This is not a standalone. Book one must be read before you read this one.
Life in Vegas was no fairy tale. Prince Charming turned out to be a well-dressed frog, and my dark knight cuffed me to his bed. One left his mark on my body; one left his mark on my heart. Both taught me an important lesson: the high-stakes games they play in Sin City are too rich for my blood.
Fleeing Vegas and the sexy monsters who live there was the first good decision I’ve made in a while. All I want to do now is lick my wounds and get back to my boring, normal life. Studying for finals with an ironic mug full of lemon tea, backyard cook-outs courtesy of my brother-in-law, and binge-watching old shows with my sister every night—that is the life I want back. No more pulse-pounding sexiness, no more ruthless bad guys clawing my heart apart for their own purposes.
All I want is to be normal again. That’s it.
The problem is, I’m not sure it’s possible to get back to normal once the Morelli family gets involved….

Sam Mariano has been writing stories for as long as she can remember. She lives in Ohio and has a sweet and wonderful daughter. Because of You was her first finished story (she started writing it when she was 18) and due to a full-time work and college schedule, it took her years to finish. She has also been telling people for years that there would never be a sequel (sorry, guys!)…which turned out to be a lie. Sam Mariano is currently working on Dante’s book (if you’re a Morelli reader) and some other WIP. Feel free to find her on Facebook, Goodreads, or her blog—she loves hearing from readers!
I HATE Laurel! It made reading this one hard, because I just wanted to abuse her the whole time. LOL I LOVE Sin though, so he saved it for me. I hope I barely have to see Laurel in the next book which I'm excited for! 😂🙌 Rafe! 😍
In good old Sam Mariano fashion, I never know where I am going to go. Sometimes I love the books and sometimes I find it really meh.
I think about 30% of this book could have been edited out.
So in the first book Sin white-fanged Laurel and now she is shacking it up with Rafe. I found the whole Rafe and Laurel dynamics Boring!!! Oh my gosh, I didn’t care for the conversations, or dates or anything.
I wanted more planning, I wanted more twists. I wanted more mafia politics and where was SIN? Sin was pepper in here and there for the first half of the book and I just started to skim until I got some Sin and Laurel interaction.
I wanted more Sin’s POV and I wanted more of his mafia interactions to be honest.
I found the pregnancy to be really slow-going too. By the end of the book she was 4 months pregnant and I was like, really?! I wanted to see more pregnancy baby-mama action.
I also thought the steam was lacking. Yes there was steam and it was kinky, but I just wanted more? I don’t know. What I love about this author is that you never know what you are going to get, but at times, she can put in a filler book or a book with huge parts of nothing.
There are huge chunks of this book I just found not needed, boring, a filler and didn’t really add anything to the story.
I’m taking a break from this series, but I will of course come back!
“You’re crazy.” With a cheeky smile, she winks at me. “All the best people are.”
Ok so I feel like this ended way too happily. I’m excited for what’s to come, but also terrified that everything was too easy.
This is just essentially another book of Rafe, Laurel, and Sin being in a love triangle that only two of them actually care about.
I will say again that I’m excited for the next book. Like I wish it was out now, because I have a feeling it’s going to be tense and romantic as hell. And hopefully a certain someone has to get his hands dirty for a special someone since he never does. It will be sexy lol
Sinning in Vegas (Vegas Morellis #2) By Sam Mariano 4.5 Vegas Stars
Sinning in Vegas is book 2 of the Vegas Morellis trilogy. You must read book 1 before diving into this one.
Picking up right where we left off in Staying in Vegas, the action never stops!! How in the world will Laurel survive when forced to be with the one she doesn’t want to be with?
There are some moles in the family business. There is someone trying to poison Laurel. There is only one person who is paying attention to everything going on. But will he be the strongest link to save it all?
Sin is in it to win, but after releasing Laurel to go back with Rafe, can he request a do-over? Seeing everything that is happening, is it worth it to risk the one person who he cares the most about…the woman who is carrying another man’s baby.
