I will love you till the cows come home from a trip to Mars through skies unknown, in a rocket ship made of glass and stone… I will love you till the cows come home.
Love knows no bounds in this tender tribute to the depths of family love. For fans of Guess How Much I Love You—only funnier!
This book extends the saying, “I’ll love you till the cows come home” to the humorous extreme. Along the way there are yaks in cadillacs, sheep setting sail, frogs on big-wheeled bikes, and more, in this great read-aloud.
I’ll Love You Till the Cows Come Home isfilled with warm, funny art and rhythmic, romping text, perfect for curling up with your little one at the end of the day...or anytime you want to express your love.
I absolutely ADORE this one! Perfect for any child who's ever asked, "Till the cows come home from WHERE?" Oh, how I wish I still had a small kiddo to read this book aloud to . . .
I picked up this book at the King's English, thinking it would be similar to Guess How Much I Love You and other such picture books, and I LOVE it so much more, even, than some of my favorite beautiful pictures books about love. A great book for Valentine's day, sure, but so delightful to read and look at that I think it should be read all the time!
Author Kathryn Cristaldi and illustrator Kristyna Litten pair up in this charming new reassurance tale, as the narrator assures the young reader/listener that they will love them "till the cows come home." Building on this idiomatic phrase, the narrator spins many fantastical examples of how long their love will last, relating in rhyming text the essential idea that it will be a long time...
I found I'll Love You Till the Cows Come Home an absolute delight! The rhyming text, with its creative scenarios - "I will love you till the yaks come back / from a jaunt downtown for a grassy snack / in a fire truck... / or a Cadillac. / I will love you till the yaks come back" - makes for an entertaining read-aloud, while the mixed media artwork captures the humor of the frenetic hi-jinks being described. Recommended to anyone in the market for new reassurance tales for the picture-book set.
I found this on the table in Barnes and Noble with the not-so-goodish seasonal Valentine books written by B-list celebrities. I was killing time and gave it a quick look. Then I bought two copies, one for us and one to send to a friend. But I really wanted to buy them all. I wanted to buy every copy and then stand on street corners and hand them out to people. Because everyone should have this book. And someone to read it to. And someone to read it to them.
"Till the cows come home" is my favorite idiom, and this adorable picture book did even more with it than I had hoped. The illustrations are gentle and beautiful, and the creative rhymes about animals charmed me all the way through. If I had a kid, I would definitely want this on their nursery bookshelf.
I’ll Love You Till the Cows Come Home stands out because it manages to be both playful and genuinely heartfelt without tipping into sentimentality. The escalating, imaginative comparisons give it a fun, rhythmic energy, but underneath all the silliness is a message that feels steady and sincere. It’s the rare picture book that balances humor and warmth so cleanly that it works just as well for a quick daytime read as it does for a quiet bedtime moment.
It’s one of those books that never wears out its welcome. The language flows easily, the repetition feels intentional rather than formulaic, and the illustrations match the tone with a mix of whimsy and softness. It’s comforting and expressive without being chaotic, a combination that’s surprisingly hard to find.
Overall, the book is imaginative, warm, and endlessly re‑readable; a standout in the “I love you” genre.

The illustrations in this book just kill me with how dear they are and it is such a sweet sentiment and yes, I was moved in a book store again, no one is surprised.
A whimsical rhyming poem equating loving someone until the cows come home EXCEPT! It continues by telling you what adventures they are coming back from, including a whole host of other animals on silly trips doing silly things, and concludes with all the animals coming home. Highly recommend. It’s an addicting joyful read with a lyrical cadence.
This book is super cute! Adorable illustrations accompany zany rhyming texts about animals with the reassurance that the reader will always be loved not only until the cows come home (we find out from where), but also until the "yaks come back from a jaunt downtown for a grassy snack" (they might be riding in a Cadillac). It's an endearing book about love that falls into that sweet spot between too sappy and too wacky.
I loved this silly book. It was so much better than all the serious “I love you more than…” books. My three year old wasn’t too enthralled but will I’ll probably try borrowing it again from the library. I bet in a different mood she would like it.
