Jager Hannover, a former SEAL, has recovered from the damage done when his squad's truck drove over an antitank landmine more than two years ago. Six other team-mates were also badly injured, the seventh--Mouse--dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap. On the hunt for answers about Mouse's history and the one who set up the trap, Jager ends up in Vail, Colorado.

He followed Mouse's best friend here only to discover he's already disappeared, leaving a trail of death in his wake. Getting himself to this particular place wasn't easy as it's also where his parents died in a tragic accident. While on a cross-country road trip, their motorhome went off a corner of the mountain and plunged them to their deaths. Considering the information he's found thus far, he fears this was no accident.

Allison Monroe is a police officer in Vail, Colorado. Her husband, who was also a cop, died a couple years ago in a skiing accident. Staying in the place where her dreams were shattered has given her time to sort out her grief and evaluate the direction she wants to go with her life. Getting caught up in Jager's investigation of someone she knows only as a party animal and womanizer isn't what she intended, but the attraction between the two of them is instant and undeniable. Passion turns to deadly purpose in a race against time when they follow a killer to Santa Fe, where he's hunting badgers…

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Jager is an almighty exhilarating, action-packed romantic suspense with some stupendous characters and a kick-butt plot! Dale Mayer did us readers right with Jager. The story was suspenseful and romantic with just enough edge to keep me on my toes. It flowed perfectly and had a good pace.

The moment I dove into this book I was transported on a very thrilling adventure. One with some sizzle, some danger, and a bit of mystery. Its one adventure I wouldn't mind taking again and again.

Jager gets a EXCITING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

This was an outstanding book. Dale did a fantastic job of writting this. I've followed along with each seal and his trials and struggles. Jagger goes to Vail to see the accident site where his parents died. He meets Allison who is a cop. Together they piece together the answers. There is a lot of action and surprises in the end. I recommend this book to everyone.

Jager Hannover is about to take on the last leg of the journey to find out who has been behind the maximum pain to his former SEAL unit and their families. He follows a lead to Vail, Co and while there he meets Allison Monroe who is a windowed police officer.

They work together to pull threads for find links to Mouse's missing friend who may hold the keys to unlocking all of the answers. While in Vail Jager stops at the place of his parents "accident" and he is moved, it's a very heart wrenching scene. It's just one more reminder of how much this person has brought pain into the lives of these men who survived a horrific land mind accident. All of them damaged, Jager included.

He is mysterious and pulls no punches. Allison is strong and capable of handling herself even when her commander is being as ass of magnanimous proportions. She impresses Jager and she begins to see threads where the others had not. She is very instrumental in brining things to a head and very much wants to bring this guy down much to Jager's horror.

This story had a lot of twists and turns and an ending that I didn't see coming. I was stunned at how evil one person could be. Evil has a new name and when the truth finally comes out it shakes everyone to the core.

I am sad to see this series end. I mean I know there is one more novella but it's the end. I hope to see these characters pop up from time to time or at least be mentioned in her other series as Mason, Ice, Stone, and Levi have been mentioned from time to time throughout the series. I really like how they characters crossover from time to time. It's like getting to see old friends again.

This book was a heck of an ending to a series that was full of mystery, pain, espionage, violence, healing, forgiveness, acceptance, moving on and well love. Love comes in many forms and this series has shown what love can do but it also show the darker side of love, the side that can be evil and ugly.

Ms. Mayer's characters are strong alpha males with missing organs and body parts who are no less the brave men they were before the IED went off. They are in need of strong women to love them and they each found them. The characters are believable and likable. This series picked up where each book left off and well I have to admit that I didn't realize only six weeks had passed or there about between the books. The conclusion was mind blowing and that the mastermind behind this was so evil, so in a way misunderstood. I found myself torn between hating this person and feeling sorry for him or her. What a conclusion to an action packed series with more twists and turns than Lombard St. in San Francisco.

