Davy’s auspicious beginning in Taiwan was anything but commonplace. An almost stillborn baby that revived at the moment of incision, Davy entered the world as a miracle. However, when he started school the competitive education system ruled out his ability to draw as a legitimate skill. Academically, he was an under-achiever. As young boy that was consumed by the darkness of low self-esteem, Davy Liu immigrated to the U.S. when he was only thirteen.
However, his talent for drawing was discovered by a teacher that subsequently catapulted him to international fame in Hollywood. Instead of making straight A's, Davy excelled in drawing straight lines. His artistic talent quickly led him to work for Walt Disney Feature Animation on classic films such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Mulan.
While working for George Lucas on the Star Wars franchise, he observed that his life and security was identified by his work and income. Once again, he struggled to find a purpose to his life beyond a career. Facing the fear of being a nobody outside of Hollywood, he took the risk of leaving everything behind and started his own studio, Kendu Films, inspired by the “I Kendu it” attitude.
Davy is an innovative creator who brings stories of faith and hope to the world; a pioneer in using creative storytelling to inspire generations of families to come. While creating timeless story books known as the “Invisible Tails Series”, he has also been able to tell the story of his life journey as an inspiration to others. Davy Liu is the president of Kendu Films in Los Angeles as well as a motivational speaker around the globe.

When three small perch siblings - Sarai, Sesom, and RaaOn - are separated from their parents, they face danger at every turn. They safely reach the Turtle Pool only to face a tricky eel in a dark tunnel and, later, a pack of Great Whites at the Big Blue.
It's only by putting their trust in the Finmaker and calling on his help that they are rescued in the end by the actions of the Fire Fish.
Although children with a Christian background will easily recognize the parable of the story - the Finmaker as God, the Fire Fish as angels, and the deliverance in the Big Blue as the parting of the Red Sea - it's not necessary to enjoy this wonderful story.
And the story is wonderful - but it's not the best part. Davy Liu's full-color illustrations are amazing. Spectacular color, intriguing details, and wondrous visuals make FIRE FISH come to life and only add strength to the message of the story.
This is the perfect book for a bedtime story, for a lesson on putting your faith in God's hands, or just as a reassurance to any young child that someone is always there, watching over them to keep them safe.
