Cade is the third episode of the Seals of Steel series. Though a stand alone book, the story is a follow up of the previous episodes, with welcome guest appearances of the protagonists of Dale Mayer’s other Seals series.
In this book, the mystery surrounding the war incident in which the team members were severely injured thickens and new, disturbing developments make the story a little darker, surely harsher, keeping the tension high at every page.
Additional members of the original team join th Cade is the third episode of the Seals of Steel series. Though a stand alone book, the story is a follow up of the previous episodes, with welcome guest appearances of the protagonists of Dale Mayer’s other Seals series.
In this book, the mystery surrounding the war incident in which the team members were severely injured thickens and new, disturbing developments make the story a little darker, surely harsher, keeping the tension high at every page.
Additional members of the original team join the investigative group, and, once again, the personalities and the interactions between the veterans become the highlight of the story.
Each individual has gone through a long and painful recovery process that has changed their original alpha male personalities. They are now more mature, more human, more conscious of how precious life, friendship, love and family are.
They are still extremely skilled and dangerous though, and their team effort to find what is behind the explosion that changed their lives adds life to an action packed, page turning, suspenseful plot.
The side story of Faith, the female protagonist, and of her friend Elisabeth, is sweet and emotional. Faith is strong, independent, resilient. She has a positive and rational approach to life. When difficulties arise, she refuses to give up, pushing back in a measured and levelled way. She is, needless to say, a perfect match for Cade.
The ending of the book, however, hints that even Elisabeth's story may not be fully concluded, and that new developments may be yet to come in the next instalments.
Cade, the protagonist, stands out for his inner strength, the maturity he shows when coping with his new condition and with the many tragedies in his life, the compassion and protective instincts towards every suffering person he has to interact with, his loyalty and true friendship towards the other members of the team.
Finally, Cade is a captivating, emotional and very entertaining book. It features plenty of interesting and skilfully depicted characters, the great team dynamics among them, a highly emotional content blended with fast paced action. Despite the heavy background theme, however, the book’s atmosphere, remains light hearted, with plenty of fun moments scattered along the narration. All of above make Cade a very pleasant, original story that would be a real shame to miss.

First, I need to state that this is not a standalone novel. The story arc continued from the first book, through the second one, and this book as the third picked up right after the last one end. It’s not possible to follow the story without reading the previous two. Furthermore, if you haven’t read SEALs of Honor and Heroes for Hire series, you’ll find yourself feeling a bit left behind as there were quite a lot of references to these series.

A man who's determined to find the answer and a sassy pilot who's coincidentally got mixed in this dangerous mess. Oh yessss love the story. The thrill, the action although not as much as the previous books, but the intensity is superb, when there's a big lead to the big mystery that's going through this series and everything became more dangerous, I can't put this book down, it keeps me on edge all the time. Wow, talk about intrigue! The underlying story, which began in book one, continues with a few twisted and heartbreaking surprises. Cade travels with Lazlo to Norway to check on his father who was involved in a hit and run. What they discover will open another can of worms in regard to their investigation. I cannot say it enough: I love this series! It has lots of absorbing non-stop action. I also love the relationships between the “SEALs of Steel.” They have a camaraderie and closeness that many military men have when they, closely, live together and work together. It is, especially, found during dangerous situations where a group of men must rely on each other for their safety.

This series has a storyline that runs through all of the books. Two years ago, eight SEALs were on a mission in Afghanistan. As they are travelling in a convoy, someone tells them that their group has been rerouted to a different route. While following their new orders, their truck hits a landmine. One man dies, and the other seven men are severely injured.

Since then, the surviving men, who have gone through the loss of limbs and many surgeries, come up with a new mission: find out who hates them enough to kill them, and, possibly, also, killing some of their relatives?

Also, there is always a secondary problem in each book. In this book, it involves Faith, who is a pilot for a major airline (I love that Ms. Mayer includes a heroine who works in a job where most of the employees are men). Faith has found out that her best friend, who lives in Norway, is in a coma after a serious automobile accident.

As Faith goes to Norway to visit her friend, her path intersects with Cade and his colleagues. Faith plans to sit at her friend’s side for a while, and the men are there to look into an accident involving the father of one of the SEALs.

As in all of the books, the smaller issue is solved before the last chapter. And, even though the romance takes a back seat to the action and adventure, Cade and Faith discover their love by the end of the book.

On the other hand, the continuing plot is not solved in this book. However, we do learn some good clues in each book. However, the author seems to joyfully put up roadblocks as we roam through her brilliant twists and turns that keep us on “pins and needles” throughout the book.

Also, I would like to give a big “thank you” to Dale Mayer for quickly releasing each new book. They are released so close together that, as soon as I finish one book, it seems as if the next book is waiting for me to read it.

The major plot line continues to carry through the books so far released, however, each book has it’s own sub-plot, that offers the characters more to contend with, or are these small developments just more layers to this overall plot?

Amongst the hatred and investigation of the main story line, a new friendship blooms unexpectedly for Cade. It was good to see this relationship build slowly from a chance encounter and helping another in a twist of fate in Norway. Though, Faith will have her own personal issues of worry and “hatred” to contend with, all the while, she becomes unwittingly a target in this dangerous investigation into the truths of what happened to Cade and his team in the anti tank land mine “accident”.