The time for reckoning is upon the Seals of Steel…

The Seals of Steel series had captured my reading heart from it’s very beginning with BADGER - Bk 1. We come full circle with the OMG, explosive, epic conclusion ton what has been such an incredibly, phenomenal series. The numerous questions and theories that have been floated, leads that lead to further surmising for the team and their partners… now bring astounding and heartbreaking answers.

Jager is the last of the team to search for some personal closure into his parents tragic deaths along with a clue to the teams own horrific landmine tragedy. With the help of a local law enforcement officer, Allison, what unravels is unexpected, yet solves a more personal situation for this dynamic lady. Allison is a wonderful blend of logical intelligence, controlled strength, and vulnerability. While she has her own personal demons to contend with, she is not afraid to ask the tough questions to get things sorted, even if it can land her in a world of trouble. Jager is a witness to she faces and he is not one to let an injustice pass. Both characters are well matched and played of each other beautifully. Their attraction sizzles…

Oh WOW!! The time for reckoning is upon them. Their nightmare of pain, not only the landmine tragedy but since this investigation started is now! The answers are revealed… you are going to be on the edge captivated from the start to it’s heart wrenching end.

Dale has had you enthralled throughout this series with it’s page turning twists and seemingly dead ends. It’s been one suspenseful twist and intriguing ride along the way. You definitely want to read to find out all of the answers.

This is part of an overall series and to fully appreciate the Seals of Steel, you need to start at the very beginning. It’s for those that love to solve a good mystery, those that love our military based hero’s and the women who command their attention - those very same ladies they will protect with their very life. You thought that this was the end… oh no, Dale gifts you another book to thoroughly wrap up this entire series - I wonder what is coming next… I can’t wait to read what Dale Mayer has in store for readers.

This is the seventh book of the series. However, you will understand more if you’ve read earlier books of this series and the other two series by the author before you read this one.

If you want to read what the book is about, read above the reviews.

Our hero in this one is a man who was a soldier and is now medically discharged. His whole team of SEALs hit an IED. He lost one teammate and all the others were injured in some way. They’ve lost limbs, internal parts and most important confidence.

Our heroine is a dedicated cop and has had a tough time of it lately. However, she’s also getting frustrated when her superior officer won’t listen to her and things being done are not done right. When she starts to question things, she started to get frozen out by everyone. On top of this, she gets a family member of an accident which happened in the last few years. There are more questions there too, and she needs to help him get those answers.

Our hero has followed one of the clues his other teammate was able to gather, which is from the last book, and follows the person to a tiny town where they are hoping for more answers to their questions and finding out this friend has had some “fun” of his own and left others dead including family members of his and his teammates. Then he comes across our heroine and together they set out to answer some questions for them both.

The plot still sucks you in once again and you keep reading because you want to know where the story is going and get some answers for them both. You can see things aren’t exactly lining up, but you keep reading because you know eventually they will get there. The story does seem to lag. However, once you get to the ending, it’s one of those types of endings where you have most of the answers but not all. I know I was confused as to what exactly they had found out about the overall questions at the end with the hero. I had to read this a few times which is disappointing.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series which will be the last book in the series.

The new book in the Seals of Steel series is another highly emotional, gripping adventure for the team of former SEALs. The mystery surrounding the accident in which the seven friends were injured is coming to a closure. The pace of the story accelerates, reflecting the increased tension and the impending danger that the group is facing. The book begins with a new lead that sends Jager to Colorado, where he doesn’t find the answers he expected but rather meets Allison, the female protagonist, a vivid, captivating character and a great addition to the group. Allison, a widowed cop, is smart, strong minded and brave. She immediately becomes a full-fledged member of the team, traveling back to Santa Fe for the dramatic finale.
The mystery is finally solved, probably not with the most unexpected outcome. For the SEALs of Steel, however, what counts is the journey, not the destination. This has been a series of highly emotional books, a tribute to those who fight for their country and suffer whilst providing a ray of hope for the ones that are injured, physically or psychologically. Each of the strong and resilient protagonists prove, throughout each episode, that recovery is indeed possible.
This is why, I suspect, this is not the last book we will see in this saga. While making peace with the past has been the driving force for the group to come back together, what is most important now is to rebuild a successful and fulfilling life for each one of them as they move forwards.
This is when the really unexpected development comes along: the strong, generous and very determined female companions of the former SEALs take the lead, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what comes next!

