4.5* Princess in Practice was a delight. It perfectly balanced drama, adventure, friendship, secrets and self discovery. The characters are wonderful and instantly likeable. The plot has had me totally hooked from the first page of book one and the comfortable, whimsically descriptive writing style makes losing yourself in this story impossible not to do. What’s not to love about a story surrounding princesses, lies, sweets and what I get the feeling is the beginning of an f/f first love? This s ...more

I originally gave this 4 stars but i’m rounding it up because of the fluid of sexuality shown in the character Lottie.
In the first book, she was attracted to a male character and, in this was, she was attracted to a female character. Lottie didn’t obsess over this change but just let this happen. As a bi girl, i think this is a really real character trait. The execution of this is something i would love to see more in books and other media.

Princess in practice follows two main plots: figuring out what Leviathan is and finding out Lottie's background.

I think the things I was most excited about in this novel was the growth of friendships and budding romances. I could see my main one I was rooting for being hinted at in book 1 but felt like I was thrown off the scent, so you can imagine that I was squealing when certain characters started saying how they felt and that other characters could tell and was trying t

Lottie has found her home. Emotionally and in person with Ellie, her roommate and best friend at Rosewood Hall. And unlike Jamie, who sees his position as a burden for Lottie her new role is everything she ever wanted. But how can you show a person who grew up with the knowledge she still has to get, that having a choice is always better? And when Lottie starts her training with Jamie, she starts to understand, that power is nothing if you cant defend yourself.

Easy to read, with some a

As with the first book I loved the story and every character (especially Lottie and Ellie).

The writing was intriguing and dragged me inmaking me want to listen more and more and more. The plot was a little bit slow and the plot overall felt like more of the first half to a book than a whole book itself (which it making me consider giving it 4 stars instead of 5)....but that has definitely made me want to read the 3rd book now and not have to wait for it. Which in my opinion is the sign of good w

Actually 4.5, loved this book, the romance is spot on for me but there was a lot of waffling in the middle and some chapters that just didn’t need to be there !

I'm falling in love with this series it is deferentially my guilty pleasure read. when i first heard about it i was sceptical of it but after finishing book one i couldn't get the plot or characters out of my head.
so when i found out about book two i was dead set on getting it, but i then i got in a reading slump and sadly it has taken me 2 months to get to it however it did not disappoint.
This book had all the characters we know and love as well as some knew faces. we got our first def charact

After reading Undercover Princess I literally could not wait for book 2 to be released! Princess in Practice met my expectations and more! Book 1 set the scene for book 2 so well allowing us to see the characters grow and watch the friendship bond between Ellie and Lottie become stronger. It’s even more pleasing as both characters are so different from each other yet they have a common ground of naturally wanting to protect one another. Even though the story has a magically essence to it I found ...more

I had mixed feelings on Undercover Princess last year, but for some reason I couldn`t resist picking this up soon after its release anyway and I definitely thought it was an improvement of book one. It follows a girl called Lottie Pumpkin, who acts as the Portman for Ellie, who is the princess of Maradova (this essentially means that she pretends she is the princess), and their Partizan Jamie (a very highly trained bodyguard to the princess) as they begin their second year at Rosewood after some ...more

This was a really fun and adorable addition that led to me feeling even more invested in the characters and stories. Personally, the characters and their relationships were a clear stand-out, especially due to the fact that I had forgotten a lot of events in the previous book and spent the first 100 pages trying to work out what was going on. While I can recognise that some elements of the book initially appear cheesy and filled with tropes, they were approached in such a way that gave the book ...more

This is everything I look for in a book; Relatable and likeable characters, character growth, posh boarding school drama, princesses, mysteries and plot twists.

After becoming obsessed with the first book in the series; Undercover Princess, I couldn't wait to dive into this one, I was not disappointed. I read this book in one sitting, being unable to put it down. I can not wait until the release of the 3rd book in September.

This book tells the continued story of Lottie Pumpkin and Ellie Wolf, tw

Princess in Practice is the second book in The Rosewood Chronicles. Anyone who’s talked to me about books knows how much I love Undercover Princess (book 1) and how excited I was for this second instalment. And even though the second book felt slightly different than the first one, I absolutely adored it.

Princess in Practice has more tension, drama and things going on than Undercover Princess but the main difference between the two books is the certain loss of innocence that can be felt from the

This series is so cute. The Plot is so unique with their being adventure aswell as drama and friendship. I love that writing style, its easy to read and very descriptive which i felt is needed in some scenes just to describe the scenery. Lottie is staying strong to her role of being Ellies portman even if it means she having to lie in class. Lottie and Ellie both do a lot of self discovery in this book and learn things about themselves they never thought was possible. We see the characters worki ...more

I really enjoyed how well this picked up, theme wise, from the previous book, and getting to see more of Ellie and Lottie. Though I wanted more Binah!

The mystery this time was both good and bad - it was pretty well done, but left a few gaps and a few annoying red herrings. The overall arc is compelling though, and I’m looking forward to what happens next. I did want more around what was going on with Jamie, or even the twins. There’s a lot of side stories in this that don’t really get tied up a

Thinking about these books for more than 2 minutes literally makes my chest hurt because of how much I love them. I’m not saying it’s a perfect book or anything, I’m sure there’s some things that could have gone differently, but I don’t know what those things would be, because I can’t focus on anything but the good stuff . There’s a lot of good stuff. It’s just so well-written, the description is just-oh my god it’s so good, I instantly see the characters and Rosewood in my mind even when I simp ...more

I know I’m probably biased cause I like Connie so much, but I felt like she improved so much in this book. It was well-written and thought out and I loved how you could predict certain things if only you paid enough attention to the ‘small things’. I still love Jamie with all my heart, so I want him to stop being stubborn and deal with his demons, but I quite enjoyed comparing Lottie’s development to his, even though she’s the one who’s supposed to be soft and weak. Can’t wait for the next one

After finishing Undercover Princess, the first book in Connie Glynn's Rosewood series, I didn't think it was possible to be more enchanted than I already was. Oh, was I wrong!

Princess in Practice is thrilling, magical and everything I wanted from this series. I adore the characters and the way they've grown so far. Rosewood is a magical place I want to get lost in and explore with Lottie, Ellie, Jamie and the others. I can't wait to see what more comes from this beautiful series.
