Time #2

The Same Time

Rate this book
A brave young mother, a time-traveling good Samaritan, and a love that must endure the tests of time…
Stella is fighting against her circumstances. Pregnant and caring for her own mother, twenty-one-year-old Stella is tough, and doing the best she can. But in her darkest hour, help arrives in the form of a handsome and mysterious man who knows more about her than seems reasonable.
A scientist, David has unlocked the keys to time travel and uses his knowledge to save Stella’s life, over and over. But will David turn out to be her salvation, or the beginning of her greatest heartbreak? While David strives to assist Stella on her path, he does so without realizing he may be risking his chances of returning safely to his own time in the process.
When Stella meets a younger David on her own timeline—long before his time traveling days have begun—they begin a love affair that will change both their lives. The question is, will their love be strong enough to change the devastating future they share, and how much will Stella tell her love about what she knows of their shared future and demise?

The Same Time is the second book in an interconnected, standalone series. Each book follows a new couple.

5-stars.
It's not a clear 5 stars rating because it left me hungging and wanting more in the end...
Yes, that's my only problem, I wanted more... And I think because of the ending we might get a third book with Liam and Caitlyn's story... We'll see...
This book focuses on David and Stella, two characters we met and I loved in the first book... We also get a clearer picture about some things that left me confussed in the first book... I loved to travel in this world with these characters again... I hope that I haven't said the final goodbye to all of them yet...

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
All I can say is wow I really enjoyed this book, I was lucky I got to read it straight after book one.
This is a complete story, with some spoilers if you decide to go back and read book one after you finish this one.
This is about time travel, and how love can influence the universe. This one is centred on a group of people, most in both books. We have David and Stella who first meet when she is in labor waiting to have baby all on her own at 21 and scared. When a handsome older man is in the waiting room. And begins to talk to her, and stays with her through the birth even sleeping chair. All Stella knows is how safe she feels, and he seems like a guardian angel.
That is the start of an intense and great piece entertaining Sc-Fi Time Travel romance that spans many years and adventures. This is told from Stella’s POV and the inside story with her relationship with David. That is a simplified description, but I don’t want give any spoilers away. I love a good piece of Time Travel romance so this was right up my street. Now I can’t wait for book three to see things from another pov, or anything else Brona mills writes. I'm pleased I've discovered another author to watch out for.

While this is the second book in the Time Series, it can be read as stand alone. I was so excited for Stella and David’s story and was not disappointed. So creatively written, Mills was successful in telling this tale in a way that it didn’t feel redundant to the first book, despite the stories running in a somewhat parallel timeline. The characters were well developed and likeable. I felt like I was reunited with good friends. My heart hurt every time Stella and David were torn apart yet I couldn’t put it down. I needed to forge forward to get back to them. It was an absolutely wonderful read and an amazing and fresh twist on a time travel theme. The ending left me wanting more... so much more. I am praying for a Liam and Caitlyn story.

I read this book on Kindle unlimited.

Oh my what a brilliant follow on to the the first book, it completes it perfectly. I would recommend that you read the first book before this one as it ties everything together and gives you a more understanding view of this book.

I read the first book nearly a year ago and it blew me away, I've never had that happen to me before or after.... Until this book!

This was based on David and Stella and it made so much of the first book fall into place even though it could be read as a stand alone I'd definitely recommend you to read the first book before this one and not the other way around. I couldn't put this book down when I got it, I've been waiting for it for so long wanting to know if anything worked it's way out or if Brona was going to leave it the way it was. The first book paves the way for this one and you grasp it and then run with it because you understand it more after the first one.

I was really confused reading the first book for the first few pages but this time I went with it and understood it a lot easier. I don't know how Brona does it because I'd never read a book like it until her first one. This is telling it from a different side and it's more David and Stella's story than Michael's and Audrey's. I think that's why I could grasp the concept of it quicker because I'd already seen the other side of it.

Like with the first book you can't second guess what's going to happen right up until the last page you don't know even though you try, it swaps from one person to the next so guessing is out of the question.
That isn't a bad thing although I cried again with this book through a good few chapters because it's so emotional and no matter how hard you try to work it out it pulls you in and you have to just go with it rather than thinking of every different ending that could be.

