When twenty-four-year-old Cassandra Ambrosia threatens to leave her husband in a reckless test of his love, the last thing she expects is for the huge, handsome beast of a man to strip her, spank her, and then claim her more thoroughly and shamefully than she would have thought possible.
Cassandra made a vow, and her husband plans to make her keep it. He has been gentle, but now he will teach her what it means to belong to an alpha wolf. She will obey him or be punished.
As her mate masters her beautiful body completely, taking her as hard and often as he pleases, Cassandra's passion is rekindled and soon burns hotter than ever. But her rash words unwittingly triggered an ancient curse which has plagued the Ambrosia family for generations, and with a terrible evil closing in, the entire pack will have to stand together if they are to survive.
I have been writing stories as long as I can remember. I am an author with Blushing Books. I enjoy writing both contemporary erotica as well as historical books set in ages past. I love developing characters that are able to tell their own stories. My heroines are multi-faceted women who are strong, intelligent and capable in their own right but find a deep need to share their lives with those strong, sexy and dominant alpha males that capture their hearts. My heros recognize the gift of submission for the gift it is, loving and protecting the women that offer that gift. I enjoy sweet, romantic stories with just a taste of domestic discipline as well as one that explore the harsher D/S lifestyle. I also enjoy writing age-play stories set both in Victorian era where women didn't have a great deal of power in their lives as well as in today's present time where women still find their happiness is greatly enhanced in offering the gift of submission. My hope is that you settle back in your favorite chair and allow my books to entertain you and let you escape into another world.

What an amazing and powerful story that will include humans, shifters, the paranormal, demons, and the sanctity of honoring vows. A legend passed down through the centuries in the Ambrosia family started with a business agreement being broken and a curse that will follow those in the family anytime a vow or oath is broken. When a married couple, Deo and Cassandra Ambrosia hit a snag in their marriage and in a fit of anger, she will utter the words, “I’m leaving,” and it will start the catalyst once again to the Ambrosia pack, bringing evil to their door.
“Words I’d thrown out in anger, words I’d not even meant, and yet they’d set things into motion that changed my life.” –Cassandra
The plot of the story will have hastily words said in anger change the dynamics of a marriage, but also bring evil forces into play. Nothing is more sacred than a vow, or oath that is given, and nothing more detrimental, than it to be broken. While Deo and Cassandra live in an ideal lifestyle of wealth and position, him in finance and her as an attorney, it doesn’t mean they have the perfect marriage. Too much fighting, closed doors, and anger brewing will finally explode in a fit of angry words.
Deo, a dominant man, should have started their marriage off from the beginning with dominance and control, which included using domestic discipline. Like the saying, “No good deed goes unpunished,” he will learn that he didn’t do his wife, his marriage, and his pack a favor, but now that ship has sailed, and trouble is on the way. The best he can do is prepare for battle.
“Discipline. You lack discipline, my sweet. Know this, Cassandra. This is a new beginning for you—for me—for us.”
Meet the players, because they each will have a critical role to play. Cynthia and Andrew, human friends and co-workers of Cassandra. Alekos, brother of Deo, Defender of mankind, Draco, the Dragon Guardian, Baal (Balthazar) Protector of the King, Xander, Protector, Artem and Dolly Ambrosia, Uncle and human Aunt, and Aunt Margaret. Deo means ‘godlike’ and is Alpha of the pack.
Baal and Draco will be sent to retrieve Cassandra at work, along with all the Ambrosia records and then driven to Ravensloft Castle, where eventually the legend, the problems, and the solutions will be explained to not only Cassandra but her friends, Cynthia and Andrew. Now it is time to prepare for the evil forces that are coming.
“Everything will be fine. I protect what is mine. I will explain everything as soon as possible. Welcome to the pack, princess.”
The new dynamics of the marriage of Deo and Cassandra come with rules, punishment, penance, and respect. Cassandra thrives off of the dominance and control of Deo, and while she still disobeys, she will be held accountable for her actions, his word is final, and no more arguments.
“Because you are my husband, my master, my lover and –the leader of my pack.” –Cassandra
Deo and Draco will both discipline Cassandra for her disobedience because that disobedience could put her and them all in harm's way. Deo as her husband, and Draco as her guardian. Both men will lay down their lives to protector her. Deo has decided that Draco loves her as he does, and considers him his second.
