An eighty-mile trek across the rugged, stunning beauty of Scotland’s Isle of Skye isn't something I imagined myself doing. Ever. This isn't a trail for beginners. And I'm not a hiker.

But I have to finish it, even if it kills me. I have no choice.

With the ever-changing weather and relentless terrain, I’m in over my head.

Rory Sutherland, my guide on this adventure, is not h

UNDER A STORM SWEPT SKY: Is a full length romance novel by NEW TO ME AUTHOR ‘Beth Anne Miller’ Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ In this we meet tour guide 'Rory' & novice hiker 'Amelia'

For one whole week Amelia will be taking on the Isle of Skye, a novice hiker with practically zilch hiking experience, doing this hike wasn't even on her radar, she hated hiking, it was

Some books just call out for you to read them and whilst Under a Storm-swept Sky had my attention at the blurb—I love me a brooding Scot—it was what lay beneath that I quickly found myself lost in.

Set amongst the stunning scenery of the Isle of Skye, Beth Anne Miller has created a touching, emotional story of love, self-discovery and forgiveness between two characters each harbouring their own personal pain. And as US t

The last couple of days I had the second reading slump of the year and believe me when I tell you that I really tried everything (except for rereading because I usually don't like that). Other genre, getting used to the idea of not reading anything for a few days and therefore not stressing myself, graphic novels, favourite genre etc. But it just didn't help. And then my eyes fell on this novel and I just tried again without expectations.

This book is about a hiking trip on the Isle of Skye and

My first read by Beth Anne Miller, can definitely be classed as a winner. Having traveled to Scotland a few times myself over the years I was interested to see how the author would handle the dialect, and the descriptions of the land itself.

What the hell was I doing here…

And I think that is part of the reason why I enjoyed the book so thoroughly, because she absolutely nailed it. Rory as a Scot came across as such, but the

I couldn't bear the thought of being with her and then letting her go.
Lots to like about this one!

Amelia arrives in Scotland from New York to do an arduous, week-long trek across the Isle of Skye. Rory, one of the guides for her group, is a quiet and broody type who seems to take an instant dislike to her.

Sparks fly, tension ensues - all against the dramatic backdrop of the isolated Scottish countryside.

I admit that it was the setting that sold me on this one . . . and i

I seem to be in the minority with this one, but I found Under a Storm-Swept Sky by Beth Anne Miller to be predictable and, frankly, boring.

I struggle a lot with contemporary romance, and books like this one are part of the reason why. It isn't that this was a bad book, but when the best part about the story is the setting, it is hard to get invested in the characters.

I found the female MC to be a bit TSTL. She gets in way over her head with a hike she is ill prepared for, and takes risks time

After reading and loving A Star to Steer Her By last year, I kept placeholder in my calendar for this book for months. I had been greatly anticipating this story and y'all? It might have actually exceeded my expectations.

Under a Storm Swept Sky is riveting.

It's one of those books that appears to have found the perfect formula: action, adventure, romance, drama all doled out in doses that kept me glued to my Kindle, heart held in thrall, mind racing to know what happens next. I was pulled in imme

Fantastical! I don't know where to start. The first thing I have to say is this is a must read. I loved it.
Absolutely hands down, loved it. This book doesn't miss a beat. From the very first page you'll be sucked right in and you won't want to put in down after it ends.

Amelia, travel weary flying to Skye to take the place of her best friend who couldn't make the trip so she's doing it in her place. She's exhausted, inexperienced and hates hiking. So why would she sign up for an 80 mile hike acro

First person, Dual-POV, HEA. Standalone.

This was such a SWEET love story. Bonus? It's set in Scotland, and I'm a sucker for a man with a Scottish brogue.

Rory and Amelia most definitely don't hit it off in the beginning. He's the tour guide leading her, along with a few other people, through the Isle of Sky trail. A daunting 7-day hike that Amelia is most definitely not equipped for. Hiking is her best friend's thing, not her's, but she's there in her place.

She'll finish, even if it kills her.
When I read the description, I had to check it out. Hike 80 miles, on purpose you say? Oh but wait, hike through Scotland with a grumpy hot guide? Sold! I don’t hike or do nature at all. The thought of doing everything in this book makes me want to spork both my eyes out, twice. The way everything was described though, I felt I was right there in Scotland hiking beside everyone else. Rory and Amelia started off rocky but along the way, they had to work together and help each other out more ways ...more

I adore a surly Scot, and Rory Sutherland ticked every last deliciously grumpy hero box. A wild, sexy, and yet deeply emotional adventure that has me packing my bags for the Isle of Skye. My favorite new adult read in years.

Warning: Reading this book will have you wanting to fly to Scotland immediately. I loved this book! The descriptions had me on every trail, under every sky, and feeling everything - it was breathtaking. But what I loved most was the beautiful relationship between Rory and Amelia. Their journey is emotional and romantic, and ultimately left me with the biggest smile on my face. Sweet, heartbreaking, adventurous, and sexy, this book has it all.

Amelia is heartbroken and guilt-ridden. Her best friend Carrie is in a coma because of an accident she caused. She wasn't paying attention well enough and their car crashed. Carrie was looking forward to an eighty-mile hike on the Isle of Skye and to do something meaningful for her friend, Amelia is going in her place. She will take plenty of photos and makes sure she talks to Carrie on videos and through phone calls, so her friend can experience a little of what the trails are like when she wak ...more
I loved this story! It is a beautifully touching story with so many layers to it, like a tasty treat you just don’t want to put down till it is finished.