Wow, just WOW! This book, had me gasping in disbelief as this series unwinds its final episode.
The book opens with the entire crew discussing where to go next and who should go. There's also a little surprise in there for Geir.

Jager doesn't give the guys a chance to pair him up, he leaves Badger's home, grabs his go bag and books a flight to Vail. His goal find this latest connection to Mouse and see if he's the answer they've been looking for. In the process he pisses everyone off, because they are a team and they didn't want him going without backup.

He does find backup in an unusual way once he's there, as he questions various hotel workers about Freddie Brown. Freddie is supposedly a good friend of Mouse and works at one of the hotels in Vail. He also wants the opportunity to find out more about his parent's motorhome accident that happened right outside town.

Allison Monroe is contacted by one of her friends after Jager was there questioning her. The evasive way the questions were asked raised flags and since Allison is a police officer, she would be the best person to approach the stranger in town.

Jager is confronted by Allison and essentially gets his backup and also answers about his parents accident.

Jager pays a visit to Freddie's roommates and gets far more than he expected. Leading him to the conclusion that everything would come to a head in Santa Fe.

So much insight from Allison, I loved the way she thought out of the box. I loved all the interactions with the team, this book totally took me off guard as I realized I too had missed the clues.

Hold your breath moments, laughter, tears and some sizzle. Don't miss this stunning conclusion to SEALs of Steel!

I can't wait to see what's next for Dale Mayer, she hasn't disappointed me yet!

Jager Hannover is a former SEAL who has finally recovered after his squad's truck drove over an antitank landmine several years ago leaving them all badly injured apart from Mouse who was killed. The group is chasing up clues to find out why only their truck was directed over that route and he ends up in Vail in Colorado trying to see Mouse's best friend. However he seems to have left the area leaving a trail of death behind including that of Jager's parents who was run off the road there. Widow and Police Officer Allison Monroe has not managed to move from the location after her fellow cop and husband died doesn't intend to get involved with Jager as she helps him with the murder of his parents and the missing guy who was Mouse's best friend but she finds the attraction between them impossible to deny. Then when they get a tip off that the missing man has travelled to Santa Fe to hunt badgers it becomes a mad dash to get there to seek answers and protect the other members of the until which includes Team Leader Badger.

This 7th book in the series was full of mystery, drama, excitement and some very passionate moments too. So many threads were pulled together as part of this story which also managed to include the meeting and developing relationship between Jager and Allison. It became addictive as the story unfolded and I was definitely reading faster and faster and I really needed to know what was going to happen next. Well written and very clear and easy to understand it was a great read. It helps if you have read other books in the story but I think you could get away with reading it stand alone.

So Good!

This entire series has been top notch and Jager’s story measures right up there at the top! This story is full of action and excitement and the mystery continues in discovering who Mouse really was. Pivotal questions are being answered and more are surfacing with the remaining seven men from the eight man unit who have suffered immeasurably with life altering, debilitating injuries and also devastating personal losses.

This story just clicks. Each member has an important piece of the larger puzzle. Jager’s piece fits perfectly into place. I love Jager’s independence and determination to hunt down every lead including the details of his parents’ deaths. I also enjoy Allison’s bravery and diligence when it comes to dealing with her bully of a boss. These two characters are perfect for each other. The entire team and their significant others are a very close-knit family willing to do whatever it takes to keep each other safe.

I enjoy this storyline and it’s ability not only to keep me interested but to keep me captivated and eager for the next page. It’s consistency and intensity feeds your thirst for more while giving you tidbits of the secrets that are being uncovered with the answers these me are starving for.

I am anxious for the final book in this fantastic series, it will be epic! I loved it!