I've not read a series so compelling in a completely different way to other books. I don't know how Brona managed to think of and write one book let alone two that get your brain working so much.

It's time travel but you don't realise who else it involves until you start the second book. I re read the first book so that it was fresh in my mind because I really couldn't believe she'd written the second of the series, mainly because I didn't see how she'd follow such a brilliant book, I didn't think she'd ever manage to write a book good enough to follow on from the first. How wrong I was because this book is every bit as good as the first book. The same people are in this book and it fluidly follows on from where the other one finished so you recognise everyone and that makes it all make sense to you.

I will re read this series again and again because I don't think you can grasp everything so cleverly written the first few times.

Brona is an up and coming author that is one of my favourites, even though she's only written the two books I know she'll only get better the more she writes. These are in my top favourite books and I'm not sure if they can be topped. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next because after what she's done so far she's worth watching.

I'd recommend this book to anyone that enjoys mystery time travel and fantasy romance novels. I'm not sure which section I'd put this book in because it could be in so many.

If I was to recommend one book this year is definitely recommend this one and the same goes for a series. I've read so many books since the last book by Brona but hers is a book I remember more than any other, that is what every author wants and to me that's what makes a perfect book.

This is a book that I will remember for a very long time, it's well written and well worth reading.

Oh my goodness I downloaded it on the 8th of April and read it today and OMWORD it was sensational Stella and David’s story just ever so poignant and mesmerising just truly wow the love and fierce dedication that powerful energy that that degree must consume to be able to stand through the hands of time for their story to come full circle and end in such a way... I laughed I cringed and I cried - I got angry and hurt along with the characters lol so much of it made sense if you have ever heard of Bruce Lipton this book will just gel and take you to a new place entirely Pamela was just amazing and CiCi a gift from heaven lol well David was pretty much heavenly so well written and delivered such a poignant message throughout a definite must read (I’m looking forward to reading book 1) I cried at the selflessness of David’s Character and the strength and determination it took for him to be all he was - how can you choose to allow your souls companion to die - or not know - my heart broke so many times and swelled with so much love for the two main characters love and sheer devotion to make their worlds right and how thought creates reality damn I got schooled and am determined to change my thoughts ❤️ well done truly a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 book in certain scenes and a pleasurable dedicated read ♥️

Rarely do I give a book five stars, but this book got one. I’m a scanner when I read but I couldn’t with this. I had to know every detail It has to be more than I anticipated and this was. I laughed, cried, got chills. It was more than I expected. This book was so close to breaking me emotionally which is what you want in a good story.

Let’s recap. Stella goes into labor and meets a stranger. Little does she know how important this man is to her. A few years later when she meets him again she realizes things are different. He’s younger and doesn’t seem to know who she is. Soon after she begins putting the pieces together that in the future he’s a time traveler and more than that possibly her husband.
Time after time, no matter what happens, no matter the details she has, she can’t seem to stop the future she desperately wishes to avoid from occurring.

Mills spun a story of intrigue and appeal. This was much more than a romance. The sci-fi on time travel was captivating. The romance was enchanting. I was rooting for these characters from the start.

My only issues, and they’re small, I would have like to see more once David was aware of his future and an epilogue would have been good. I wanted more. I needed more.

Let me start by saying that Romantic Sci-Fi isn’t my usual genre, but that’s only a part of this book’s charm. The ability to make me really enjoy something out of my habitual dish.
I haven’t read the first book, but that posed no problem in understanding the unfolding of events in this sequel. It can definitely read as a standalone.
The Sci-Fi time travel elements were masterfully orchestrated. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat – literally. And I found myself eating up the entire book in no time.
Now, for the romance part, it was so closely intertwined with the time travel theme, and that made for an even more exciting ride. The trip of watching Stella and David get together and being ripped apart by time over and over was a delight (that sounded a bit sadistic). The ending was even more rewarding.
Even the side characters had defined and engaging roles that added to the story’s general concept.
The writing and editing were top-notch. I was never pulled out of the story, which is always a huge bonus.
Overall, The Same Time was a brilliant read. Something that would make me want to dig deeper in Brona Mills’ writing.