“It is my duty to discipline you, but it is my greatest honor to love you, “ –Draco
In the next book, the dynamics of the relationship will change from a couple as Deo and Cassandra to a triad of mates, Deo and Cassandra will add Draco as his second. Both men will protect and punish Cassandra and keep her safe and happy. The story has many punishments, along with explicit sex scenes.
“I think I was made for this life,” she whispered. “I was made for you, for Draco—for our family, our pack. It’s the most important vow you can make, isn’t it?” she mused. “Promising your life to another?”
Casandra and Deo are husband and wife. She is a lawyer and he works in finance. But Deo has a secret and once Cassandra said the words "I'm leaving", the secret had to be told. Deo Ambrosia has been under a curse. This curse has been placed on any member of the Ambrosia line for many centuries. Now that Cassandra said those two little words, the curse has come upon them full force. We meet other members of the Ambrosia family throughout this story. I love the fact that we are led along, as piece by piece the truth is revealed to Cassandra. The reader doesn't learn anything before the heroine does. It keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for more revelations. This story contains BDSM in the form of spankings and anal toys. If you don't like those things then this is not the book for you. But if you like intense books with a disciplinarian as the hero, then I encourage you to read this book.
I didn't finish this book. I made it to the end of the 2nd disciplinary session and it just wasn't for me.
I don't know if it is where I am in my life or where the world is, it just felt like I was reading a rape control fantasy. The writing and plot aside from this seemed alright. I don't mind a little spanking in the bedroom, even the occasional BDSM romance. This felt different it felt like she couldn't speak without being afraid she was going to be disciplined sexually. "No" wasn't an acceptable answer. Reading it made my chest tight and like I was being crushed by his actions, it wasn't titillating or exciting to me at all.
so take my review with a grain of salt if complete submission is your bag you would probably enjoy this.
I would have awarded negative stars if possible! Horrible book the female role is supposedly a 30+ year old lawyer but acts like shes a freaking teen. Main male character is a possessive, egotistical, rapist who assaults his own wife. I'm actually fuming that I even started reading this! I'm all for a bit of BDSM and passionate love etc but there is a definite line between consensual sex and rape, disgusting.
A bit conflicted about this book. I had to put it down a few times to prepare myself to read some parts. Deo was too much, i didn’t like him at all, I prefer Draco, he was more in tune with Cassie's needs and wants more than her so called husband.
The things I hated: (I'll refer to Cassandra as C and Deo as D) 1. Communication is nonexistent between D and C. 2. D doesn't tell C the truth about himself, the curse, and that he is a shifter (C doesn't react at all D's revelations, she's just worried if he is going to spank her). 3. Whenever she tries to get his attention (albeit in a wrong way), he ignores her and works instead. 4. He wants her to obey him without giving her reasons at all, and here I would like to shed the light on a few things that if I was in C's place I'd pick a huge fight with D (it appeared that he wants her to be a mindless doll that her only purpose is life is obeying her husband) 1st, when she first tells him that she is leaving he doesn't accept it at all, spanks her (without previous consent), and takes her roughly which is so diff from her loving and boring husband (her words not mine). 2nd, in their vows, she vowed to obey him. If from the start of your marriage you agreed to have a traditional marriage and with the husband as the head of the household, then why didn't you act on it from the beginning? What made you drift apart to the point of breaking up? 3rd, he sends his 2nd in command to go and retrieve her ( as if she is his pet dog 🙄) from her office, the man she never saw before and doesn't know of his existence (keep in mind that they- D and C- talked the night before and he didn't "grace" with the knowledge that he is going to send his 2nd the nex day to get her) and expecting her obedience while also informing her that she is no longer allowed to work at the firm and her job is solely going to be the lawyer of her husband's company. And the man had the authority from D to take her by force. This whole thing is just so wrong. Also, his 2nd had their vows, knew she vowed to obey D, and that C was disciplined and spanked by D (aslo without her consent) 4th, D was advised by his uncle to "take her by the hand" from the beginning of rheir marriage (interfering much?). When C talked with D's uncle, the uncle told him that she became so submissive and that she had him "wrapped around her pretty little finger " while D happily declared that things changed and he now "had her under his thumb". 5th, apparently all his male pack members had the authority to spank and discipline C. 6th, he spanked her because when he pretty much Kidnapped her without giving her his reasoning, prohibiting her from talking with her friends without giving her his reasoning also, and he was so happy that he "had his Princess locked in her tower like he loved it".

