventure of Dom and Keira and all the characters have been just so much fun to read but I really feel like these last 2 books were just dead weight and not really needed.

Perfect

I was beyond ecstatic when I saw this book, it meant that Draven and Keiras story was continuing and I would get to dive back into Afterlife!!!!! Happy Ever Afterlife did not disappoint at all!! It has amazing declarations of love for each other and tons n tons of hot Sex and making love, definitely very hot and very adult!! I loved it because they get to enjoy each other and the readers get to see what happened after the world almost ending and the wedding night. If course Keira can't stay out of trouble but this one isn't dokey about that, it more of a celebration of Draven and Keira's love. This whole series quickly captured my heart and I'm so excited that it is continuing and there are a lot of spinoffs coming. I LOVE AFTERLIFE

No lessons learnt.

I have 2 main observations to make about Keira. The first is how often she cries - I mean, good grief, it's almost every other page! I know she's also proven to be a bad to the bone heroine, too, but I wish she'd been written somewhat less soggy. One day I'm going to go through the series & count how many times she cries; it must run into the mid hundreds, at least. The second problem is that she doesn't learn from past mistakes. She withholds vital information from Draven, AGAIN - she wanders off when she shouldn't & behaves generally like a naughty toddler, running amok in an empty house. I think Draven's got the right idea, shackles in the not too distant future!

Basic reminder of their life

I admit being disappointed th a this book merely repeated how happy they are after the wedding, and I'm talking a super repetitive loop that in my opinion wasted space of what should have been a book comparable to the ones before it. Nothing really happens in this book that could not have been broken down into one chapter, two IF she felt she just HAD to, and then this would actually be a book when combined with part two. This one made me think of the saying, talking just to hear yourself talk. This beyond DOUBT was pointless, and belonged cut down into a couple of chapters at most, combined with book two, then move on to the next.

No no no

50% of the story is spent rehashing what happened in the previous book. Keira (if possible) is more childish and selfish, and has all of a sudden adopted Draven's way of speech, and it's extremely annoying. And she clearly hasn't learned from any of her previous misadventures. I was hoping this book would be a refreshing continuation of a great series after being disappointed in the spin off Glass Dagger (Boring), but no. I'm unsure if I will continue on with this series.

I was so nice seeing what HEA could be for Kiera and Dom. The honeymoon and everyday scenes so encouraging that their long life together is set to be great. The majority of the book does show this repeatedly and in detail, but you knew it had to happen. Sunshine and roses for the rest of their lives? Who are we talking about here?! Something had to happen to shake up the peace. And of course, the reader wants to smack Kiera AND Dom (if one would survive smacking him ) upside the head for their secrets once again. But, therein lies the tension and story as it continues. Awaiting part II.

Another cracker 💘

At the end of the last book I felt I had missed out but luckily there was reason to the authors madness. I felt the ending was rushed but now I know better 😇. This book is another great addition to a fantastic series although Keira did annoy me in parts as she normal does but I still love her all the same 😊. The ending was a great one I can't wait to see what happens next, oh and not to mention all the spin offs coming out 😬 Sooo exciting!!!!

5 massive stars from me now on to the next one 😎

Disappointed

I am not sure what is going on this book. But I found it rather boring.
I found it very weird that she has not ask Sophia what is going on with DD, why is only Lucius involved at the start. And then it's all uninteresting it goes on and on. And I was waiting what happened to the storyline it didn't comes to the point only in the last few pages when Keira enters the dungeons, I am extremely disappointed that I paid a lot to get nothing.
Sorry to say this but I guess this is the worst in this series.

I found this book completely unnecessary , boring and even annoying.
Begging of book was constant jump in time which was very annoying. There was nothing major going on in this books just Keira and Draven on honeymoon and some missed details from last book , there was some repeat chapters to.
In my opinion author should’ve ended afterlife with book 10.
This books seems nothing more than failed attempt to prolong saga , which was totally unnecessary as ending on book 10 was perfect. Couple extra chapters of their honeymoon would’ve been enough, no need whole book

Draven and Keira’s story

As much as I am looking forward to reading more of Lucius and Amelia, I am happy to say it is nice to have some back story for the parents.
I can see now where Amelia gets her “gracefulness” from. Lol And her knack for getting into trouble. Keira is the original magnet for bad things happening. And poor Draven, unbeknownst to him, it looks like now he is going to have to contend with his demon if he wants his wife back.
I’m looking forward to reading part 2!

>Book Review – Happy Ever Afterlife: Part 1

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 11th in the Afterlife Saga and ends in a cliffhanger. This book revisits certain events from Dom’s POV. The book starts out in the present, but quickly goes back 2 months to after the war, but before the wedding guests leave. Dom is acting more demon-y than angel-y.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I love how, once again, Lucius saves the day. The honeymoon in Scotland is awesome, but there is once more a lot of withholding of the truth.

Filler Book with little point

I have very much enjoyed this series, but this book is so different. 80% of it was sex scenes, 15% was rehashing things we already knew from other books. 2% was undying declarations of love, and 2% was Keira being A hypocrite yet again lying through her pretty teeth. 1% was plot. Less than 3 chapters actually had something moving the book forward. I hope the next one is better

Love them all

I enjoyed every single book of this series and had thought it over, till i was searching for a decent supernatural read and happened across another installment of my current favourite, as always lots of steamyness and more important for me a good laugh! Roll on the next book!

Another great addition to the series, I like that we are getting some normal Keira and Draven, that they are spending time together. I have loved this series and have been reading these books since August, I will truly miss Keira and Craven but I'm looking forward to reading about the other characters. Especially Pip and Adam.

Another sensational addition to the series

Wow. Another page turner to feed my addiction.
It was all going so well for Draven and Keira. Finally free of their part of the prophecy. Keira sets free a demon. One that really is not her biggest fan. More secrets are kept. More lies are told.
Such an amazing read. Loved it.
