Rich with pictures and history, this is an excellent compendium explores the history and trends of tattooing. The focus is maritime in the first half with a lot of Sailor Jerry flash. This includes history and trends of tattooing like the cross at sea and -- so a sailor can say he slept with some in each port -- ladies on each leg. A briefer concluding section is the music part, including tats on members of The Stray Cats, The Misfts, Sec Pistols, and more generally calling the punk scene a tattoo revival movement.