5.0 out of 5 starsMagical Story ByDonna Lon March 31, 2018 Format: Kindle Edition I am a fan of both of these authors and I was especially excited to see that they were collaborating together in this new series. The chemistry between Deo and Cassandra is explosive, with its high octane scenes. The story started at a fast pace and continued to the last page. This book was very entertaining with its many twist and turns, good verses evil with good prevailing this time. How could Cassandra possibly know that two words said in anger would trigger a chain of events that puts her family and friends in mortal danger. It was time Deo took control,Cassandra lacked discipline and he was tired of her games. Her cry for attention finally cracked Deo's calm shell,Cassandra would never laugh at Deo again when he ordered her over his knees. The powerhouse Lawyer was now a contrite little girl.As Deo's dominant personality emerged,Cassandra's submission began to roll over her. Whisked away to Ravensloft,Cassandra is surrounded by Deo's family and her friends. Her life was no longer predictable or boring, they all must prepare for the battle of their lives. Can Cass learn to obey not only Deo but her protector,Draco.A tender, hot behind was good incentive for the strong willed young woman to behave.I enjoyed Cassandra's character, her tough exterior hid her true submissive nature.Cassandra shines during the battle scenes but is this enough to break the curse. This book is mystical, magical, erotic, dangerous, tantalizing with vibrant characters that are pivotal to the storyline.
This book took me several days to figure out what I wanted to say for the review. It has an interesting premise and a different take on the idea of werewolves and a pack, with some nifty magical elements thrown in—and some cool imagery to help develop all of it. The characters are distinct and engaging. There are some moments of exquisite tension.
However, there’s also a lot of scenes that feel like filler; scenes that are more about telling the reader something than showing them. And those moments of tension almost always built up everything nice and tight, like climbing the hill on a roller coaster, only to tip over and head downward and find that you only have a little ways to fall before it’s over and the problem has been overcome. Everything seem easy and forced. The characters didn’t earn anything, they were given it by the author who wanted things a certain way.
Overall, I’m still going to try book two and see where it goes. There was definitely enough good in this story for that. But I also feel that this is one of those books that feels like it’s on its way to quality and took a lot still at an enjoyable average and forgot to continue on its way down the path of revisions and tweaking and just plain growing into its promise.
This story is about family values (it's not what you think) and strong marriages (once again, probably not what you think). Deo and Cassie's marriage is lacking a little "something." Deo believes he's found it: domestic discipline. Cassie's threat to leave Deo starts a fantastic journey for the couple as well as the extended family that is involved in a race to save mankind.
I loved the charisma that Deo, and in fact all of the Ambrosia family males, exhibit. They come across as sexy with that definitely alpha (and beta, down to omega) strength to them. The women in the book are no weaklings, either. They are able to do whatever their hearts want with one hand tied behind their back and do it just as well as any guy. There are no weaklings in this bunch of characters, although Andrew does look that way, doesn't he? I suppose that you just need to keep searching to find your true calling.
The author did a wonderful job, here. I'm definitely going to check out the upcoming release of book 2 that will follow a certain menage on further adventures. There is a HEA for now and certainly, this book could be read as a standalone. If you're like me, though, you won't be able to stop.

Customer Review 5.0 out of 5 starsUnique Storyline!! Bysewsummoreon March 31, 2018 Format: Kindle Edition This is the story of the Ambrosias Family, cursed forever to fight the darkness, pure evil in itself. Cassandra is the wife of Deo, head of the Ambrosias family and leader of their clan of wolf shifters. Though surprised at the knowledge she is married to a wolf shifter Cassandra takes the knowledge in her stride and begins to train with others of the family for the battle soon to come. Draco is her appointed Guardian whose job is to protect her at all costs. Deo accepts the love Draco has for his wife and asks him to join in their marriage as co-mate to Cassandra. This is a wolf shifter story with a unique storyline twist, as good must overcome evil and love must be tempered with obedience and submission. There was a lot of drama and erotic lovemaking in this story as well as domination and submission before Cassandra and Deo cement their relationship and forge a new path to future happiness with Draco. Loved the storyline, cannot wait for the next exciting book. Excellent read.