What a conclusion to the mystery as to who is hunting the SEAL's of Steel and their families...and what conclusion indeed. The best one yet and saving Jager's story, the last one in the 7 SEAL brothers that survived the blast. He's following up on another lead and ends up meeting Allison, a take no holds barred woman and a police officer, who ends up helping him find a missing person. Jager ends up helping her to deal with her Commander and helps her move on from the death of her husband who died years ago. As the race to find all the answers and put the puzzle together, they end up back at Badger's place with all of them and their partners together at once...but will the mystery man strike now when they are altogether ?
An AMAZING conclusion that answers all the questions in the previous books and has me hoping for a new series to start to see all these men and women in action again. I LOVED Jager and especially Allison, a woman who takes charge and goes for what she wants. These two were so at ease with each other, the sparks flying between them and the steam...oh my. I LOVED the conclusion with the twist and I can't wait for more..especially to see what Kat has up her sleeve for Badger.

With all six of his cohorts in relationships, and the killer still at large, Jager has vowed to take the next step on his own. Poppy’s papers have revealed the name of Mouse's close friend Freddie, who is last known working in the hospitality industry in Vail, Colorado. Could he have had something to do with the “accident” that killed Jager’s parents? Another motivator for Jager to find Freddie, who has been missing from Vail for awhile, according to Vail PD Officer Allison Monroe, who was also the officer on the scene when the motorhome driven by Emelia and Jorgen Elstad went off a mountain road near the Vail ski resorts. Allison shows Jager the accident scene, and they find evidence that the PD’s presumption of cause was a driver’s heart attack was premature—black paint around a big dent in the bumper.
Together, and protecting each other’s back, Jager and Allison overcome resistance and unprofessional behavior by Allison’s commanding officer, as well as find the information they need to return to Santa Fe and save their team’s lives as the killer takes one last shot at inflicting maximum pain.

The answers are here, but they're not what you think!

As the seventh surviving SEAL finds his love match, the mystery surrounding the attack that injured them all comes to a conclusion. Jager, the last single man in the group, heads out on his own to follow a lead in Vail, where his parents were killed six months prior. Asking around about the man who may be at the center of the conspiracy, he draws the attention of Allison, a local police officer, who decides to help him track down his leads and gain some closure about his parents' death as well.

The action is intense and fast-paced in this book - the entire story unfolds over just a few days. But it's long enough for romance to blossom, for answers to be found, and for a long-awaited confrontation to take place back in Santa Fe. The gang's all here for that final part, and everyone has a unique part to play in wrapping up the investigation. The book ends with a hint about the next book in the series, which is shaping up to be a very satisfying HEA epilogue for all.

This is a very detailed, very involved story that started with Badger's story, and while the romance is standalone, the investigation is not. I highly recommend that you read all the books in this series, in order. I plan to read through them again once the series is complete. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the seventh book in this series. However, more importantly, this book is the conclusion to the mystery of the eight members of a SEAL team who hit a landmine while on duty oversea. Seven of the men were seriously injured, and one man died. When the men discover that this “accident” was actually committed on purpose, they spend their lives trying to find out what happened and why.

Throughout this series, Ms. Mayer has taken us on a journey filled with surprises, intrigue, danger and adventure that includes a lot of obstacles and dead-ends.

However, Jager’s story is the book that finally reveals all of the answers! But first, the author includes a lot of obstacles and twists and turns in this book as she unveils all of the secrets. However, don’t worry - the ending will not disappoint anyone who has been glued to this story since the first book!

There is not much more I can say without giving away too man spoilers . So there is nothing more that I can say except to repeat the explanation I said when I finished the book. WOW!!

Jager by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Steel Series Book Seven
Jager Elstad is the last single man standing from his SEAL team. So he heads off to Colorado alone. His parents' had died there in an accident and he needed to find out if...like so many others connected to their team...it was truly an accident. Or murder.

Officer Allison Monroe had stayed in Vail, Colorado after her husband died. It just felt like if she left...she'd be leaving him behind. Now, she was questioning more as she fought being under the command of a man who would rather stand behind his wife-beating friend than his officers.

