I wish that this story was longer! Sexy Beast is the story of Darcy and James.

~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~This turned out to be quite a good novella despite its length. The writing was very good. The pace was perfect. The plot actually had some depth to it which surprised me given it only took me an hour to read. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet bonus story which was really just a one year later epilogue.

Sexy Beast is a bundle of surprises. We meet Darcy in the first few pages. She feels like she is at a new low in her life. I couldn't blame her. She was stuck and her only family member needs her help more than ever. So she ventures out on a new job. She meets our sexy beast James!! Once I learned how he lived and the anxiety he lives with, this story felt a teensy bit familiar to Beauty and the Beast! I adore that fairy tale, but this short story puts in the extra heat!

"Sexy Beast" Is a short novella by Ella J, and surprisingly for such a short read not only did I find this enjoyable it was also incredibly emotive, unusual to find in such a brief story.
So this tells the story of Darcy and James and right from the beginning, I found this an easy tale to get lost in.
This is told from Darcys POV and despite not getting an in-depth look at James inner psyche I still felt a big connection towards him.

Wow count me in as a fan of Ella J!!! I LOVED this novella. I wasn't sure what to expect but what I got was something I was hooked to until the very end. The twists that come and the budding romance had me engrossed.
Good things come in small packages because although I flew through this book I was satisfied with the story line and characters. I didn't feel that there was anything lacking because the story didn't feel rushed at all.

This is my first Ella J book and it is really good. It is a shorter story, around a novella size. But the story is strong and the characters have a wonderful chemistry with them. I really enjoyed this story and it won't be my last! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

A fast paced, sweet and spicy story! Though quite predictable, Sexy Beast offers sweet moments, and even some unexpected twists. The storyline felt a bit short for me, probably because I love more than anything reading about characters struggles and personal development, but didn't stop me from having a good time. I have loved to read a bit more about Darcy's brother ;)

This blurb caught me from the very beginning. It sounded hot and steamy, with a smidgen of angst. I'm not the biggest fan of angst in books-it has to be GOOD and serve a true purpose. This novella had a touch of angst and I was perfectly fine with it.