The Wolf’s Demands is the first book in the Shifter’s Call Series and it was thrilling, full of mystery, magic, curses, and love. In a fit of rage, Cassandra said two words that would forever alter the course of her life, but perhaps it is for the best. Dio, her husband, has been hiding certain aspects of his life from Cassandra, but with those two words, everything is slowly revealed to Cassandra and her love and obedience will be tested again and again. Will Cassandra join the fight of her life to keep everyone she loves safe?
Can I just say that I love absolutely everything about this book?! I loved Dio and Cassandra’s dynamic, in their marriage (especially as it shifts), professionally, how they act and respond to each other in the castle, they were so perfect for each other. Cassandra was such an amazing person, so strong, full of life and curiosity, but truly gave the gift of her submissiveness to her husband. Dio was all alpha, and I love that he was supportive, protective, and dominant! The supporting characters were absolutely amazing and I loved how important to this story and fight they each were! I can’t wait for the next book, to see everyone again, and to read about what may come next! I highly recommend this book!
Two small words started it all, "im leaving" Cassandra stated. she didnt mean these words, but these two words started the Curse that would lead to a battle between good and evil. Vows are not to be broken no matter if the words are said in jest or frustration, Cassandras husband Deo on hearing these two words realised at once that he had been slack with his wife, he should of given her what she needed from the start, and that was his Dominance over her. Now she is in danger and a battle is coming. They must all prepare. He takes his wife to a Castle far away where his clan is and where he can tell her his secret. There she learns not only is he in charge, but Drago is now her Guardian - his job = to protect her at all costs
These two ladies have written a stunning book, one that puts you in the scene while you are reading. Also i must say i do love how they have described how the wolves transform, its utterly beautiful and i could just see it in my minds eye as it was described. I really am looking forward to reading the next in this series it will as exciting as this or even more if i know both the ladies
I received an Advance Reader Copy for THE WOLF’S DEMAND: An Alpha Shifter Romance (Shifters' Call, Book #1) written by Maggie Ryan & Shanna Handel and voluntarily reviewed this book. Cassandra Ambrosia has had enough - she wants out of her marriage, the one which has ended up with no spark and no connection. But once her husband Deo, a strong Greek Alpha-type realizes how she feels, he realized that that he has been going about his vows all wrong, and he sets about righting her views on how their marriage is supposed to be, with a very firm and unshakeable hand. Still waters, run deep, and Cassandra is slowly realizing that there is more than meets the eye with her husband…something very unbelievable if she didn’t see it with her own eyes and meet his very close-knit and trusted family and friends. Deo is not associated with the mafia after all, much to her relief, but what is coming in the air may be much, much worse! Looking forward to reading the second installment to see what happens with Cassandra and Leo and the mystique of their world!
The Wolf's Demand is a well written collaboration of Maggie Ryan and Haley Adams. From one moment to the other, Cassandra's world is upside down. Owning a beautiful house and being a successful lawyer is what she is used to, and now she is living in a castle with a very strict husband and several men who make sure that she is safe. When she learns the reason why her life changed so much, it is something she would never had expected - not even in her wildest dreams.
What an interesting read! There is suspense, magic, demons, shifters and so much more. The men are all dominant, and Deo is such a hot specimen that he literally made me weak in the knees whenever he disciplined or made love to Cassandra. The secondary characters also were very interesting - I adored aunt Margaret! - and I hope that some of them might get their own stories. What I also enjoyed so much is that Cassandra is a very strong woman and knew her own mind. All in all I loved this book, it captivated me right from the beginning and held my interested until the end.