It is an amazing story of Amelia’s attempt to fulfil the dream of her close friend and complete the eighty mile trek across the Isle of Skye. She’s never attempted anything like this before, in fact she’s always refused to join in such activities. As the reasons for her doing it this time are revealed, her determination and resolve to complete

I'll be honest with you, the cover is what first drew me in to Under a Storm-Swept Sky. But when I read the blurb, I thought it sounded like a great read. One about a land I'll likely never visit, but I could to escape into. It was that and more. The romance, the setting, the emotions all made it a fantastic book.

Amelia and Rory were amazing and, thanks to the dual narration, I got to spend time in both of the heads. It's so much easier to und

Another home run for Beth Miller!! A Star to Steer Her by was easily a favorite, and this was every bit as wonderful!

I loved the bickering between Rory and Amelia (they shall be Ramelia, said with a yummy Scottish accent!), and the sweetness and humor that Tommy added. It was really a great start to this story.

The trepidation that Amelia feels is evident and very relatable, especially in light of the circumstances that puts her on the Isle of Skye trip to begin with. But she is stubbornly indepe

Under A Storm-Swept Sky is a captivating story about a young woman who goes on a journey for her very best friend, even though it was a feat she never wanted to take on in the first place. I will admit it took me a few pages to really become interested in the story line, but once the angst kicked in I was hooked. I have laughed, and teared up while reading and I love that this author was able to pull those emotions out of me, showing their talent for writing! This is one of the best books I’ve r ...more

I bought it yesterday, and was too intrigued last night to start the other book I had planned. Then stayed up all night reading it. I couldn’t put it down. There was so much depth from both the MCs with the perfect amount of romance to balance it.

It was so refreshing to stumble upon this emotional and unique story. The blurb promised the book would be good and it didn't disappoint. What a lovely romance! So full of adventure, adorable and sometimes steamy romance. Set on paradisiac Scotland, we get to know Rory and Amelia. Both troubled by their own issues, the handsome grumpy guide and his stubborn amateur hiker discover along their journey that they have more in common that they can imagine. I'm not sure if I enjoyed this so much because 1. it's a good story; 2. I was in a reading slump and this was exactly the book I needed to read; or 3. it takes place on the Isle of Skye and I could picture in my head all the places mentioned in the book except for Rubha Hunish. Probably a combination of all three.

And now I'm homesick for Scotland and the Isle of Skye and want to hike the Skye Trail.

This was an emotional and brave tale about Amelia and Rory, who, are going through their own struggles while hiking 80 miles hike through the Isle of Skye. In all honesty, the real start of the story was the Isle of Skye. A beautiful place and the star of the book.

I love Scotland, I love Amelie and Rory, I love Tommy - and I love the Book :)
I immediately want so go to Scotland now - the description of the scenery is bloody perfect :)
Amelia is determined to go on the adventure her best friend was supposed to take, but she never imagined going on the eighty-mile trek across Scotland's Isle of Skye would be so gruelling, even if she does appreciate how stunningly beautiful the rugged terrain is. Even worse, it seems Rory Sutherland, the group's gorgeous guide isn't too happy with her. But when something happens and the pair are forced together to get through the rest of the trip, will they be able to work out their differences ...more

Thistle Trekking is awesome indeed! I did the West Highland Way with them last year and hopefully will be back next year.
The book was a mix between wonderfully emotional scenes which really captivated me and feelings of disappointment when the story turned way over the top cliché-y and thus 100% transparent as to the future plot and kind of comical.
The landscape descriptions were really good and I could really imagine being there.

Since I don't travel much I love reading books set in foreign locations. Therefore, as soon as I saw that Under a Storm-Swept Sky was set in Scotland, I added it to my TBR pile.

The result? Emotional as well as heartwarming, Under a Storm-Swept Sky offers much more than just a stunning, wanderlust-inducing setting. Beth Anne Miller brings out the emotions in full force here, as Rory and Amelia make peace with their pasts and look toward the future.

My favorite part about Under a Storm-Swept Sky?

OMG!!! Amazing read by Beth Anne Miller! All I can say is I have another favorite read of 2018 to add to my ever-growing list, but this is also an ALL TIME FAVORITE AS WELL!

Amelia and Rory should never have crossed paths. She is from New York and is a self-proclaimed beach girl and has been anticipating a move to Miami with her best friend, Carrie. Rory is a rugged, sometimes moody tour guide in Scotland. Both are completely opposite of one another, but when Amelia arrives in Scotland to take pa

This was my first book by Beth and not my usual type of read. I was very intrigued by the blurb, Scotland being a place I have visited a few times with my family, but never made it to the Isle of Skye, but after reading this I would love to visit!! I love travelogues and I love romance, so I was thrilled that this book rolls both of these genres into one powerful story! I kept thinking that the author had to have hiked the rocky, steep Skye Trail on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Ms. Miller does an extraordinary job of vividly describing it so that the reader can feel the cold wind blowing and rocks sliding under their feet as they hike along on the craggy inclines.

Amelia is not an experienced hiker and is petrified to try hiking the Skye