Dale delivers you a story filled with intrigue, dramatic suspense and action. A story that also deals with people who show compassion, kindness, care, being positive verses those that deal with life in a bitter, negative manner. Wonderful, intelligent, caring and compassionate characters that are reeling from horrific injuries, learning to deal with life and limitations as it now is yet never giving up and adapting. Determined to find answers and justice - to right the wrongs. Always giving and helping those that are in need of help. We are also introduced to another team member… I’m sure the danger and twists will continue to grow.

Dale continues this captivating series with yet another page-turning drama. Intrigue and action, twists and unexpected turns - with CADE. I highly recommend not only reading CADE, if you haven’t started, go back to the beginning and start reading the SEALS OF STEEL series . I will reiterate as usual it will assist you to read SEALs of Honor and Heroes for Hire books in order to fully understand all the characters & nuances. Cad’s SEAL team were all critically injured (loss of limbs, burns, lac’s, etc) & one man “Mouse” died. They’re investigating the incident as it appears someone in the military intentionally set up they’re team. This book begins where book 2 left off. The remaining team members (with the exception of Badger) have just returned to New Mexico after going to Afghanistan to review the accident site & question the locals for any witnesses.

Cade meets Faith when they meet at curbside at the airport & the team decides to share a cab with Faith. (A funny side note - I’m unsure how four really big guys, Faith & driver all fit into a cab...) 🙃

The team began discussing another team member (not with them) because his best friend had been killed by what had been assumed to be a random hit-and-run accident. They begin to question if the recent accidents involving there families & close friends were truly accidental.. Several members of the team fly to Norway because Lazlo’s father had been hit by a car while walking his dogs, but unlike the others he’d survived. End result was the team discovered that these were not accidents but intentional hits. There were side stories that almost caused confusion and I’m truly not sure in the end why they were included (my opinion only). I wasn’t really sold on the relationship between Cade & Faith. Truly it seemed to me Faith was not a necessary part of the story. Overall it’s was an entertaining read, but I felt it could use a little more tweaking. ...more

Cade and a couple of his buddies travel to Norway to check on fellow SEAL, Lazslow, whose family is not well and end up meeting sweet, beautiful, Faith, a commercial airline pilot.

What a wild ride this story has turned out to be! I just love the brotherhood and support Cade and the guys from his Unit have as well as the support received from other active and non-active military units. They are as close as any family can get and all have similar injuries and painful memories.

I love the empathy in this story. Faith’s best friend, Elizabeth, has suffered injuries in a horrible car accident and is in a drug induced coma so her body can hopefully heal, but her chances of survival are slim. Faith is constantly at Elizabeth’s bedside giving her encouragement to hang on.

This story has such sweet, touching moments. So many people who are suffering have a built in support group of their friends that understand their situation and their pain. It also slams you into a cold harsh reality of murder and unbelievable hate that people can feel towards one another. It’s hard and gritty in its intenseness when these men are looking for answers into the automobile related accidents that seem to be too coincidental as well as the circumstances surrounding the bombing. It also gives you hope that we all wish for someone to care enough to be at our side in support and sympathy when we would need it the most.

And there is the hot, sexy attraction between Cade and Faith that they don’t even try to deny. A fast paced, fantastic story that you can’t put down! I’m excited for book 04! Excellent job! I loved it! ...more

In the third book of the SEALs of Steel series we get Cade’s romance with Faith. Cade and Faith first meet when sharing a cab home from the airport, but then have a surprise meeting in Norway. Faith has gone to be with her girlfriend who is hospitalized, and the guys are there after finding out Lazlo's father was hit by a car.

This is the 3rd book in Dale Mayer's Seals of Steel. I will mention that in order to fully understand all that is happening in this book it's advisable that you first read her Seals of Honor series and books 1 and 2 in this series. This book centers on Cade and Faith.

I liked this book, but it wasn't my favorite book in the series. This book didn't have the action I expected and there were no situations where they needed to use their SEAL skills. There were still a lot to the book that I loved. I liked how character's from the other series made appearances in this book. You didn’t need to have read the previous series but if you did it was nice having them involved. I liked that this book delved more into the personal lives both physical and emotional aspects ...more

Ok don't start this book late at night like I did. Once you start this, you will not want to put this down. This book has a sub-plot that started with the first book Badger. Cade and Talon share a cab from the airport with Faith. She's a pilot who just missed grabbing the cab with her crew. There is really nothing more than a shared ride and some curiosity.

Badger has more issues and Kat declares he can't be on point for now. Much to his dismay, Erick becomes the main contact, so he's there for Honey as she supports Kat.

Cade has a prostheic hand, leg and foot but that doesn't stop him from continuing the mission to find out what happened to their team. He meets Faith by chance in a cab and now fate has brought them together in Norway. Faith for her best friend and Cade for Lazlo.

Faith is a wonderful character aptly named as she has more faith in Elizabeth's prognosis then her sister Mary. I have to admit I was wondering about Mary's attitude and it left me with more questions than answers.
