The mad priest gave me everything.
Twenty-one years in prison allows a man time to process.
To plot.
To plan.
I’ll take my vengeance in money, in power, and most importantly, on her body.
Mercedes Mondego sold me into hell, leading me to the altar like a sheep to a cliff's edge.
Every thread I place on the board will wrench together and lead me back to her. Oh, but I’m don

I'm so glad I didn't listen to some of the reviews for this book!!! Yes their were a few miss placed words and typo's,but the storyline was awesome and the characters were multi layered and so interesting!!! I've always loved the count of Monte cristo and this twisted version was awesome!!! The steamy hot chemistry between Will(Edmond Dantes) and Mercy started from page one and just kept getting hotter and hotter. What starts out as revenge for being imprisoned for twenty one years turns into ga ...more

There's a good book in here just crying for an editor to rescue it. So many typos, transposed words, and flat out wrong words that reading was more tedious than enjoyable. It's a shame more attention wasn't paid to such basics before releasing the book.

The Count by Monica Corwin

Loving homage to the original

Binge reading a series can sometimes reveal patterns. For this group, it shows similar erotic elements - orgasmic foot rubs, masturbating in a shower, manual, oral, and intercourse skills - interspersed with a more modern version of the classic tale.

The characters fell slightly flat for me, especially secondary ones. The book is written with obvious passion for the source material, but it's a very high bar to live up to. The main characteristics of the lead characte

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

This story starts with tossing you right into the story and then things are explained as it goes on. Let me tell you there were so may NO Way and Oh that makes since now moments in this book. It was kind of nice being left in the dark and not knowing until it was time.

Mercy had to do a lot of manipulating to get were she was today. Now there is someone in town that is slowly taking everything she has away from he

Needs heavy editing!

This book is very slow, and full of typos and misplaced words. It was very distracting and took from the story. The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorites, which is what drew me to this book. However, it's hard to enjoy a book when the female leads indicates the male lead ran his fingers along the name of her neck, I assume it was supposed to be nape. There were many instances such as this.
