An accomplished canoeist in his own right, Cliff was recently recognized by the American Canoe Association (ACA) which presented him with the Legends of Paddling Award and inducted him into the ACA Hall of Fame.

Good

This book is good source to go "beyond the basics" after you've done some canoeing. Well written, it includes a bit of humor and drama, as well. Recommended.

My wife gave this to me back in 1998 when I was planning grand expeditions. Now that I have my own muscle-powered boat, I have dusted it off again and still find it fresh and up to date. Begins with the basics and progresses through expedition techniques that only experts know-and which you won't find in other books."