Sam Mariano sure has woven a story with the Vegas Morellis! This book had me turning the pages to find out which would win in the end. Not just win the woman…but win as in hold the Vegas family together without losing the ones that truly deserve to be together!
May the best man win and May the Morelli family grow stronger!!! Cant wait to read the final book in this good trilogy!!!
That went a completely different way than I expected. First, I’d like to get the things I absolutely hated with a passion about this book out of the way—first things first, Laurel. I adored her in Staying In Vegas; but in Sinning in Vegas she completely turned into a different character. She whined the entire time about Sin...and about how much she loathed Rafe. For the first 50-60% the book was repetitive and going no where really fast.
I also got a little bit tired with all the oral sex going on. There’s only so many ways I can read about BJs. Don’t get me wrong, the scenes were hot but I needed more.
Okay, now that I got that off my chest. I’ll go in an explain my love for all things Sin. That man is perfection—it’s taking me a lot to admit that considering I’ve loved Rafe since the beginning when we first met him in Mia and Mateo’s books. Sin is an elusive alpha male that oozes raw sex appeal, protectiveness, and delicious angst. Poor Rafe never stood a chance.
While Laurel did grate on my nerves through most of the story, I’ll give credit where it’s due. I like her spunk and the way that she doesn’t take shit from anyone. She lives with people who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty yet she’s right there with them, meeting them match for match. That’s fucking cool.
Rafe. For awhile there I was getting angry because I felt like he was getting the short end of the stick. I can’t help it, I’m biased when it comes to him. So anyone that fucks with him makes me all twitchy. The setup to the next book is perfect though; I look forward to seeing how Mariano brings together that particular storyline.
I’d like to add in that it was nice seeing my boy Mateo—even if it was just for a hot second. The Mortelli’s are some of my favorite books around. They’re not only intense but actual mindfucks. My emotions run me ragged when reading these stories; so I always love to warn people that these aren’t for the faint hearted. Or the small-minded.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for an honest and unbiased review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I'm a bit disappointed in this one I have to say. In the Chicago Morellis books Rafe was observant, intelligent, charismatic and cunning but in these ones he comes across as weak, Sin has way more power than him. When things were building up with Sin I was thinking Rafe had adopted Mateos theatrics and was playing them but no he was clueless and is made out to only have his power because Sin lets him. I don't buy it and I'm bored with it. I loved that you never knew what crazy scheme Mateo had brewing and I was hoping for more twists. For me this was predictable.
One of the things we all know is that in a YA love triangle, the 2 love interests are really saying something about the main character. It's essentially a decision that tells us about who the MC is going to be, bc the love interests are often...opposites, or they compliment the main character in a certain way. So by choosing one over the other, the MC is really making a choice about their own self.
Here's why I think this book is fucking brilliant. I think here the author is really fucking around with the READER'S expectations about how romance should work and how romance has trained us to read competing love interests on page.
some spoilery stuff below:
It is OBVIOUS that Rafe is the wrong man for Laurel, and it's the clear that that's the from the very beginning. The entire first two books, I was like...this is fucking weird. He's not even that into her. And yet, romance has trained me to read a book a certain way, and so I was low-key assuming they would end up together bc of romance, not because he was the right man for her. I discounted Sin as being just a distraction for a long time. And that's a pretty slick narrative trick, bc in this case, it's we the reader who are pushing her toward the wrong man...because of romance. lol. /chef kiss.
I do think this book is too long, because the third act "oh, now you've bought Sin & Laurel, now let me tell you who he really is! How do you feel now" felt like it took too long to come. I thought about knocking it down to 4 stars, bc this sucker really could have been tighter, but I had a great time reading it. So I'm not gonna be churlish.
I never thought I'd enjoy the Vegas Morellis so much. I'm surprised (pleasantly so, of course) that I do.
