A new second chance romance from Fabiola Francisco

The life I’m living was supposed to be ours, not just mine, and without her it means nothing.

I couldn’t climb on stage and sing to a crowd, knowing the one person my songs were meant for was miles away from me. Writing songs about her is the best I can do until she comes back because I know we’re not over. We’re just on pause, like your favorite song when you need a moment to take it in. But as soon as I find her, I’m pressing play on our love story.

Fabiola Francisico has penned yet another beautifully heartfelt, fiesty and sexy read. Memories of Us is an epic second-chance romance with all the feels!!!

The dynamic between Hunter and MacKenzie is brutally angsty. This book is utterly addictive and has some painfully heartbreaking moments for both characters that make you want to reach through the pages and hug them.

I have enjoyed my time with the Rebel Desire crew and getting Hunter's story was a total gift.

Memories of Us is that one country song that lives and breathes in your heart and mind forever. You'll never forget this touching story.

Here is another heartfelt, sweet, caring, angsty second chance love story from the fabulous Fabiola Francisco. Hunter is a songwriter that has a past which haunts him. Mackenzie is that lost love and this is their journey to fixing miscommunications, fixing hearts, and learning to forgive. I did think that there were moments that moved slowly but overall I was completely drawn into this story and their journey.

This specific video review will be included in the July 2018 wrap-up.

There are some books that you start reading and you think “yeah, I want to know what happens next.’ And then there are books that you start and think ‘I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.’
This is that book. I was invested in this book on page one.

Y’all. I kid you not when I say that I didn’t go to sleep until 7 AM because I was reading Memories of Us...
Between the hours of midnight and 7AM, I only did three things: read, listen to Drunk Me by Mitchell Tenpenny on repeat, and stare at the ceiling when I told myself to go to sleep (which didn’t happen so I went back to reading).

If you haven’t preordered this book yet, DO IT! I have literally felt every. single. emotion. I cried when they cried. I laughed when they laughed. I was in it with them. I was with these two mentally and emotionally from the start.
I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment so I’ve been going through books pretty quickly and in all honesty, I’ve read some AMAZING books lately but it’s been a little bit since I’ve felt so emotionally attached to a book and its characters. (I’ve had a few but not as many as I would’ve liked, you know?)

Y’all. This book. Gah! You need this book!
(You will also need chocolate, some tissues, extremely depressing country music, and your choice of alcohol.)

I don’t really want to say anything surrounding the story because I honestly don’t want to give even a word of this away prior to others reading. I think everyone just needs to get this book and devour it.
Word of advice: start reading in the morning and in private so you can read the whole thing. You won’t want to stop reading it once you pick it up!

I’ve been looking forward to Hunter’s book for awhile now and it was good. It’s a second chance romance which is one of my favorites. Hunter and Mackenzie were high school sweet hearts who had everything planned for their happily ever after. But things don’t always work out as planned. This story was sad to read at times because you could tell Hunter was hurting so bad with his actions.

Mackenzie can come off as standoffish but when you find out the reasoning it makes perfect sense. I just wanted to reach into my kindle and give her a hug. I loved both characters but at times they could be SO stubborn. Y’all are made for each other. Yes, things didn’t go the you planned it but that’s life. So stop delaying the inevitable and get it together!

Fabiola Francisco is an author who I recently discovered and I’ve grown to love her books so much. The writing was good, the story flowed and the drama wasn’t drawn out and over the top. We had some sweet, tender and angsty moments. Everything I love in a second chance romance.

With every book by Francisco I fall more and more in love with her stories. With each book I read my favorite couple changes. She has this unique way of writing that makes you feel exactly what each character is feeling. Memories of Us was amazing. This story had the right amount of angst, heartbreak, hope and love to make you root for Hunter and Kenzie.

Hunter--three years ago he messed up and it cost him the love of his life. Now, he's living his dream life but it means nothing without her.

Kenzie--three years ago her world turned upside down and it broke her heart. She ran because it felt like her only option but she masks her love for Hunter with anger.

Is three years too long to be apart or can they figure out a way to move forward together?

Memories of Us is officially my top favorite from Fabiola Francisco! I was quite skeptic going into this because the hero's name is Hunter and that's my sons name, and who wants to read a book where the character has the same their child? I worried needlessly because I was transported to a whole new world where my son didn't exist in my mind while I was between the pages.

