Kazuhiro Fujita (藤田 和日郎 Fujita Kazuhirō, born 24 May 1964 in Asahikawa, Hokkaidō, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. He graduated from Nihon University. He made his professional manga debut in Shōnen Sunday in 1989. He is most famous for the manga Ushio and Tora, for which he won Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen in 1992 and the Seiun Award in 1997, and the long-running Karakuri Circus.

Trigger warnings: Blood, death, infection, self-hate

That was such a fun two-volume historical fantasy manga! In fact, I was quite surprised by its accuracy in some parts! I had a few complaints regarding the fate of some characters and the way some others were portrayed, but it was still a fun read that I might revisit in the future.

Secondo e ultimo appuntamento (sob!) con la storia dell’infermiera più popolare del mondo: Florence Nightingale... in versione manga/horror.

Sempre accompagnata dal fantasma di Jack (o Grey), da Scutari, nell’Impero ottomano, dove ha riorganizzato con successo un ospedale militare, la seguiamo fino a Balaklava in Crimea, in pieno fronte bellico, per prestare ancora una volta assistenza e conforto ai soldati inglesi.
Florence... un incessante fermento di idee, una fede incrollabile, un coraggio e una forza esemplari, sempre in lotta con il dolore e con i complotti meschini motivati da potere e invidia che la vorrebbero fuori da ogni sistema sanitario, o meglio, morta!
La lotta tra Jack e D’Eon de Beaumont per prendersi la sua vita sarà durissima, ma Florence non ha il tempo per interessarsi a loro, ha ben altro da fare...

Una conferma, rispetto al primo numero; anzi questo episodio è addirittura meglio, con una fine inevitabilmente triste, dal momento che nessuno è immortale, ma con una nota così romantica e struggente che emoziona.
I bei disegni sono tutti da gustare e rappresentano al meglio la storia, arricchita da personaggi splendidi che ho adorato. Cattivi compresi!

This book is rated Older Teen and deals with not only a war scenario but also straight up assassination as well as limited nudity so please be aware of this before giving this to a younger reader. After reading the Conclusion to the Ghost and the Lady all I can say is Sir may I have some more. Sure the story of Florence Nightingale and the Gray Ghost is over now but the Black Museum is sure to have any number of other artifacts with fantastic stories behind them and although I might seem greedy by saying this I don't care because I want to see more of the museum and a lot more of the curator who has her own unique air about her. :)

Follow Florence Nightingale as she tries to save soldiers in the bloody Crimean War while doing everything she can to fight against the men in charge of her station who care less for the wounded men than their own reputations and honor. Watch as Gray the ghost protects the good nurse from another ghostly assassin and helps her achieve her destiny all the way to the last heart breaking moment. If you read these two books I hope you enjoy them as much as i do.

My favorite part would have to be how the two bullets that started this whole story came to be after Florence for once found a person she could not forgive. I can't say to much or I will spoil a major part of the story but you are more than welcomed to read this book for yourself to see what I mean and experience your own favorite parts.

Continuano le avventure di Florence Nightingale impegnata nel migliorare la vita dei soldati feriti che si trovano negli ospedali militari durante la guerra di Crimea. Nuovi personaggi arricchiscono quella che diventa una vera e propria squadra in lotta con il sistema, che considera i soldati semplice carne da macello. La storia di Florence Nightingale è ovviamente raccontata in modo molto romanzato. In ogni caso, il manga regala al lettore un personaggio caparbio, determinato, anche se non privo di insicurezze. Lo stile tipico giapponese di unire sorrisi alle situazioni drammatiche e di dare molta espressività alle emozioni rende la storia appassionante e coinvolgente. L'unico difetto è che forse alla lunga diventa un po' ripetitiva. Resta comunque un manga molto originale e una piacevolissima lettura.

A conclusão, de recorte épico, da história do fantasma que protege Florence Nightingale. A série revê a história desta personagem histórica com elementos de fantasia romântica. A colisão final dá-se nos gelos da Crimeia, com o maior inimigo de Nightingale a usar um subterfúgio para a tentar assassinar, e a violenta fantasma que o protege a enfrentar o simpático fantasma que está sempre do lado de Florence. Tão ao seu lado que a história resvala para um amor impossível, em que nem a morte por velhice da enfermeira poderá aproximar duas almas que se querem.

I loved this volume as well! The history continued to be really interesting, (it really made me wanna learn more about Robert Robinson), and there was a lot less fan service with Nightingale, which was great. I'd certainly buy more of the Black Museum series if it was published in English, sadly I don't believe any of it is.

Volume 2 had me on edge. D'eon and Grey's duels are nail biting. Nightingale is a saint. The ending isn't what I thought it would be but still a good ending. I would like to see this is made into an anime series. The historical background and adaption of the the past are intriguing.

Second tome long et assez laborieux à lire, problèmes que je n'ai pas eus avec le 1er. Ça reste correctement écrit et dessiné, mais l'histoire n'était pas vraiment intéressante, hormis le côté historique.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! This volume is far better than the first. I loved it that the Grey Ghost and the little boy are like guardian angels to a overworked, stressed out Florence Nightingale. Ghost definitely has changed since the last book, when he originally wanted Florences soul. In this one he expanded her life and I found it very touching ☺
