At long last, I’ve found a book that I can give for a recommendation to people who want a good starting point in Tudor history. It’s a lot of history and a lot of years, along with a whole bunch of names as people go in and out of favor.

My first ever! Ebook💜 The Lazy Historian’s guide to “the wives of Henry VIII”......................................
What a fantastic book! A book written for the seasoned Tudorfreak or for someone who get’s in with the Tudors for the first time! The writer runs through it beautifully .... and when your mind wanders of... and starts asking questions, the writer answers with a hint of sarcasm... so you read on with a grin 😉 she explains a lot of topics along the way, about family’s, relations, dise

The Lazy Historian’s Guide to the Wives of Henry VIII is an entertaining and relatively quick read, perfect for those who like their history with a dash of humour! The book charts the history of Henry VIII’s reign through his six wives, with interesting added asides on Tudor courtship, marriage and childbirth, and on notable figures at the royal court. Jillianne Hamilton shows great sympathy for each of the queens, underlining the pressure that they must have felt amid the gossip, scandal and tr ...more

Do you enjoy reading about the Tudor`s? Then you need to pick up this gem of a book. The chapters are just the right length to keep your interest and not overly done. Learn the basic stories of the six women to be sought after by Henry VIII who turned their lives upside down. Jillianne Hamilton intersperes wit and humor through out the story also. Find links to websites and more books to continue on your journey of learning more of the interesting Tudor`s and their lives. I give this book 5 sta ...more

Great read. I love how the author gives a lot of detailed information about each of the wives. She has a great sense of humor. When the truth is put out there. Learned a lot more about all of his wives.
