This book is an account of the rise and fall of Joe Clark's Progressive Conservative government of 1979-80. It won the Governor General's Award for Non-Fiction, and quite deservedly. It is a superb work of political journalism-judicious, insightful, and well written. The book will also give readers some idea as to why Joe Clark later lost his party's leadership. A classic work that still repays reading.