Hunter and Kenzie's story was driven by emotional highs and lows, one minute this couple had me in tears and in the next I was swooning, because Hunter is what book boyfriends should be made of. These two have lived a lifetime together and apart that would break most people but Hunter stayed strong in his convictions of love, even when he knew that he was the reason for them being apart.

Memories of Us reminded me of Loving on You at times with it's angsty undercurrents, even though it wasn't an overall angst filled read. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with Cash and the rest of Rebel Desire for a while, I am completely caught up in this world! I hope to see more from serveral characters we have met in Memories of Us and All of You, namely Dex and Reese, but I would also like one from Kenzi's friend Chelle. Basically, I want to just live in these stories.

Memories of Us is a second chance romance filled with the makings of a a country song you will want to listen to on repeat. I couldn't get enough of Hunter and Mackenzie!

I got an ARC in exchange for a review. Which honestly was a mistake on the author’s part because I SUCK at reviewing.
Nevertheless, here I am. I just finished and I can say I’m pleased.
I loved Hunter. Loved his drive and determination to get what he loved. Loved his willingness to forgive himself.
Mackenzie and I could be friends. Although I’d get physical with the woman. But I loved how stubborn and strong she was.
The pacing of this was perfect. It didn’t go too fast or too slow. I reveled in the angst the main characters felt.
A great summer read!!!

Such a sweet hometown love. These two characters overcame so much heartache and grief from past actions.

Mackenzie seemed to harbor so much anger. She didn't want to forgive and had shut everyone out for the past 3 years.

Hunter had his own set of guilt and anger, but he knew one thing...he loved Mackenzie with all his heart. The only things to make it better was to find Mackenzie and get her back in his arms.

This story was a great read about forgiveness and following your dreams. Their journey wasn't easy, but with each other for support anything was possible.

There is something so great about reading a story in set in a small, county town. It makes me want to pack my bags and move! Memories of Us is definitely one of those stories. Added bonus, it’s a second chance romance! Checking off my favorite troupe!

This is a spin off of the Rebel Desire series, which I’ve been fortune enough to read the last one. It follows Hunter, an aspiring song writer. 3 years ago, after having a fight and evidently break up with Mackenzie, he moves to Nashville. He’s finally getting a shot after meeting and now working with Rebel Desire.

Mackenzie, hurt and angry after their break up, leave town-not telling anyone but her family where she is. As Hunter tries to track her down, she begins to build a new life her herself.

Such a great story. I loved Hunter and how he wasn’t shy or quiet about his feelings for Mackenzie. He was afraid to cry or show his emotions, and instead was an open book. He knew he messed up but never wavered on his love or devotion to Mackenzie. I especially loved the fact that he didn’t sleep his way through tons of women to forget her.

It was a nice refreshing story line. I’m really, really hoping that this story also sets Hunter’s friend and aspiring musician, Dex up for a story of his own, hopefully with Reese, whom we met in All of You.

There is no greater love story—nothing as a nostalgic nor as sweet—than a second-chance love story. Memories of Us by Fabiola Francisco calls to the heart, beckoning it, and flooding it with hope and happiness as former friends and lovers are reunited. A sweet and stirring second-chance romance, Memories of Usmade me melt into a puddle of goo as it smooshed my heart. I was SWEPT AWAY!

My heart is anchored to the first person I gave my soul to.

This story is well-written and honest told with a natural feel that sucks you in and keeps you wanting more. The hero is the sweetest musician you’ll ever meet, and I could not help but fall in love with Hunter from the very first page. I SWOONED so hard at his sweet and soulful words. MacKenzie is beautiful and bright, an independent woman who I admired. Hunter and MacKenzie are soulmates with an undeniable connection.

”I’m sorry.”

“Does it matter anymore?”

Memories of Us is more than a tender and touching second-chance romance. It’s a tale of first love. First heartbreak. First sorrow. It’s the story of love lost and love found. It illustrates a love that never dies. It’s about trusting the heart and love to lead the way. It’s about never giving up on love that’s always remained, one forged by fate and cemented by soulmates.

”Don’t you get it? You’re everything to me.”

With its Sweet Home Alabama vibe, Memories of Us is more sweetness than smolder and more calm than storm. This story is a slow burn that ignites the heart. Memories of Us hits the heart and sings to the soul like a love song. Sweet. Sensual. Soulful. This tender and touching tale is fused with fate and feels, captivating like a concert until the very last page.

