"Damn it. I want to save him from himself so bad it hurts."

Sydney Charell confuses the f*ck out of me.
She's a stripper, she likes eighties music, and she's the sister of Indecency's douche bag guitarist.
But I really f*cking like her. Love her. Maybe.
She shouldn't be wrapped up in our bullsh*t, our drama.
If I could, I'd send her away, protect her from all of this, but I can't. She's a target now, just like me. If we're going to get through this alive, we're going to have to do it together. Dead bodies, reality TV shows, and … a new tour. Bring it on.

& & &

Dax McCann is a dark drumming god.
Thing is, I don't date musicians. I don't really date at all.
But we've got chemistry for days. And I want to fall in love. Maybe.
He thinks too much, and he feels too hard, but he's got body and heart both, baby.
If I could, I'd walk away from all of this, focus on my career as a model and forget all about the man with the gray eyes and the penetrating stare. But I'm already screwed, blued, and tattooed. Might as well embrace those lemons and make some damn lemonade. Or little drummer-rocker babies. That works, too.

C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.

She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.

Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.

I love this series, and I loved Sydney and Dax. This one isn't as good as some of the others in the series, but it's still great and as always, leaves me wanting more.

I am obsessed with this series and this book was no exception. Loved Sydney and honestly fell in love with Dax in Heart Broke. What an amazingly conflicted and complex character who is also the most sensitive in the series. Doesn't sound like it would work, but it does so beautifully.

Since the series started, there have been so many twists and turns, some questions of which have been answered. However, as soon as one is resolved, one or more new issues pop up! I didn't think that Ms. Stunich would be able to keep going with this storyline, but she has and she has done it incredibly well. All that said, I would love to see some resolution soon. Eight books is a lot to keep your readers interested and wanting to come back for more. While I will read every book this author writes about these characters, I think it would be amazing to see some HEA(s) sometime soon!

Heart Broke ends on yet another cliffhanger, which Ms. Stunich is known for in this series. You've been warned!

Can't wait for Get Hitched!!!

It's been so long I forgot how the last book ended. I always find myself caught off guard when these books decide to throw the end at me. Every time I'm like WTF? I'm hoping for a follow up book way sooner than this last one.

Heart Broke felt a little bit like back to the roots. It seems the overall drive was back and I was more than happy to continue this series.

You see, I got addicted pretty fast to this group of people, got so attached to certain characters, that I had no choice but read all 9 books within two weeks 🙈 What a ride that was!

If you are up for a romantic suspense ride with s*x, dr*gs and rockstars, if you want as many lovable characters as there are those you'll hate, if you want emotionally raw characters with as much darkness as well as light, this series is definitely something you don't want to miss!

And yes, you need to read all of them, if you want all the answers. And you should definitely read them in order.... Within all the trouble that the two bands got dragged into, there are three couples that find their love and whose stories are told along the suspense plot.

Oh Dear. This is all too confusing for me now. One minute Brayden Riker is working for Amercia, then it turns out it was Paulette, next minute he is working for some third party. The reality show? I get where she tried to go, but it just did not work. What happened to the kids? Why don't they all just say screw it - lets go public about this mess, call in the FBI.
I loved the touring, drug use, dirty sex of the earlier books - rough, gritty, raw, and I still like the characters, but this book makes no sense. Ever since the whole Amercia/Hammergren/Travis stuff it has got too convoluted, and seems to double back, and go in new directions. Like Amercia not having a family because they were all murdered and, suddenly a sister crawls out of the woodwork.

I'll always love the first couple of books, but now I have kind of lost faith.

4 More Electrified Guitars for Heart Broke

There is never a dull moment in this series, whether it be sizzling between the sheets - or any available surface, come to think of it, there is rarely a bed involved - or hard rocking glory, or assorted murder and mayhem. This book focuses on the newest couple in the series, and though he has not been one of my favorite musicians in the series, she is absolutely adorable and I am finding myself liking them together. The life and death drama remains high, and I still have no idea who exactly are the good and bad guys, and am almost as exhausted as the characters of them being played as pawns in a game that doesn't seem to make much sense, but, as I mentioned, it is never dull.