Jager and Allison didn't expect their lives to change so drastically. But, once they met, it set something into motion that just couldn't be stopped. Still, there was a killer out there and Badger's SEAL team and the women they loved wouldn't be safe until the killer was stopped. Wonderful series that was a complete romance in each book, but a mystery that was continued.

This was a great book. I loved the interaction between all the characters. I loved the action, the suspense, the romance! Everything from the previous books was tied up in this book. And, wow, there were some real surprises! Holy cow! The story was a roller-coaster ride! Reading this book had me on pins and needles wanting to read faster, but then again, wanting to slow down as I knew all the answers to all the questions we have had from the previous books in this series would be answered but didn't want this story-line to end!

Loved the way Dale wrote the series and brought all the people together to assist in finding out all the answers the guys had from the "accident" they were in while in the service. The story took you through the wringer, kept you on your toes and made you want more, more, more! Loved it! What an awesome book! What an awesome series. Look forward to the next book in the series!!!

The series SEALs of Steel is an original take on the SEAL romance. This series focuses on a SEAL team that was involved in accident which killed 1 and badly injured the other 7. The team doesn’t believe it was an accident and in each book the team gets closer to figuring out what really happened. In this book Jager volunteers to go on this mission alone, since he’s the only one left on the team that hasn’t found his partner. Jager meets Allison a local cop after someone reported his suspicious activities. When Jager explains why he’s there, Allison decides to help him. Jager’s fears are confirmed when he goes to the accident site and finds out that they were ran off the road. Working together they determine that the answer their looking for are back in Santa Fe and they need to get there to help protect the team. This is the final book and the answer to what happened has finally been revealed. Allison makes a great addition to the team helping the team formulate plans. I really enjoyed the series and look forward to the next series.

Wow! So the climax to this story is a real humdinger of a read, lots of questions some of which get figured out and others answered. The suspense and the threat builds towards the ending. I loved Allison, her reasoning and logical thinking really helps figure out and put the pieces together as well as help solve all that's been going on. Its hard to believe that all this actually only takes place over the course of 6 weeks of investigation, the men all have gone from being a bit broken and defeated into the strong honorable men they were before there injuries, to top that off they all found equally strong women who are willing to put the men first and to love unconditionally. Just one more book to come in this series and I cant wait to see what they are all going to move onto and into. I am however pleased that I got my suspicion confirmed, though there may be a bit more to it than I figured. Great read and this is one Military series you don't want to miss.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Can I just say WOW as to the culprit? This series has led us on a chase around the world in search of who was responsible for the killing of one SEAL and wounding 7 others in a land mine explosion. While each book has answered some questions, but raised many more. Also within each book, a SEAL was also able to find his HEA. This book was the culmination of the search.

I just loved this book. Jager was able to find his lady love in Allison (a Vail, Colorado police officer). I can't wait for the eight installment of this series. I truly hope that the series continue with more SEALs coming on board like Allison suggested to them (similar to the other series from this author). I would hate to not read about some of these characters.

I HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone. You really need to start at the beginning with Badger to get the most out of this series.

A satisfying conclusion to a long story. So, as this series was different then her other series where the story arc continue from book to book, the mystery only got solved and concluded in this (almost) last book. Mystery story wise, this was the final one. Yet there will be a book that I think would be like an extended epilogue about the people. At least that’s what the blurb lead me to assume.

In Jager, we got the conclusion plus the story of Jager and Allison. I loved Allison. And I loved how for once the female character need to move on from a healthy and loving relationship that ended due to death. I don’t know if any ever noticed, but in lots of stories, the heroine usually had bad past relationship before meeting the hero so the hero became a saviour. Not the case in here, which was very refreshing and empowering in a way.

