It isn’t easy to find a great Christmas story when you feel that you have read all the best, starting with Truman Capote’s “Christmas Memory,” but I saw this one on a popular book list and decided to give it a try, after all, I felt I could relate to it since I have always liked cowboys, which was due to my upbringing, not my common sense. You see, I grew up in a small cowtown, and I mean small, 500 people. Well, I didn’t grow up there, but my formative years were s

3.5 stars- Jessica Clare is my go-to comfort contemporary read, so when I saw she had a Christmas book coming out this year (cuz y'all know I love a Christmas book), I was hype. This delivered everything I want from a Jessica Clare contemporary- light/funny tone, low angst, and (usually) awareness of potentially icky power dynamics or cringey tropes. This book is a forced proximity, trapped-together-in-the-snow trope.... with amnesia. So. Much. could have gone wrong here, but I really appreciate ...more

Yes, I read a Christmas romance in July! I needed a change from my other contemporaries. This was so cute and I really enjoyed it. We had a grumpy cowboy and a sunshine heroine who had amnesia. If that doesn’t sound like something I would love, then I don’t know what does.

Eli and Cass were such a joy to read about! They were so good for each other and brought out the better qualities of each other. Cass helped Eli become more soft and open to others caring about him. Eli helped Cass realize that

Rated 4.5 - ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A COWBOY by Jessica Clare is a sweet, endearing romance with a sexy edge to it. Jessica Clare is a new-to-me author whose style I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m not normally attracted to sexy books with man chests on the covers, so even though I knew her volume of books were in that style, I couldn’t resist this modern-day ranching story. I’m so glad the cover kept calling to me and I ignored my normal preferences.

Snowed in for Christmas, oh that makes for the perfect winter book!

Cass is an assistant (and oh my, she should quit, she can not see how much she is used, not to mention her boss' fiance keeps hitting on her, creep!) But she is a nice hardworking woman (that should take a chance). So she goes away for the holidays to be alone. Boom car accident, stuck int he mountains with a cowboy!

Eli was omg the sweetest. All he does is work work and no time for a woman. He is just too sweet and has let go of

We all know why this is a "Just Becuase" challenge for me. I'm doing a just because it's Christmas in July! How could I not review a holiday-themed book? Well, I couldn't.

Jessica Clare is a newer author for me. I have to admit I think I read something by her but I'm not 100% sure. Which doesn't say much for what I could have read. Not that I let it reflect on this book. I went into this one like I've never read her

I'd read a later book in this series and it was great to go back and start at the beginning. I love the setting of the ranch with the animals. I am not sure how realistic the storyline but it was fun.

Rancher Eli Pickett doesn't mind Christmas but he's not really a fan. He was supposed to be alone for the Holidays. But thanks to a missing cow who's known to escape, he'll spend it with a pretty brunette from Manhattan who have amnesia after driving in a blizzard and losing control of her car. So what is she doing in Wyoming?

I'm not reading this series in order and that's totally fine. I love that dogs have such an important part in this series. I thought Cass was a little too blind when it ca

There is nothing better than a delicious Christmas romance novel, so I was really excited when this novel came across my suggestions on netgalley. The setting was absolutely gorgeous and it made me want to immediately run out west and enjoy the snow and cold weather this Christmas. The characters were fun and entertaining and the storyline was catchy and had me flipping the pages late into the night. There were definitely cheesy parts, but what else would you expect with a Christmas love story? ...more

I received a copy of this book through Penguin's First to Read program. This is my honest review.

It's that time of year again when I want to read all things Christmas (and I even find myself more inclined to just veg out in front of the tv watching cheesy movies as well), so I was excited to be able to guarantee a copy of this book and dive right in to the holiday spirit. Unfortunately, this book failed to completely live up to my expectations.