I liked it. The book starting off does not seem like it is in any way supernatural, but you get a better gist past the first couple chapters. I think I would have given the book a higher rating, but I am not so much into the whole constant punishing part. This book has more discipline and punishment than anything else. I think I would have been good with a little less of that, and more of the story. If you are into the whole submissive and punishment thing, then this book is definitely for you. If you are more into the supernatural part, I think you can give the book a chance, but be warned...there is definitely more Dom/Sub than anything else. I did like the characters. I fell more for Draco than I did for Deo. I am still curious about what Draco's abilities are. This book does end at a good spot, but it is obvious there is more and will be more. That means that this book is actually a part of a series.

I've really enjoyed reading what Shanna Handel writes. She writes some really sweet and lovely romances. You get some warmth out of her stories, but she doesn't tend to add as much heat as other authors did. Maggie Ryan, though, she can bring the heat like nobody's business. She does sweet too, but not the same way that Shanna does. So, when Shanna decided to rework her book, she made a really good choice going with Maggie, IMO.
I enjoyed the original story, and thought that it had a really interesting view on becoming a shifter. I enjoyed the basic storyline, and the love between Cassandra and Deo. But, I have to say that I like the story better with Maggie's input. The pair of them took the original book and put it through a polish, knocked off some edges, added some facets, and came up with a better book. I really like the changes that it went through, especially the end. I'm happier with the way that it ended up and set it up for the next book in the series. I commend both ladies on a job well done.
These are creatures Cassandra discovers are real as she is taken in hand by her husband Deo. Two small words cause the curse to be brought down upon the pack. They will have to fight back the darkness brought down on the family years ago. Generally a well-written story but there is too much going on to be truly enjoyable for me. Mankind is exposed to supes and their minds don't crack. Human Cass gains a new mate and doesn't think beyond how it will look to the world. An ancient curse triggered when a vow by a pack member is broken. The steamy scenes are smoking hot, but only descriptive after Cass gets punished. And there is, for me, one pivotal scene that is missing - the first time Cass sees her husband shift into his beast. Considering it led to the two mates, that warranted more than a side reference.
The characters are all likeable, bringing a smile or giggle often, even in the heat of battle. But I'm going to forego reading more. Not quite what I was expecting from the series.
Oh my such a riveting story and characters!! Cassandra and Deo are wed and at the opening of this story Cass is telling Deo she's going to leave him. This doesn't go down well with him. He changes before her eyes into a demanding male, a dom who demands submission from his wife. Cass takes to this role quite well. Then one day Deo leaves and then she's being picked up by a friend of her husband's who tells her to pack and leave her office. She arrives in upstate NY at a castle on a hill. Her best friend, Cynthia, being concerned for her calls and demands answers. Then Cynthia is with her on the hill and another surprise, Andrew a fellow lawyer has followed her there intending to rescue her. That's when all involved find out what's actually happening! Action, suspense, surprises and some dom/sub action. Fantastic story, characters and read!!!!! I love the Greek mythology twist incorporated!!!

Not your typical shifter tale. It was so much more. Deo and Cassandra had combustible chemistry. Cassandra was not skimpy little woman. She was strong, and formidable in the courtroom. All it took was two words for Deo's alpha to rise to the forefront in a way Cassandra never expected.
The book grabs you from the very beginning and the pace only seems to increase as you move forward. Then the twists and turns start hitting you one after another. Secrets are revealed, danger surrounds Deo, Cassandra and the others. Cassandra's life changes as she learns to submit, accept discipline, and her protector.
There are shifters, there is magic, intrigue, mystery, and plenty of action. I wouldn't call this a cliffhanger, as the story does it can end here in a sense. But, there is more you want to know, more to come. I am so caught up in this story, I could not possibly stop now.
I loved absolutely everything about this book. Dio and Cassandra’s had a dynamic and chemistry that was fantastic. Their marriage shifts and grows along with their love and their lives. They were so perfect for each other. Cassandra was so strong, full of life and curiosity, and gave the gift of her submissiveness to her husband. Dio was all alpha strong, protecting, supportive and dominant! The characters were throughout the book were fantastic supporting cast of characters. I can’t wait for the next book, to see what will come next and read more of their stories I highly recommend this book!

