Paul G. Bahn is a British archaeologist, translator, writer and broadcaster who has published extensively on a range of archaeological topics, with particular attention to prehistoric art. He is a contributing editor to Archaeology magazine.

Excellent Maps, and examples of the finds from various locations.

The text is straightforward and should be the start of anyone’s pursuit of an interest in any particular ancient civilization.

A helpful glossary combined with not enough photos of discovered treasures results in my rating of 4*

This Series keeps getting better and better! Author Meara Platt has hopefully chalked up another successful pairing by the infamous Black Widow Bessie Lyons Of the Lyon’s Den between her own nephew, Lord Matthew Lyon and Lady Danielle Haverfield.

Matthew believes that he is there to befriend Lady Danielles brother, but things go awry and he ends up being betrothed to Danielle. The Crown believes her father is involved with a group committing a plot of treason against the country. When things start to go downhill they certainly take a landslide for this couple.

The author takes a serious topic, but adds in loyalty of family, love, and honor to come up with a winner of a book! I definitely would recommend this book because of the humor with the first-rate characters and the exceptional storyline ties it all together!

This is such a fun, quick read!

Scotsman Lord Matthew Lyon is a professor of Mathematics in Edinburgh and is occasionally called upon to work for the Crown. He also happens to be distant relative of Lady Dove-Lyon of the Lyon's Den in London. Our heroine, Danielle's father and odious uncle are somehow involved in a plot against the Crown that Matthew is investigating. So when her brother Simon starts behaving erratically, excessive drinking and gambling, she's desperate to keep him from destroying himself and shows up at the Lyon's Den to save him. Enter Lady Dove-Lyon and her scheming to "force" Danielle to become engaged to Matthew to pay off Simon's debt.

There are some plot holes that left me asking some questions but I loved the characters of Danielle and Matthew and how enigmatic they were.

Can their love survive their secrets?
Matthew is an agent agent for the crown. Danielle has secrets of her own not that she is totally aware of.
Can their love survive the real reason that they have come together.
Meara Platt has written an incredible tale full of intrigue and love.

Found the 1998 printing this atlas in a pile in the room I sleep in while visiting my dad. An historical atlas that is largely outdated due to discoveries of the past 40-years but an interesting, nostalgic journey through the rise of hominids with loads of great illustrations, photographs, and maps.