After the suggestion of what Adrian, the enforcer, could have been to Mateo and Mia but ultimately wasn't due to obvious reasons.... I assumed that that was where S. M. was going with this trilogy. I thought this would be a Reverse Harem thing-y. And where the first book was all about Sin and Laurel, I thought the second would be about Rafe and Laurel. And ultimately, the third would bring all three together in a nice and tide wrap.
WRONG. ASSUMPTION. ❌
Laurel was a total goner over Sin.
Irrespective of who her Baby-Daddy was. Irrespective of who the Vegas boss was. Irrespective of who the more traditionally-charming choice was.
Irrespective. Of. Everything.
Laurel only had eyes and heart and soul and mind for Sin.
It took a long time for Sin to accept that Laurel's feelings weren't a passing teen fad and were as strong and genuine (even more so) as his own.
This had to be a first when the Morelli did NOT get the girl. Ha! Can't be too happy about that because I did feel sad about lonely Rafe.
The only thing that kept me from flying off the handle was because Rafe really WASN'T right for Laurel. Sometimes you can find someone attractive (as Laurel clearly did Rafe initially) and yet see that they're not the right long term fit.
I was happy with the ending of this one although I was expecting a big cliffhanger like there was in the first book. I suppose Laurel and Sin have their HEA now. The third is clearly going to be all about Rafe as it should be. The guy deserves it.
P. S. I loved all the baby moments in this one. Laurel and Sin's interactions with baby Skylar. Sin making that video during Laurel's OB-GYN appointment of the little "wiggle worm".
P. P. S. I was super happy with the cameos of Mateo, Mia, Adrian, Alec and Carly.
P. P. P. S. There's finally a Sunday Dinner tradition in Vegas too and that's AWEsome!!!!
Overall, this was super fun and if I can't have more of Mateo-Mia then of course it's the next best thing. *sigh*
If you have not read Staying in Vegas, please note that this review my contain spoilers. You must read that book first.
As we learned in book one, Laurel spent one weekend with Rafe Morelli and it left her with a baby in her belly and a permanent connection to this mob boss. When she goes to Vegas to tell him, his reaction is completely unexpected and shocking. She plans to go back home but Rafe’s enforcer, Sin has other plans for her. He makes sure that she cannot leave Vegas until she is willing to talk to Rafe again after he has made some sense of the situation. But what Sin did not plan for was Laurel falling for him and there is no way he planned on falling for her. He cannot act on his feelings because Rafe is his boss. He pushes her away, hoping it sends her right back into the arms of Rafe.
Sinning in Vegas takes place exactly where we left off. Laurel goes back to Chicago and is planning to visit her sister and tell her everything. But when Mia shows up with a plan of her own, Laurel is willing to hear her out, well maybe she didn’t really have a choice. Either way after going home with Mia and confronting Rafe she decides to give him another shot, hoping to make something between them work. Plus she has a back up plan in case it does not work out. While she is willing to try with Rafe, there is just one problem and his name is Sin. Living with Rafe in Vegas means seeing Sin more than she would like to, because seeing him just brings back all of those feelings, breaking her heart all over again. She needs to move on from her feelings for him in order to give Rafe a fair chance. Will she ever get over Sin and find happiness with Rafe? Will Rafe see what is right in front of him and give them his blessing? Will Laurel have to resort to plan B leaving them both behind? Agh!!! So many questions!! But you will have to read to find out how this one plays out.
I cannot tell you how much I love Sin. That man is sex on a stick with a side of love and compassion that will make your heart melt and your ovaries explode. I was rooting for him and Laurel hard. I needed them to be together, because for me there was no other way.
I love Rafe, but in this book I was so not sure what to think of him. He did things that for me were questionable. Now this is coming from someone who loves Mateo, a man who is the epitome of bad. But Rafe is not Mateo and for that reason I had no idea how to feel. But as time went on he definitely proved himself to me and changed my perception of him. He had me all over the place where my feelings for him were concerned. But I assure you in the end you will love him all over again.