”I promise you, this isn’t our end, this isn’t goodbye.”

Highschool sweethearts in small hometown America in a second chance romance.

Three years ago Hunter made a huge mistake when it came to Mackenzie and it's not a mistake she could easily get over. In fact, it tore them apart. But that doesn't mean that Hunter has given up hope because Kenzie is all he's ever wanted in life. So while he's moved to Nashville to live the dream he shared with her, it's not the same because she's not there with him. He doesn't even know where she's been living and it's tearing him apart.

I loved the devotion Hunter had for Kenzie and I think we all can say that he makes for a perfect book boyfriend because of his utter devotion. When it's so easy for an author to slip into the role of making an unlikeable heroine that can't move forward after heartache, Francisco didn't do that with Mackenzie, and I loved that about her. Watching her heal was a good journey because she didn't sit there and constantly hold the hurt against Hunter, they healed together. It was Hunter's mission to help her heal and for them to reconnect.

Memories of Us was an absolutely sweet and endearing book. The songs and lyrics that Hunter wrote were heartfelt and creative. I enjoyed that Francisco put so much effort into writing that she included that. I loved watching Hunter fight to get Mackenzie's love and trust back. Memories of Us was a perfect second chance romance.

I shared this thought on my FB as soon as I finished it, and I feel that it perfectly describes my feelings on this books... "Normally I’m a “Beast” type, but every once in a while I want a “White Knight”... and Hunter is the perfect country white knight in shinning amour. Twang and all. ❤️ Y’all, this girl can write a country love story to make anyone swoon!"

I stick by this completely! Second chance stories always make me anxious, cause I go in wondering "Will they overcome it?" "Can their love give them all that they need...?"... literally, like my heart races cause I know it's gonna break right along with the characters, and will the author be able to put my heart back together?! Fabiola did that and more, bringing Hunter and Mackenzie to be stronger after all the heartache. An added bonus is that my favorite characters from the Rebel Desire series, are along for the ride as well.

If you are looking for a story that will give you all the country love feels, this is for you. I'll be adding this beauty to my bookshelf as soon as I can, knowing that I'll be rereading it when ever that need strikes me.

My first book by Fabiola but definitely not my last!!

Right now, one of my favorite tropes is a second chance with the first love and Fabiola knocked this one right out of the park!!

High school sweethearts that had their whole future planned out, until one night. Words that can't be unsaid or unheard. Mackenzie fled and swore her family to secret about her location and has never returned home. Hunter packed up and left to live the life they dreamed of....a life that is empty and void of love. Hunter pines for Mackenzie and pours every ounce of emotion into his songwriting.

When the opportunity to show up at Mackenzie's doorstep presents itself.....Hunter flies across the country to do so. Can he convince Mackenzie to forgive him so they can have the future they always dreamed of or is too late??

I absolutely could not put this book down. I started it this morning at my sons’ swimming lessons and just finished now while they’re getting ready for bed.

I am a sucker for Kenzie and Hunter. Second-chance romances are my Achilles heel and Memories of Us is now top spot on that list. Reading about their past and how much Hunter fought to get their future back on track was addicting. I honestly could not get enough. Learning about their heartbreak and what ultimately broke them up was gut-wrenching. Even with the pain they felt, there still was low angst which I appreciated.

Another winner from Fabiola!! Loved it.

3.5* A Second chance romance, and another lovely read by Fabiola Francisco.

This is a story about two people who lost their way, but time and distance never diminished their feelings toward one another, whether they wanted to admit it or not. Hunter never truly gave up on Kenzie, and no matter how far away Kenzie was, or how hard she tried, she could never forget about her feelings toward Hunter completely.

It’s not an instant reunion, there’s build up and tension about lost love, mistakes and lessons learned. How sometimes life will lead you back to the one person who makes it all worth while, the one who brings back that spark to your eye and adds a spring to your step.

If you want to read about second chances, forgiveness and love, then I recommend this book.

This was the sweetest love story I've read in a long time. Hunter and Mackenzie have known each other since they were kids, but circumstances separated them. Their love for each other ran deep and I found myself routing for them. I loved Hunter's heart and how he wasn't afraid to show his emotions. This is a must read, pre-order now.