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher through Booksprout, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

Jager

This is a fitting conclusion to the SEALs of Steel series with the last man on the unit, Jager, finding the love of his life, Allison. She is a police officer on the force in Vail where his parents had died in a deadly motor home accident. He had gone there to investigate the final piece of the puzzle of Mouse's true identity and to look into his parents death. Allison had been putting the pieces of her life back together for two years with the death of her husband from a skiing accident, when she helps Jager. It is an action packed suspenseful story as Jager and his SEAL team work together to stop the killers that have hurt and killed some of their families and maimed them all. It is surprising to find out who was behind everything in the end and the SEAL team family get to move forward with their lives after overcoming some many physical obstacles and permanently ending the threat to their lives. It was an amazing series and fabulous that they all found the love of their lives and get their happily ever after in the next novella that ends the series. I cannot wait to read that book and I highly recommend this whole series.

(4.5) A satisfying "conclusion" to the Seals of Steel. I will say my thought of who was behind it proved to be correct, but I wasn't disappointed because I could not figure out "how" . Suffice to say this book shows us the few disappointing human beings and the above and beyond human beings. I love that they were all together again as Jager made his own trek in the series. Allison was kick ass, smart and just perfect with Jager. She did some kick ass and thought outside the box.
Some of the outside of the box thinking our mighty seals should have thought of, but hey, story line. I can highly recommend this series to anyone who loves the deployed, the veteran, strong women and hot sex wrapped up with suspense and some mystery. Thank you Dale Mayer and Booksprout for the arc. All thoughts an opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

This is the 7th book in the SEALs of Steel series, they have to be read in order or you won't follow the story behind why the 7 remaining guys go on the quest to find out about Mouse, their buddy that died in the explosion that injured them all.
In this book, we follow Jager as he heads to Vail, to find another clue in the mystery and to look into the death of his parents, he meets police officer, Allison and they make a great team, she is getting with her life after her husband passed a couple of years previously, now thrust into the mystery with Jager, she works with him and the team to help sovle the drama and murders.

Wonderful story, the stories within the story were great, it's a well-written well thought out plots, great characters. Loved it. I can't wait for the last book to see what Kat has up her sleeve.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Jager is trying to find more answers on who tried to blow up their team. Not just who but why and why are they killing their family members as well. Not only have they found clues and dug up more information on the person hurting them and trying to wipe out the entire team and all their family members, they found their future partner as well. Now Jager is out digging up clues When his questions alarm a clerk and friend of the person of interest that the clues are saying knows what is going on. She calls her friend Allison who is a police officer on the Vail PD. The more the team finds out the closer they get to finding out who did this and why. I will not give spoilers, this book like the rest in this series is great.

What an exciting book this was but the ending was not what I had expected. The mystery is finally solved and Jager has found a perfect partner in Allison.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The characters from past books were still there in force and each one knows how the other thinks. All the Seals of Steel are ready to meet again in Valhalla if necessary but know that this must end now!
Allison and her brother were added as characters and seemed to fit perfectly.

This ending had a dark side revealed that none of us would have thought at least not me. I mean it was way over on the dark side. Kudos to Dale Mayer for delving into this mystery.

Allison is a cop in Vale, Co. with an attitude that can handle Jager and then some. She is just what he needed in his life and he is perfect for her since she lost her husband 2 years earlier in a ski accident.

When Jager heads off to Vail, Colorado to investigate a lead about their deceased team member Mouse as well as the death of his parents he causes discord within the team as he leaves without waiting for anyone to go with him. While questioning people in town he catches the attention of one of the police officers, Allison and she wants to help him find the truth.

Allison lost her husband in an accident and hasn’t fully healed from the loss. She is honest and determined to protect those she serves and although she fights it she can’t deny her feelings for Jager. Their investigation leads them back to Santa Fe where we finally get the answers that we have been looking for.

This story takes us on a wild adventure filled with suspense, twists and romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.

Wow! This book was so riveting it kept me up all night turning pages.
Jager is following another lead, and meets Allison when he goes to Vail to follow up on that lead regarding a man that knew Mouse.
Everything is coming together now, and Jager is hoping they will finally get some answers about who was behind the Humvee accident.
.
Allison is a police officer in Vail, mourning the death of her husband who died in a skiing accident.
Together Jager and Allison work at figuring out just what happened in the accident that killed Mouse and injured his teammates, as well as solving the deaths of Jager's parents.

This was an amazing story, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!