Laurel, I have always loved. She is so young and maybe at times a little naïve but that’s what makes her, her. She is passionate and loving, I love her banter and sassy self. She is one of my favorites.
I just have to say how happy I am that an author friend recommended reading Sam’s book (Accidental Witness) because I LOVE her work. From the moment I read that book I have been hooked!!! She manages to blow me away each and every time. You honestly never know what you will get when it comes to her. She has a way of making me fall for bad men that I have no business loving. She creates strong female characters who I adore, throws in twists and turns that you never see coming and most times I am on the edge of my seat because I have no idea how the story will go. And let me tell you this time was no different. I felt like my heart was in my throat the entire book and it was not until the end that I felt like I could breath again. At times I think I know what will happen only for the story to take a different turn. And that is what I love about Ms. Mariano’s writing. It is flawless, it makes you feel every emotion, whether it is love or hate, frustration and anger, or happiness. You feel it all!!! Every book feels like a roller coaster but it is one that I will get on every single time. I cannot wait for the third book in this series!!! Another amazing job.
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! So Laurel made her choice her choice and I agreed wholeheartedly. I love Sin! He was so alpha and sexy! I liked Rafe too, he was Rafe playful and chill, but there is something about a brooding bad boy that just does it for me and Sin was everything. I loved the way it all turned out.
I loved the dialogue and I thought Sin was mildly swoony. I just wasn't a fan of the insta love, and I've got to be honest... I missed Mateo and Mia. So far, none of the other Morellis can compare to them.
This was both good and disappointing. A lot, and i mean A LOT of oral sex.
I love Sin. I like Laurel. I LOVE Sin! He’s so dark and broody and just every bit “enforcer”. I used to like Rafe. And I was under the impression this trilogy would be about him, but he ends up being so meh for two books! I was SO excited for that man from seeing him in the other books. He’s HOT. SO FUNNY. What the hell! So I guess this last book is for him, but I after the meh of two books I feel burnt out on him and not all that excited.... but will read them. Obviously. Morelli men are crack.

I could not fully read this book because this book lost me. Not because it was written bad. It actually was written great but the plot though. Why paint Rafe not responsible to marry his baby mama. Really the lead character is pregnant by the Rafe but marrying his enforcer. Ok I will not be reading the last book. Sorry Sam but I was hoping for Rafe get married have his baby.
i like sam and her books but boy did this one take a nosedive real fast! I loved Rafe in the previous series, this was supposed to be his book but it felt like sin's book. it made zero sense! so many players and inner thoughts and even for a mafia book the plot was just out there for too many reasons. i will not be finishing this series :/
There are no words to adequately describe the genius of Sam Mariano. She pours her heart and soul into every word and it transfers right to the reader. Every time I read a book by her I know it will be like a cat and mouse game because so few authors can play mind games like her. Yet somehow I underestimated her with this book and let her run amok among my brain and heart.
Sam Mariano brings her characters to life. The character development and realism is so intense it makes sense why her readers create teams for her characters. Each step of her world building is glorious and I felt like I was right there and could walk right into the pages.
Reading this book is like taking on a blazing emotional warpath. It is so completely gripping and there were moments I cried, moments I cursed and moments I just wanted to give in to the emotional storm, crawl into a ball and give up. Her words weave that much power on eliciting strong emotions.
5 stars for an emotional, captivating and mind-blowing read. Highly recommend.
I so believe that Sin is one of my favorite characters!!! He is such a bad ass and I love the silent but deadly type!! These freaking Morelli books are going to be my downfall!!! Epic story
I've let this one ruminate in my mind a bit after reading, not because I didn't have anything to say. But because I had so much to say and my mind was a tumble of "what the what" and "who do I pick".
