This guide explains a bit how the bodily systems are supposed to work, then expounds on various illnesses and conditions that can occur when something goes wrong. It is handy for home use to orient the reader about many common maladies, through both descriptions and images. A diagnostic section offers some flow charts that help the reader to find out what issues might be indicated from particular symptoms. The family calls it the "You're Gonna Die" book because darn near everything urges you to "seek medical attention now". I suspect it was not written by doctors, but by doctors' lawyers. Save time. Look up the symptoms on the internet.

It's mostly a guide for a healthy lifestyle but there is also description of many medical issues and ways of treatment. No book can replace a doctor, though.
