Stabbed in Shoreditch

Cassie Coburn Mystery #5

by Samantha Silver

Cassie's living life on the edge of a knife...When Violet is hired to prove the innocence of a convicted murderer, Cassie discovers that not only is an innocent man's life at stake, but also that solving a ten-month-old murder has its own unique challenges. But what initially seems like it might be a straightforward case quickly becomes more complex with the discovery of a secret computer file, and an encryption even Violet can't crack.Meanwhile, Cassie finds herself helping Brianne discover who's been stealing supplies from the hospital - a great distraction as Cassie avoids making a decision about going back to medical school. As Violet and Cassie get closer to cracking the encryption, they find themselves embroiled in the middle of a conspiracy even Violet couldn't have predicted. Will they be able to solve the case and give an innocent man his life back before they become the next victims? The Cassie Coburn mysteries are a cozy mystery series featuring a Sherlock-holmes style sleuth. If you want a light, fun, modern mystery featuring a San Francisco girl totally out of her element in London, and a crazy French woman who happens to be very good at noticing things, then this is the series for you.

This is a good one that involved, animals from a zoo, steroid doping of English soccer players who are on a winning team, drug companies get permission to sell and distribute a new product, and fining who really killed a young woman- and getting the wrong man out of jail. I found it very quick reading as the plot is again exciting- Cassie and Violet and friend(s) are in danger and work toward solving the mystery of a missing animal, who really killed the young woman, who is doping the athletes, who of the witnesses involved with the young woman's life are telling the truth. I really like this series of the very smart and clue-solving Violet and the almost a doctor, Cassie, tackling new and fascinating problems, and developing a working relationship to solve problems.

Fun Cozy Mystery Series

I absolutely love this series! It's just a fun modern cozy mystery that is very much like a remake of Sherlock Holmes and Watson but with female characters. Each of these books have enough twists and turns to keep them interesting and then the characters are so we'll done that you really find yourself wrapped up in the stories. The narrator does a fantastic job with each of the voices, accents, and overall acting-- she's one of those narrators that I can listen to again and again because she just that fun. These books are geared for the young adult audience but are clean enough for middle school and up readers- in fact I have been listening with my 13 year old daughter and she loves them too.

I like this series, but didn’t love this book. The mystery was even easier than normal to predict and even the side mystery was easily solved. Plus there was zero mention of Cassie’s boyfriend whatsoever despite her being upset with him in the previous book for his being busy at work and his failing to call her. C-

Entertaining series

This is an entertaining series. There's lots of humour and no cussing, sex and only mild violence. Free with Kindle Unlimited. And best of all, there's 10 plus books in the series so far. Good mysteries and you get to see the characters grow and evolve. Definitely worth reading.

violet and Cassie are back for more adventure

And violet only poisons Cassie twice in this escapade! I must admit, I love these books. They are a bit like eating m & m’s. You can’t get enough. Throw in a few meerkats and a raccoon and the chase is afoot