Sam Mariano is knocking down my favorites like bowling pins. She's taking over those spots like it's her job and she's stuck with me for life!! If she were to write a text book on multiplication, I would read it....and I don't do math. ;)
Book 2 of the Vegas Morellis had me in such a state I felt as if I was going a bit wonky. Having loved Rafe from his introduction in the OG Morellis, I was so excited to get his story. And then the introduction of this Sin character in book 1, had me reeling. I'm not supposed to like/love someone has much as Rafe, what is going on, what is she doing to me?! Well, she's writing a phenomenal story and one that kept me on the edge of my seat and sanity throughout!
I can say I was ragey at some points and had the goofiest smile at others. How Sam weaves you into these characters, who lets face it are not the best morally, is nothing short of perfection. And the fact that she does it to me EVERYTIME, and I end up thanking her for it. Well, I think it says more about her skills as a writer, than my inability to pick just one favorite and always fall into her trap.
Her men are dark as dark can be, they are not good guys. But they have a charming way about them and a sense of humor that is so captivating. You want to hate them, but it's just impossible.
Get to writing that multiplication textbook Sam Mariano, I'll be first in line to buy it!! But first.....my Rafe gets his full time in Book 3!!! I cannot wait!!!!
Never thought I'd love anyone as much as Mateo, Mia, and the rest of the Chicago family, but these Vegas Morellis are just as ruthless, deceptive, and calculating. Did I mention ridiculously hot? Because, yeah. All the hotness.
As it is with every one of Sam's books, you're dragged through a myriad of emotional upheaval to the point you're pretty sure your heart is shredded and stuck back together with chewing gum and paper clips. But it's always worth it in the end. Not gonna lie, I sometimes lose sight of the big picture when something happens I'm not prepared for or the book takes a turn on the opposite direction I want. I forget to trust that Sam knows what's best and the end result is even better than what we originally imagined!
Fantastic book! Can't wait to see how the end plays out in #3
I loved the previous Morelli series with Mateo and Mia. I loved being pulled in so many directions. What I do not like is how badly Rafe has been treated as a character. It's has went in a completely different direction and it's not for me. I do not like the second well I guess you could say MAIN male lead. Rafe plays second fiddle to no one. I will not read the final book. I am looking forward to the series with all of the Morelli children. It will be interesting to see how all the kids fare. Ugh! I'm so disappointed. Looking forward to this authors work unrelated to this series.
How many mob bosses get their ass handed to them by the enforcer? How many mob bosses would allow disloyalty to go pass the first time? How many mob bosses would compete for his baby mama affection with someone under his control? The answer is None however if you read this book the enforcer kidnaps Rafe baby mommy, have sex with her beat the hell out of the Rafe promote himself. All this and the Don doesn’t do anything really I have no idea where the author did her research but in organization like this people die for less. In the entire series Sin has show no respect and has been completely disloyal. He should have never mad it to the second book.
DNF 54% Stop trying to make Sin and laurel happen it just isn’t going to happen for me. I honestly wish I had been forewarned going into this bc I wouldn’t have ever started this book. Laurel is pregnant with Rafes baby why are we trying to entertain the idea of him and laurel not ending up together??! Who wants that??! Not me, that’s for sure!! Also I thought this was Rafes book why is he playing second fiddle here?? Like nope no thanks I’m out.
Yes, I get why Rafe is not with Laurel BUT it could’ve been done differently.. idk he could’ve been “testing” to see if Sin could’ve been trusted with his unborn child whatever BUT Rafe Morelli should’ve been the bad ass of the story not Sin. It is a Morelli spin off after all and Rafe as a character I loved until this book that made him look weak and not THE bad a$$ boss of Vegas.
Hhhhmmmmm... I’m actually disappointed.. YES I’m totally in love with Sin’s character but I was totally rooting for Rafe !!! With the massive build up with Rafes character.. I sort of got lost in the direction this book was going and become disinterested in the story as he was no longer the strong alpha from previous books..
This book could of gone in many different directions , many of the I would of liked, however the way it turned out I am NOT A.fan of. I am not going to read the third book.