Country music romance fans, this is the book for you! This is the story of high school sweethearts Hunter & Mackenzie. They had plans to follow their dreams together. But one night of bad decisions tears them apart and they go their seperate ways. 3 years later Hunter comes home to see his family and to fix some relationships. The one relationship he can't seem to fix is with the love of his life that got away. He finally catches his break and finds her. And he saves her from a life that she didn't know she needed saving from. But forgiveness doesn't come easy. Mackenzie fights him all along the way. He hurt her heart bad and she isn't sure she can forgive him. Hunter isn't sure he can truly forgive himself. This is their journey. Him trying to win her back. Her trying to resist to protect her heart. This is a must read. You will fall in love with this couple quickly.
I just love Hunter. We start the book out with his point of view. And we do get Mackenzie's but I felt more connected to Hunter. And I was totally on his side the whole story. I felt his regret and pain strongly. Who hasn't made a mistake and said something in the heat of the moment they wish they could take back? But I did understand Mackenzie. It's hard when someone you trust with your hear fully breaks it. Heartbreak is a terrible pain and who wants to go through that again? These two characters struggle was so easy to get lost in. I found myself not able to put the book down until it was finished.
Another cool aspect was getting a look into the world of song writing. Hunter is a song writer for country music. His dream was to be a singer himself but he couldn't do it without Mackenzie. This story is full of lyrics that I wish were real songs!
Go read this book now. You will love it. I know I did!

Fabiola has done it again! This book was simple amazing! Hunter has made plenty of mistakes....losing Kenzie is by far his biggest one. Yes his life is going great writing songs for Rebel Hearts, but one thing is missing...Kenzie. He doesn’t know where she’s living, but he’s determined to find her. He is still in love with her. He will do anything to prove to her they’re meant to be together. Hunter and Kenzie’s story is full of angst and feels. It’s a roller coaster of emotions. This is second chance love at it’s best! You never forget your first love...this story will remind you of that.

Memories of Us was another emotionally charged, second chance at love story from the amazingly talented Fabiola Francisco that I couldn't put down to save my life. See Hunter made some big mistakes when he was younger that lost him the love of his life, Mackenzie, and he's never recovered from it. Even though he's writing songs, and getting more recognition, he still suffers a great deal alone. Finally, when he's his closest at accepting losing her, he's given an opportunity to face her, and see if there's anything he can do to fix everything. I swear that I'm getting emotional all over again while writing this review, as it was one of those stories that the pain seeped out of my kindle so I could physically feel it. Then there were times when I wanted to yell at Mackenzie for her push & pull, but Hunter never made excuses, just tried to make amends. So yeah, I was cheering for him the most, which is weird for me because I always choose the girls side. Anyway, there was a great cast of secondaries that added more depth to this already deep story, new ones, and ones from previous books. Some even added that whole comedic break that I needed from the angst levels. There were ever a few twists that had the colorful metaphors going, so this story ticked all of my boxes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ms. Francisco's heartfelt writing that always comes off realistically, so I cannot wait for her next book! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Only Fabiola Francisco can make a city girl like me fall for a country boy.
This time around, I fell hard for Hunter and his angst-filled passion for MacKenzie.
Despite country-rock-band success, Hunter's life if empty without Kenzie and he sets upon winning her back.
She's shut him out and he needs to find out why or he will be even further broken.
What ensues is a beautifully written love story that pulls on every emotion, full of poetic lyrics.
At the heart of it, I love the premise of this book: Can a couple get a second chance at building new memories?
5 country boy stars :) + cameos from Rebel Desire!

I read most of it but I didn't care anymore. They both were with other people while apart. So much for their undying love. Nope I won't rate because I didn't finish. I really am sorry I even read Any of it. Just depressing. This is why I never trust five star reviews. There was also a miscarriage too. Just fyi.

Ugh. This book just broke my 4-star reading streak.
No. I can't even with these heroines who end up with loser gaslighting boyfriends after the hero and h break up. She waited 3 years to move on and she moves on with an asshole who cheats on her within the first 6 months of their relationship? No. Ain't nobody got time...

5 Heart Wrenching, Cowboy Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

Are Memories of the love, Hunter and Mackenzie once shared, all that will remain? Or will they find it in their hearts to forgive and press play once more on their beautiful love story?