I see that the next book was originally scheduled to be published in 2015 and I truly hope it is coming soon. I feel like I have shed almost as much blood, sweat, tears and other bodily fluids as the characters themselves and really, really want to know what happens next.

I will mention that I have noticed more and more editing errors as the series has gone on, but truly not enough to stop me from reading or even annoy me as much as such things often do.

I recommend this series (and it truly needs to be read in order) to those who have no objections to a sex, drugs and rock 'n roll lifestyle, and who can deal with deliciously foul language (and behavior) on nearly every page, with a fair share of violence as well.

I just love this series, it is like no other I have read. Drama, drama, drama. And a mystery that is fed to us in small pieces.

We had some big things happen in the last 2 books, lots of forward motion in this never ending game of chess that two very rich powerful families are playing with the bands. The bands just don't know 100% whats going on, who to trust, and how to stop it all. They are just the game pieces in the war.

And one by one the band members are falling in love. Dax has been labelled an "emo" by the others. But it's only because he feels to much, has had to much happen to him way before the band started. He thought he was in love with Naomi, but that was probably just lost infatuation. He doesn't know what real, all consuming love is until Sydney. They have a chemistry that is as hot and off the charts as Naomi and Turner. And sticking together is the only way they will survive one last tour. One Last Tour?

As always, Stunich has left off with a cliff hanger. I will admit that it wasn't such a cliff hanger that I wanted to throw the book, but she still left us with a whole host of questions and an overwhelming need to know what happens next. I think that is one of the things that I love most about this series. It keeps your attention book after book. Can't wait for the next one, just hope it's not as long as a wait as this one was......

This would unfortunately have to be my least favourite book of the series.

I like the Dax/Sydney perspective on things, Dax has been such a mysteriously dark character so it is great to know and understand more about how his mind works and why he is the way he is.

Unfortunately for me, what has let this book down is its predictability with the same drama we've done over and over before.

I mean why kill off one villain to have her replaced by a mirror of that original character? I understand that the threat is beyond just Stephen/Amanda, but it just felt a little had. It was much the same that we had already read in the previous 7 books but missing something gripping.

I'm a big fan of C.M Stunich and this series in general. I've loved the banter between the main characters and the suspense element that the previous novels had. It has been a page turner series for me that has kept me interested the whole way eagerly awaiting the next book. Unfortunately this one was just a bit boring in comparison and made me feel like hurry up and end already I want something new.

Hoping that book 9 redeems the series back to what made it great.

Holy shit, Heart Broke had been a looooooooooong time coming and it was worth it!

Dax and Shirley’s story was abso-fucking-lutely fucking perfect!

Once more, CM Stunich stretched herself to the limit to make sure that the HARD ROCK ROOTS legacy remained the biggest, baddest rock series in the whole galaxy.

Yes, THE BIGGET, BADDEST ROCK SERIES!

So yes again, there’s plenty of sex, drugs, alcohol and cursing in this book, and I really think it should have been dedicated to the F-word only, eh eh!

Happy reading!

Exciting stuff

I noticed a bit more grammatical errors as well as some POV confusion. I still enjoyed the book and would recommend this book to friends.

I was already looking forward to reading this book. It's really weird. I normally really don't like contemporary novels or non fantasy books, but this series is just amazing and addictive and where I sometimes skip a few extra days or a extra week when reading a series I really don't want to do that with these books. I'm way to into it and I'm hating the rule that I can't just read the last two books tomorrow and Thursday, but have to wait until Tuesday next week. (Yes, it's a rule I made, but it's there for a reason, I'm not gonna break it!)

Just like the previous seven books in this series there was a lot of relationship drama in this one. I love how Stunich can keep that interesting. Normally I grow bored with it quite easily and quite soon, but in this case I just can't get enough. It does help though that we're not focussing on just one pairing. Naomi and Turner are great, but 10 books just about them might have been a little much. But like this it works perfectly.

