After a long time I finally managed to finish this. This took me a while mostly because I had to read a non-English version while translating it to myself. As I've heard rave reviews about the TV adaptation I was quite excited for this too. Especially as the TV adaptation was helmed by Director BackAof who is known for the currently airing TV adaptation of 1000 stars which is personally among my top 3 Thai dramas. Unfortunately the book held a lot of plot holes. Yes the author tried to explain them but most of her explanation were along the lines that it couldn't be explained as it was connected to spirits which is quite ironical. If the author wanted the story to be balanced, she could have easily laid down some ground work that would allow the story to flow properly but rather due to the sloppy background information the whole story was kind of all over the place. None of the characters held any charming points and at times I was thinking why this story was this famous even. The climax was (not surprisingly) anti-climatic and the ending was not the least realistic. Even though it was mentioned many times by Mes that he himself did not know how long they will have together and they will only cherish the moment I felt there were many things just left unsolved. Maybe this is due to the strong background I have been taught in accordance to my religion which in a way is connected to Thailand too and I was always comparing that with the utter ridiculous explanation and plots in this book. Nonetheless I finally managed to finish it. As it is I managed to cut off another one is my 'Currently Reading' list and finally can move on to others. I was so frustrated at times with this book that I do not even want to spend more time writing a better articulated review.
This story has a very unique plot, but I felt a bit bored when I read it. (Sorry T_T)
However, I have to confess that I appreciate the adapted version of the tv series more than the original one of the book. Thus, if you wonder how good it is, you had better watch it by yourself. With lots of touching and memorable scenes, (for me) it might be considered as one of the best Thai BL series of all time.
