So a funny thing happened one day while perusing my favorite book lover's Facebook group. On Fridays, any member in the group can self promote by sharing links to their blogs, authors can advocate for their books, etc. I happened to share a couple of blog posts that week and Sarah Tyley commented saying that she really liked the style of the blog but wondered if I ever gave books 5 star reviews. Now let me start by saying, I'm somewhat of a tough critic. I generally need a book to really "wow" m ...more

I received an ARC of the book from Sarah after weighing in on her book blurb via Twitter and I’m SO GLAD I volunteered to take the few minutes to comment on her blurb and get to “meet” Sarah, and through her, Nell and Sid/Cyd.

This book truly defies classification. There are sci-fi elements, as it’s set in the future with all sorts of new technology and gadgets — some of it scares me, to be honest. I’ve read and blogged a bit about AI before – freaks me out. No doubt it takes a lot of creativity

*I received a free ARC of this book with thanks to Anne Cater of Random Things Blog Tours. The decision to review and my opinions are my own.*

Spaghetti Head feels like two novels cleverly woven into one.

On the one hand we have a dystopian sci-fi mystery, with the ‘System’, and possibly other political groups, clearly targeting Nell, our protagonist, and apparently determined to bring her into line. Set against a backdrop of a pending election and unrest between the human survivors and the robot

Spaghetti Head is an intriguing mixture of futuristic and post-apocalyptic fiction with an emphasis on mental health, human rights and the oppression of the human race, in particular when it comes to the reproduction process. Women and men who conceive are more valuable than those who can’t reproduce.

The story takes place a long time after a natural disaster almost completely eradicates the human race. Now the earth is run by computer programmes, although they have ‘supposedly’ been programmed b

In an uncertain world a twisting journey begins.

Mature themes and cursing are found in this book for those who dislike both.
I feel that the author has a strong writing voice and a well thought out writing style. If you enjoy occult classic scifi novels from authors like H.G. Wells and also enjoy reading romance novels this book is a must read!
We find the Main Character, Nell, facing an uncertain future. With her futuristic world in desperate need of children and her biological clock ticking th

This is a post-apocalyptic novel that reminds me of a cross between the movie AI and the Divergent series. There's love, confusion and corruption between the main characters, Nell and Ty and the System. Being able to dig deep into one's thoughts and view your memories how they happened, not how you remember them, is an intriguing concept. I'm hoping there's another book as I wanted more of a conclusion as to what happens to Nell and Ty and the elections.

I received a electronic copy of this novel

I am always intrigued when a book has a plot that, to me, would seem impossible to pull off. I think that sometimes dystopian/ Post-apocalyptic novels have no limits as to the events that occur, however, I still think it has to be believable. For me, this novel hit the nail on the head. Sure, it sounds bizarre, but to be honest, it was more exciting and interesting than anything else! How Tyley captured the overall atmosphere of a society in the midst of political war was admirable, as it is cle ...more

I grew up on a dairy farm in Somerset, surrounded by friesian cows.

I have always written - having kept a diary since I was thirteen. I have written poetry and short stories, and then moved on to a novel, which I have just published on Amazon.

I currently work in SW France where I have a small gardening business, I try to spend more time writing, and there is a herd of cows just down the road.
