I don't understand the 3.33 rating. I have never read a book about the broadcast of a sporting event before. I imagined it much less complicated than it is. I found Gary Bender's writing to be precise and very educational. We listed or watch sporting events and concentrate on the players, but somewhat ignore the play-by-play announcers. They are there, sometimes for decades, when you listen or watch college sports, or your local professional team: they work hard.