I'll admit, I didn't read the first one. However, this story truly was able to stand on its own - if you didn't know it was the second in a series, you probably wouldn't guess! Brona weaves a clever story over (what seems like) a lifetime, tying the lives of 6 people together in ways that seem entirely too human, too real. It reminded me of the Time Traveler's Wife on steroids, with more science (honestly, the research/imagination that went into this story, wow!). While the story was perhaps a bit slow-moving in the middle third, the last third of the book had my heart racing, and I couldn't put it down. I was worried about getting confused with the different characters (present-character, future-character, etc) and keeping the timeline straight (pun intended), but the author did a great job of clearly communicating to her audience what was happening. Do not fear being left behind! Plus, I'll definitely have to double back to read the first one now.

I absolutely loved this book, was in tears before the end of the first chapter and it was a roller coaster of emotions from thereon in between smiling, holding my breath, crying....
I rarely find a book which engrosses me so completely but it was definitely one that you need to be free from distractions from in case you missed any detail. Thoroughly enjoyed The Same Time and was delighted I had read A Time for Everything as well but you definitely wouldn't need to have read it in order to enjoy The Same Time.
It's rare I find a book that I don't just read a few pages of here and there before I fall asleep but this was one I wanted to finish and wanted to finish quite quickly as I wanted to know how it all panned out. Great read, couldn't recommend it enough.

Oh my goodness, this book is so good! This was a bit outside of my normal genre, so I was worried I wouldn’t like it. Then I started reading it and couldn’t put it down. The writing is phenomenal and the intelligence behind the story line is astounding. I loved this book, and I’m picky. The story of David and Stella will have you on the edge of your seat until the last word. It is a story about love, sacrifice, and a bit of science, so, basically perfection. I don’t want to give anything away. If this story seems like it’s a bit outside your comfort zone, please, get it anyway, you won’t be disappointed. Buy it now!

*ARC review*

Get ready for your mind to be blown and your heart to explode. This genre was out of my elements for me but I’m so glad I read this book.

The writing was great, the storyline so well thought out, and the characters were people you really cared about. David and Stella, my heart was ripped out of my chest rooting for you. Tears were brought to my eyes in certain parts of the book.

This book just makes you think...it makes you sad and happy. You do really have to pay attention with the time travel because it could get confusing but once you think about it, you’ll figure it out.

*I was able to read this as a stand-alone book but this is book 2 in her series*

* I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own *

This is the story of Stella who is going into labour and is befriended by a stranger David, years later she meets up with him again but he looks different, and she suddenly starts piecing together that her David from the beginning was a time traveller and quite possibly her husband. But each time they come together something and time keeps ripping them apart.
This was a great story by Brona Mills and loved all the characters and how they came together, look forward to the next instalment.
Although this is a standalone, it’s a good idea to read book one just to get a jist of some of the characters.

This would not be my normal type of book but after reading book 1 I genuinely could not wait to get my hands on book 2. It was like I was being reunited with old friends. I was hooked from the first page and it did not disappoint. It was an emotional roller coaster and NOT a book you can see or know the ending of before the story tells you. Even with your wits about you you couldn’t guess. Not a light read but a meaty book with plenty happening and a very satisfying book 2 installment. Happy reading

This is a great sequel to A Time for Everything. The Same Time follows Stella and David through the years. You are given a glimpse of David's research on time travel from a different perspective. I really enjoyed Stella and David's story. I love all the character's in this book. I kind of hope that eventually we get Liam and Caitlyn's story.

I went into reading this book totally blind. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into aside from that it had a time travel theme. After two minutes of reading I was hooked! Such an interesting, complex story. I am excited to go back and read the author’s first book.

Currently at 18% and I don't know why but t's just not my cup of tea.
it's the second time I hit a bored block. What I read in the synopsis (so far) is not what I am currently reading, and mostly that's fine, it's just that for this case, it does not piqued my interest.
I will not be able to give a rating for this book because I might revisit (reread) it someday, I'll just try to read other books first to get out of the book funk.
But as of writing, DNF at 18%