It also helps that I really like Sydney and Dax, both for different reasons. Although Sydney and I are as different as night and day, I love how she goes for what she wants, how she's intelligent and yet proud of her body and not ashamed of who she is and was forced to become. She's amazingly strong and smart and kind. And Dax might call himself emo, but I love how deeply and purely he feels and how he can be afraid of admitting what he feels, but ends up doing it anyway. They really make an amazing pair.

The main arc has slowed down again in this book, but I personally don't mind. We needed a little calm after the storm and I'm quite sure it's also a calm before the storm. And I can't wait for it to be next week so I can grab the next installment of this series. I have the feeling it's gonna be epic.

I cant get enough of these crazy rock stars! Stunich does such an incredible job of putting me right into this world that i forget i'm just on my couch sometimes. Her descriptions make me feel like i'm watching it happen, Turner's tight pants and tattooed fingers going for his cigarettes or Dax's eyeliner cover his Born Wrong tats on his eyelids, it's like I'm Sidney or Naomi and these hot as hell rock Gods are right in front of me! She speaks to the groupie inside me and i cant get enough, living the rock star lifestyle vicariously!
Sidney and Dax were perfection, I enjoyed their story completely and their photo shoot together..man, i'd like to see that cover! With all his black & white ghosts with her technicolor seascapes! I love Sidney's 80's bright fashion sense and her lip gloss fetish. Pure awesome reading!!! The crazy mystery of the rich families playing the bands like marionettes keeps the plot lines rolling well even if it's my least favorite aspect of the books.

I'm so glad I finally got round to reading heart broke! Dax has been one of my favourites since I picked up book 1 and now to throw him together with a feisty, sex bomb like Sydney is brilliant. They are an awesome couple and hot as hell l, especially when the Sparks start flying!
Even with all the crap this group of rockers get thrown at them, they still manage to rock hard and love harder!!
I'm eagerly awaiting the next instalment, get hitched 😬 I really don't want this series to end.

None of rock'roll and all of feelings, drugs, fucking and threats. Zero untangling of mystery, but at book 8 in series I don't expect to actually receive any untangling from author. She made a mess and leaves reader to think what they want of it.
Truthfully, despite authors claim that she worked extra long and hard on this book, you can skip it completely and not miss it all. It adds a total of zero to series.

Love this series

Amazing. I just can't get enough of this series. C. M. Stunich is quite possibly one of the best authors I've had the pleasure of reading. Her words paint such vivid pictures you honestly can't help but feel like you are truly living the story. The plot twists, the angst, the comic relief, the steamy sexy scenes. Good lord this series is like a buffet of magnificence and decadence with a touch of underdog coming to fame characters. AMAZING!

These books are getting so redundant & I'm starting to lose patience. I went back and re read the whole series & still can't believe get hitched isn't out yet. Don't get me wrong I love this series but the first few books were constant suspense and now they're dragging. I hate when series wait so long in between releases.

STUPID STUPID STUPID PEOPLE

You know I would think that at least one, perhaps Ronnie or Sydney or Dax, could come up with a plan, a strategy something. But no, they keep doing drugs, fu#king around, let the bitches lead them around by their nostrils and wait for the next catastrophe. They aren't even making music. They all are so STUPID. 👿

Heat broke

This book does not disappoint! In true CM style it's a rollercoaster ride with twists and turns like you'd never believe. Turner gets his mansion, Naomi wakes up, dax gets the girl but there's more downs and ups waiting to be revealed in every page!
Right.....I'm diving into the next book 😊😊😊

OMG!

I didn't think the series could get any better, I was wrong. I really enjoyed reading about Sydney and Dax. I didn't think he would get over Noami, but I'm glad he did. He needed to finally be happy. Can't wait for the next book. Hopefully it's about Turner and Noami 😍

I adore seeing Dax and Sydney falling in love, as the world falls apart around them. We get to see more of our two favorite bands, and all the ups, downs, twists and turns, I’ve come to expect in the Hard Rock Roots series. Love it hard!