Spoiler alert if you haven't read Sinning in Vegas yet, don't read my review. Me: I just had my Rafel's (Rafe+Laurel) heart ripped out and crushed to the ground. #TeamRafeSinceDay1 Also me: Being a Sinner as well, that's all right. #TeamSinCauseICannotHelpIt 3: The number of sleepless nights I spent with Sinning in Vegas. 2: The number of times I read the book. 1: The number of times I did not sleep at all, letting the scenes of the book play in my very imaginative mind. 10000000: The number of times I laughed, cried, cussed, tossed my phone on the bed, bawled my eyes out, and nearly lost my shit. Sam did it again, she knocked it out of the park. kudos, Sam! You should seriously be given the award of always outdoing yourself and leaving your readers with a bittersweet heart& lingering emotions from your books. There is no word to exactly describe Sinning in Vegas. Let's say you grab it, then just know that you're in for a stratosphere roller coaster ride with an avalanche of emotions which will come gushing all over you, be it over your heart, mind or soul. First things first, Laurel. Well she is not the vulnerable girl she was in book 1 and you really can't expect her to remain the same after having her heart tattered and her body bartered between two of the most dangerous and sexy creatures of Vegas. She is now a 'little badass' and isn't afraid to go after what she wants.(Sin!!!) This woman doesn't take shit from Rafe and doesn't fall for the Morelli trap. Her obedience and loyalty belong to the one and only, Sin. I'm glad how things turn out in the end though, Sin-Rafe-Laurel and the babies become family and start having Sunday Dinners like your typical Chicago MORELLI fam does.
I'm sorry, Sin but I choose Rafe over you. (I call dibs)Can you please avert these murderous tenebrous eyes? I mean, you're okay Christian Sinclair, you make my heart race with your dark, moody calibre, all right. But Rafe's a charismatic asshole who won my heart since the first time I met him. (Why do I get the Damon-Stefan vibes from these men btw? wtff)😱
However, I do agree that Sin is the perfect match for Laurel, always ready to protect her, to possess her, to kill for her.
"And I'm his Queen." Damn. 😍😍😍😍
Rafe did try though, he tried to make it work with Laurel. Even being the philandering bastard that he is, he does try. You gotta give him some credit. But you know the drill, what's not meant to be will never be however hard you try or push. Kitten is not for Rafe. They don't share a real relationship, and they don't complete each other. I mean, Rafe lusts after her and like her but it's not what the man deserves. Rafe truly deserves someone who will love him and fill in his life with genuine happiness, he deserves someone who is willing to pick up his pieces and drive his void away. And that woman is going to be his favourite waitress of course. 💙💕 How can you not love Virginia? The ending had me grasping the edge of my seat tight. I'm already rooting for Virginia. You go girl! This girl doesn't put up with Rafe's shit and she holds her ground without letting Rafe manipulate her. I already love her honesty, sassiness, humour and unflinching loyalty to Rafe Morelli. She is the one. Tbh, I even love her more than Laurel. I was left unimpressed with Laurel at times, I mean I still like her but I hate that she couldn't even give Rafe a chance. BTW drunk Rafe is everything!!!! 😂😂😂 Bring on Submitting in Vegas, Sam. I'm more excited for Rafe&Virginia's story than I was for Laurel and Sin. Buckle up kiddos, I have a feeling that 'tis gonna be one helluva ride. Omfg I almost forgot. Rafe and Sin's bromance❤💙😍 Goddamn everything, I am fucking on cloud nine, over the moon that their bromance was restored.
"I’m not fucking Virginia. And unless you’re trying to fuck me, you wanna get the fuck off me?” Rafe adds. Now Sin nods at me as he climbs off Rafe. "Give him the towel."
