I read this book because of my interest in the Jewish concept of tikkun olam and I wished to see how it might have been translated or used in other religions (either as a derivative of that religion itself or as a derivative of Judaism). Dorff is a clear and relatively concise writer with a steady and easy pace of explanation and exposition. He writes about tikkun olam from a purely social perspective, stating that more environmentally-related topics are outside the scope of his book. All of his ...more

A book full of positive ways to live in today's world. Rabbi Dorff addresses some of the most basic moral values in the Jewish tradition. Many Christians would benefit from reading this book.