Memories of Us is a heart wrenching, beautiful story. Fabiola Francisco has written another wonderfully fascinating, romance story. She has taken two pleasures of life and put them together to create a master piece; writing and music. It’s a shame there isn’t a button on the kindle to press, to listen to the words written on the page as they are sung. However, with the way the scenes are written you can picture them and you have the beauty of giving those words a tune, that you choose and imagine yourself there in the moment sharing it with the characters.

I loved both Hunter and Mackenzie, they were both strong, caring, wonderful people who were meant to be together. They just had to find the strength to forgive, live and love once again, learning from their mistakes. It was clear Hunter regretted his actions, and Mackenzie realised she too was quick to avoid further conflict. However, given the nature of their dispute, I can understand both their reactions. Who truly knows how they would react, unless they are in that situation themselves, and emotions were high, had they been able to see through the fog, they may have seen that both were simply shocked by the revelation before them.

This story can be read as a standalone, so if you’re new to Fabiola Francisco this story is perfect to start your journey into her writing. If you have read Fabiola’s Rebel Desire series, you won’t want to miss this chance to have a glimpse at the band in this beautifully written, contemporary romance.

When you've already experienced the love of your life but let her slip through your fingers, what do you do? Do you fight for a second chance at love or do you throw the towel because she's moved on?

This was a beautiful, heartbreaking story of two people who fell hard and young but through pain and perseverance, fought their way back to each other. Hunter and Mackenzie's relationship fell apart when Hunter decided to chase his dream without including her in it. It was a mistake that broke Mackenzie, forcing her to leave the town they grew up in and ultimately, severing ties with most of the people she loved.

I felt for Hunter, and understood where he was coming from with the strained relationship between him and his dad, and also coming home to realize more than ever what a huge mistake he had made. Every push he made to rectify his mistake was not enough to break Mackenzie back into his arms. She was strong headed and stubborn and full of pride. I like a strong heroine and I'm glad she made him work for it without giving in so easily.

I enjoyed the lyrics written by Fabiola. It pulled your heart strings and made you feel so deeply for this story. Ugh.. it gave me ALL the feels! The emotions that pour out of the pages of this book just makes you want to see this play out in a movie. Fabiola did an amazing job of taking us through one of the best second chance books I've read in awhile.

If you want to read about love, lost, hope and redemption... this is a MUST!!

Memories of Us
By Fabiola Francisco

“I drink too much beer and call out her name in my dark apartment, sitting on the floor with my guitar lying next to me after writing a song about what could have been, what was, or what is.”

Love can brighten your life. But losing that love can make your world dark, and lonely.

“It’s hard to swallow that truth. It’s difficult to believe it when it felt so real, so consuming.  It was the only way I could ever move forward—convince myself that what we had in our young adult life would never survive the stress and changes of our adult lives.”

Hunter and Mackenzie had it all. Young love, hope and dreams. One night filled with harsh words and bad decisions took that away from them. Moving forward is one thing, but trying to rekindle what once was will be the challenge of a lifetime.

“We both have things to say and forgive, but my love for her runs deeper than the river we used to skip rocks on when we’d sit by that watermill for hours. And I know hers does, too, even if she says we weren’t meant to make it.”

Fabiola continues to amaze me. From the Rebel Desire series, to Memories of Us, her love stories are filled with so much heart and soul. Each of her characters are so easy to fall in love with, and Hunter and Mackenzie are no different. These two MC’s flow so well together, and fit together like a puzzle. From their love to their heartache, Fabiola leaves no emotional stone unturned in Memories of Us.

We've all been waiting for Hunter's story and Fabiola didn't disappoint!

Hunter and Kenzie share a romantic history of happiness and dreams that was torn apart by heart breaking circumstance. Both trying to move on but somehow still stuck in that one moment in time.
Hunter is a songwriter struggling to find his balance after he lost her. It isn't until Hunter returns home to face the damage that he decides to take action.

"Im stuck on rewind, staring at memories of us and the life we lost, wondering how I got this wrong"

But MacKenzie turns out not to be so easy to forgive and forget. Broken, Kenzie left without a word to pursue her career and attempt to form a new life. While she was able to escape, she is really only hiding from the one person who can put her back together. She needs Hunter to prove he is still the man she once loved. She needs him to help remind her they shared more memories than the one they thought was their demise. No matter how hard she fights, it is apparent where her love lies.