I am so happy that this is the first one in this series. The next one has a lot to live up to. It's great. Very well written and described. It's also great fun. There are plenty of different elements to hold the reader's interest. All the characters are well done. I loved Deo and Cassandra. Their relationship needs work! There are some spankings but lots of love and submission. I enjoyed the interaction between all the characters, it's fun. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I highly recommend it. It's brilliant. A very well written and enjoyable page-turner.
An erotic, paranormal romance expressing the severe consequences that occur when vows are broken. Beginning with a lesson, the main couples relationship quickly shifts to one of dominance and submission, but much more awaits the main characters. As the veil of secrecy is slowly revealed, the authors begin to spin a steady paced story of good versus evil. This paranormal fairytale includes aspects of dominance and submission, good versus evil, magic, shape-shifting wolf warriors, etc. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
A collaboration between Shanna Handel and Maggie Ryan. It is the first book of a series. .
It is a different mix of paranormal, magic and DD. I liked the new take on shifters in this book. There are great secondary characters in the book. I love it when each character has a distinct voice.
Three is a big chance in the relationship between Deo and Cassandra now that they have started their journey in a DD relationship. Cassandra is much more comfortable which herself and blossoms under Deo’s care. And there are some very steamy scenes.
Cassandra is married to the head of the Ambrosia family Deo and the leader of the shifter clan. She is suprise do to find out she is married to a shifter but goes with it and trains with the rest of the family to help in the battle that is supposed to be coming. Draco is assistant to protect her and is made her Gardian. Deo realizes Draco has feeling and love for his wife and decides to ask him to join their marriage as a co-mate. Interesting storyline and some greats twist and turns.

I have read a lot of shifter books - I have read a lot of PNR’s - I rarely am surprised as to the storylines. This book hits all of my buttons: it’s fresh, it has twists I didn’t see coming, it’s exciting, it sizzles! Couldn’t put this book down once I started reading. I’m sure the restaurant where I was reading didn’t think I’d ever leave. Had to read just “one more chapter” once I made it to the car! Can’t wait for more, and all I can say is I want a Protector of my own. Great start to the series!
Books need to clearly disclose MFM. I got this book thinking oh hey another shifter romance. I so love those. Good versus evil love triumphs over evil. I was half way through the book when the plot of a ménage presents it self. I was upset of course. I’m pretty opened minded but threesomes aren’t my cup of tea. I find threesomes to be being greedy and unfaithful. I don’t mind spankings and whippings canning bdsm. Threesomes just turns me off. The story was ok up until that point.
she put her husband's love to the test and she unleashes a curse and she ends up over his lap. he has to dominate and get her to obey. the passion grows and she falls more in love with it all. there is trouble coming as an evil also awaken. they need to work together to get the better of it. see how they deal with the fences and danger the better. sexy read

What a great start of a new series! Cassandra finds herself in the middle of a shifter war after inadvertent neglect by her husband Deo. Except she had no idea what a shifter was, let alone that she was married to one. I loved that the women were kept as strong characters and not immediately "dumbed down" because they are suddenly more submissive, they stayed true to the character they had been described already and it was a fun read. Looking forward to where the series will take us next.
Well wow! Deon is one dominant male and Cassie sure knows how to push his buttons. My bottom hurts just reading about her punishments. And that was just the beginning of the book. It gets so much more in-depth as it goes. And the ending will having you begging for more. A paranormal romance that is going to only get hotter in the next book. The end has a pretty good fight and the dynamic of the whole group is just awesome.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
Maggie Ryan and Shanna Handel weave together a story of love, commitment, and a closer than “kin” bond of friendship with a paranormal twist! Cassandra is a strong, high powered lawyer. Deo is a very wealthy corporate businessman. Cassandra and Deo are married. Cassandra tests their bonds with her words and unleashes evil in the paranormal world. I could not put this book down! Absolutely love it. It is a stand alone story.
Sort of urban fantasy, as the H and his pack are linked to Greek mythology, and their family curse is old. If the family breaks a vow, evil emerges and the pack must defend the world. The h threatens to break a vow and it is a catalyst for change to her life and their marriage. He becomes a Dom, and discipline is needed. It was good, he was still a remote husband, so she gets to be shared instead, so it will be RH in next book.