Godddd I love sasssssy Rafe and cranky Sin. This was just one of the most laughable moments in the book. I love Rafe, all shades of him. Rafe in a suit, jerk Rafe, asshole Rafe, flirty Rafe, naked Rafe, cocky Rafe, angry Rafe, playboy Rafe, Nutcase Rafe lmao, menacing Rafe, pervy& creepy Rafe, scheming Rafe, devious Rafe. 50 Shades of Rafe. And oh, did I mention how I am enamoured of Rafe Morelli?! lol
If you have not read it yet, I'd suggest to stop whatever you doing right now and go get your hands on this book. 100000 Stars for Sam, the Queen and mastermind behind all things Morelli. Bow to the Queen, everyone. #TeamSam #TeamLaurel #TeamVirginia ❤❤❤❤❤
Four: The number of days I spent with Sin in Las Vegas
Three: The number of times he has called me since realizing I did not, in fact call Rafe to come and get me.
Two: The number of days I have spent in Chicago to legitimize the lie I told my sister.
One: The number of nights I have to survive until I can board my flight from Chicago to Connecticut and finally go home.
How cute Laurel thought she would actually make it out the clutches of a Morelli and his enforcer! She tried though, you have to give Laurel props for trying.
But then she runs into Mia and Adrian... tsk tsk. Game over. Lol
" You know what? I'm not going to get into a car with you because I don't trust you. Every time I get into a car with anyone associated with the Morelli family, my life hits a brick wall."
This was such an awesome book. There were so many laugh out loud moments and when I thought I knew where Sam Mariano was headed, it went somewhere different, which I LOVED because I absolutely hate predictable books.
Rafe wants to try, and his version of "try" is kind of laughable, but Laurel's mind is still on Sin.
This is not for me. I am not interested in this. Do not want. Unsubscribe. Hell no."
I've had about enough of this damned mouth tonight, Laurel.
Remember when you had no complaints about my mouth?
I do. Remember when it hadn't been wrapped around my enforcer's cock?" It is my business, Laurel. You're my property and he's my employee. I want to know how many fucking bonuses he got.
I absolutely cannot wait for the 3rd book, and to see what happens! I would keep going but I'm afraid that I will end up spoiling something and I don't want to give anything away.
But there are some steamy sexy scenes, I will share without saying who said it or to whom it was said.
"Ass up. You drop it. I smack it."
Sam Mariano sure knows how to make you hate and then love these Morelli Men.... and the women who love them. She writes bad ass characters with smart mouths and I absolutely love them!
"I know I'm where I belong, and it kills me because I know I can't stay here."
What you thought might happen, took a turn in the completely opposite direction and had me reeling, swooning, and throwing my kindle in the best possible way!! I've been Team Sin from Book 1, so to just have him again was a swoon-fest of epic proportions. This man is the epitome of what my ideal book boyfriend is... There was so much more to him in this book, which made him zoom to the top of my list of favorites EVER!!
"I have a feeling Rafe isn't his King anymore. I have a feeling now he serves his queen. And I'm his queen. Jesus, that's hot."
I went from giggling, to fanning myself, to screaming at characters that I knew couldn't hear me and I ate it up as if I was starving. With my heart racing, never knowing what was coming around the bend, I was held captive (no pun intended) by Laurel and Sin and their complete and utter should-be-a-trainwreck-but-it-works fiasco. I loved falling in love with the worst of the worst, then get twisted up one side and down the other until I'm begging for the next book!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
"God, I love this man. I love every feeling he ignites inside me, things no one else has ever had access to. It's like my heart, body, and soul knew to wait for him."
Laughed, cried and screamed...what more can you ask for?
When you read a Sam Mariano book you just can never be sure what is going to happen. There is no cookie cutters used in her stories. I highlighted more passages in this book than any book I have read this year. Waiting for my reading buddy to finish so we can review them and share the laughs, the drama and stress all over again. Laurel is funny clever woman and I could listen to her give these men a verbal run for their money all day long. She kept up and surpassed the controlling Vegas men in the witty repartee. In this book we get to meet Virginia. She can certainly hold her own and then some as well. The only problem with this book is ..... nothing. I loved every minute of it and cannot wait until The final book comes out!