First of all, it was severely lacking in the Chris

This was my first book by Jessica Clare and it was a good one. I'm a sucker for Christmas stories and a super sucker for books where they hero and heroine are in a situation where they are stranded together with nothing but the heat between them. Therefore, I was a gonner from the beginning of this book.
Clare's characterization was wonderful. You couldn't help but love Eli and Cass. The amnesia that Cass suffers after a car crash in a winter storm allows her character to almost start over to dec

Jessica Clare takes on the holiday season with an emotionally stunning romance. Eli and Cass are two lonely hearts desperately searching for something to hold on to. A winter storm, a fluke accident and a case of amnesia changes the course of two lives in All I Want For Christmas is a Cowboy. Alone is no way to spend the holidays, yet Eli does so every year. Sweet, funny and so romantic holiday story. A die hard Cowboy, Eli, whose life is the ranch he runs discovers a young woman, Cass, in a crashed car on the top of a mountain in a blizzard. She is unconscious, covered with bruises so he brings her back to the ranch. It’s a week before Christmas, the roads are impassable, and all the staff is gone. It’s just him, the animals and now this beautiful young woman. When she finally wakes, she has no idea who she is, why she was in the car and where she ...more

Cassandra Horn is one lucky lady. Well, maybe "lucky" isn't quite the right word to use. It certainly wasn't a lucky event to smash her rental car into a tree on the way up a snowy Wyoming mountain in a blizzard. But it was lucky that she wasn't hurt too badly and her wrecked car was spotted and she was rescued by a tall, sexy cowboy. Then again it wasn't lucky to have no memory of who she is or of the recent past. Maybe the being rescued by the tall, sexy cowboy aced everything so lucky ends up ...more

Xmas and cowboys....how could I resist this one?

Cass is escaping to her parent's winter cabin in Wyoming before the blizzard hits. She needs to escape Manhattan and her boss' boyfriend who will not stop harassing her for sex (ugh - call the police on that jerk). The snowstorm hits before she can make it and she crashes her car. Eli, our hunk of a cowboy, comes to the rescue. There is no way he can take her anywhere but the house on the ranch he works at. She awakes with barely any memories. Thi

I loved this story from the first to the the last page. Eli is truly some girls day dream coming true. His character is very lovable, as is Cass’s. I did have a little bit of trouble with the surroundings at 60% of the book. Most af all happens at the same place, and that smothered me a bit. But after all, I loved the characters and the story. Definitely gets a recommendation from me!

This was the first book I have read by author Jessica Clare, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I will admit that sometimes when an author uses amnesia as a plot device it can be cheesy. However, with this novel, it worked. In this instance, amnesia led Cass to finally discover who she really was and not the woman she was trying to be in the city. All in all, this was a heartwarming holiday romance. Maybe that was due to the gruff, loner cowboy finally finding love and family or simply the w ...more

This had so much potential. It features a lot of tropes I really love in romance novels. It just wasn’t executed that well. There was cheesy awkward dialogue that just didn’t feel like real human beings talking to each other and there was too much miscommunication and just not talking to each other about how they felt.

Man saves woman, and woman saves him right back.

Eli rescues Cass after a nasty car accident. Cass rescues Eli from his loneliness. Even with concussion-induced amnesia, bruised ribs, and various injuries, she can't help but fall for the chivalrous, hunky, yet brooding cowboy. For his part, Eli is doing all he can to take care of Cass and help her heal, even if it means ignoring his attraction to her and trying to keep his hands to himself. Cass has a kind soul and endless optimism, just what

Christmas may be coming, but it's just another day at the ranch as far as Eli Pickett is concerned. Someone has to take care of the herd and that means no holiday vacation for him. But that's just the way he likes it--it’s not like he has a woman to spend time with anyways. Most women don't want the ranch life, or the surly, silent cowboy that comes with it. Fine with him. I don't know, perhaps just not my cup of tea. It was 'too' everything.
I also is just another romance book where the male character and his dogs are the only likeable elements in it, and that's sad.
Not that anyone really expects much realism from romance...but here the whole story was formulated in such an unrealistic/fabricated way, it just wasn't fun to read in the end.
First, the too ridiculous idea of a 'famous actor boyfriend of her employer turned stalker and she can't do anything and no one

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A COWBOY was a fun and quick-paced read that had me turning the pages to see what would happen next. All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy (The Wyoming Cowboy #1). By Jessica Clare, Narrator: Abby Craden. 2019. Tantor Audio (Unabridged audiobook, 8 hours, 3 mins).

Leading into the Christmas holiday, Eli Pickett finds only himself at the Wyoming cattle ranch he works at, as the rest of the hired hands have left on vacation. He doesn’t mind though, he’d much rather have the solitude the snow-covered sprawl provides than be a charity case.

Cassandra Horn is a long way from Manhattan, but she needs a

Eli Pickett was looking forward to a quiet two weeks to get some ranch work done when the other hands take off for Christmas. While tracking a wayward cow he finds Cass and brings her back to the ranch.
